So this post is not to hurt anyone's sentiments or pov's, I am just putting forth mine. I have not watched tonight's episode yet, maybe that might change my way of thinking but..

The reasons I do not want Pushkar Preeti happening is because the actress who plays Preeti is not quite up to the mark. Her bubliness and optimistic take on life looked forced, like she is faking it. That is the fault on behalf of the actress.
The other reason I do not like Preeti for Pushkar is because of the way she behaved when Suman caused them to miss their flight.
And the last reason is the writers should have developed their track from the start. Khair.
These are the only qualms I have of Push-ti or Pree-kar happening.
A majority of the views in this place is that Preeti is a "bimbo" hence is not suitable for Pushkar, our cute supporting bestie/brother.
What I want to know is what qualifies as a bimbo? Just because she watches dramas and have an interest in fashion and likes nail art, she is termed as a "bimbo"?
Because I believe her heart is in the right place, no matter what her interests are.
She was so sweet and supportive of Suman when the whole Khosla fiasco was going on.
Just because she craves for a bit more materialistic things, she is not worth it?
Just because she is a flawed, she is not good enough?
Her character is very realistic, sans the nail art class because I don't think they have classes specifically for that.
I am not saying you believe in this stereotyping or follow some set standards, I just wanted to put forward some points for a healthy discussion.
Feel free to agree/disagree, or add to it.

Nicely put.I think her selfies during jhadoo marofying qualifies for bimbo😆.Actually I don't have much problem with the character or her being paired with Pushkar. It is the actor and rushed track are not letting me to enjoy the track.She was more or less like extra, her screen time was less than Daboo, out of blue showing her this happy go lucky, cheerful girl...Nah! But again, it is the actor for me,Her trying too hard is evident ( Waise I remember discussing about chances about Preeti becoming parallel lead with someone long back, was it you?)

I would have been up for Pushkar/Preeti's track had they established her as a proper character (rather than just a sidekick) from the start. Alright the CVs didn't do that. The next they could have done was to take Pushkar/Preeti's interactions slowly. I love the small scene they had during holi. There was an interaction, but there wasn't too much to read into it. But ever since the episode when the dinner happened, its like there is a clear romantic angle they have forced in, without even setting up Preeti as a character & Pushkar/Preeti as friends. Its too rushed.

On to why I am not able to warm up to Preeti

1. The actress is OTT. Vandy isn't a great actress, but we've all warmed up to her & acting because she has a certain charm about her. Preeti at the moment lacks the acting chops & that charm.

2. Preeti as a character has no shades. She is pretty one dimensional. Quite a bimbo - someone without any ambitions, someone who doesn't work hard, & someone whose just engrossed in herself. It isn't just about her watching dramas, or doing nail art. She lacks a voice (which has suddenly appeared after meeting Pushkar..woh bhi talkative Preeti all of a sudden😆)

3. Pushkar deserves someone so much better. He's so sorted, so understanding, so warm, but at the same time smart & practical. If you look at him as a character, he's quite an ideal guy. He deserves someone who at least if not as smart or charming, is someone who can walk with him side by side & understand him. Preeti seems quite dense at the moment to be capable of truly supporting Pushkar & filling that void in his life.

To be fair, the only thing that works in favour is that Preeti is cute & together they would look nice in a picture. I know that she's been sweet & supportive to Suman, but I feel that she's the kind who will change sides if it is not beneficial to her. Her character is realistic, & I don't say that she doesn't deserve any guy. She does. But not someone like Pushkar at least.

I dont like preeti coz her character seems artificial esp when all the other characters seems real... The.cvs are.trying to make her look like a carefree happy go lucky girl but failing miserably... Neither the actress nor her character.is appealing... Either.change.The actress or dont pair her with pushkar who is loved by all offscreen and onscreen... Also I dont see any chemistry b/w.them and their pairing seems forced.. Preekar is the only non.realistic thing in the show... pushkar has known preeti for years and their sudden friendship is kind of boring and unrealistic...

I feel that who playing preeti not so good in acting in the whole EDKV cast she is the one not suit in the character more over I can't see the bubbly type naturally in her.. I can't like her with pushkar may be I will like her alone just as sumo sister..

Agree with you.

I don't think she's a mean person or even a dumb one per se. I personally don't like her because she is the most underdeveloped character, at least for me, from both the families so far and coz the acting is not upto the mark.

I'm just gonna summarize my thoughts because lack of time 😆. Nice to see a post by you though Sanu 🤗

Preeti- I like the way she's written, not the way she's performed.

Preeti's one of those characters I really, really disliked up until the episode where she & Suman have that first conversation by the window. After that I started seeming some redeeming qualities to her. And after the scene (two days ago I think?) with Pushkar about the Rickshaw/Mere Paise Bachenge thing, I think I gained better understanding of her.

I think the fine line that separates her from Chachi/Mami is that she wears her heart on her sleeve, like jo bhi dil main hain bol deti hai. She can be money-minded, manipulative even (harne waala jeetne waale ko coffee pilayega), but she's very open about all these facets of her. Like "main aisi hi hoon," which I appreciate. She's not like playing her cards with much thought, one of the very few "bindass" in the non-OTT sense characters I've ever seen on TV/Film (writing-wise).

However performance wise, the actress in my opinion is so-so. Like she has great writing to work off of, but the acting turns it into border-line cliche because of the zaroorat se zyada enthusiasm. I believe they call those types EnthuCutlets right? 😆

In short, like I said, I somewhat like Preeti as a character, but the performance can be better.

PreeKar- I like it when it's subtle, and not so much when it's really in your face.

Preeti for Pushkar- I have mixed feelings.
