My take on why Shravans doing this! Protecting what you value!

What he did was breathtakingly beautiful.

That was his love.

The fact that he used this opportunity, this promise he had where she couldn't say no to what he asked of her was more heartbreaking. Because he still is that insecure teenager from ten years ago when it comes to her. He loves her so much that he just cannot take her rejection.

Why did he say friendship, instead of love?

Because for him, it's love. But he doesn't know that Suman does in fact love him as well. It's just a thought that has not occurred to him, because it's so far beyond what he believes could happen. Because how could he even believe that?

They have been apart for ten years. With no contact, whatsoever. How can he come to believe that in the ten years, in which they have had no contact, no chance for him to see her mature, that she feels the same for him as he does for her? I just don't. Because also the last time he spoke to her, his heart was so broken. He didn't have any basis to believe that she could feel like that for him too.

And being the person Shravan is, he would never impose his feelings on Suman, especially knowing how she's like he can't risk heartbreak again. Not with her. The one person he cares for much for and needs in his life.

Two instance that were underplayed in the episodes but are so critical and that especially proves the immense value of Suman in his life are:

1)The terrace scene where he jokingly tells her that he needed his one friend that he trust to have his back defend him in front of the the people that said stupid things to him in London. Like that. His expressions there and the way he was just looking at her. It so beautiful. Because Suman is his only true friend. The person he used to rely on for support. He wants that friend back. He wants to have that dynamic back, and now when he sees and understands that this Sumo (a much more matured woman who will no longer take him and his feelings for granted) will return that friendship with equal respect.

2) In today's episode, I don't know if you realized but at the rickshaw scene when he tells her what he said to his family, and she in a very confused state says friends, the panic that was so clear in his expressions and body were heartbreaking. And then when he immediately brought up how she promised him she wouldn't deny his request, my heart just couldn't. Because she MEANS SO MUCH TO HIM that he used that one promise to make sure she wouldn't deny him their friendship. The fact that he loves her so much and can't handle not having her in his life that he is willing to suppress his feelings just so that he can still have her as a friend says it all.

His actions more than anything speak what words CANNOT DO JUSTICE TO.

Mind games are the LAST LAST LAST thing he'd do, especially with Suman. His relationship with her is invaluable to him. He wouldn't do anything purposely to hurt that relationship.

You analyzed Shravan's feelings soo well! And it's sad when people can't see the depth and importance of these tracks like what are they watching for? I get so angry when people say he's playing "mind games" like who are you kidding?😆 it makes me so angry when people misunderstand shravan and jump to stupid assumptions like this! IF he was playing mind games, he would take advantage of this situation and make Sumo do something cuz he had her promise, he could've fulfilled his desires or whatever but he didn't! Thats love! Not mind games lol. I agree with everything especially the bolded parts! Please make this a post so more people read it!❤️

Aww thank you so much. I actually had written this before in a comment but it got deleted and I had to rewrite my comment. STUPID FREAKING IF.

But anyways coming to the point, YES. It get's me so annoyed because this is one show where we clearly see there is logic. There is actual effort in the writing. The CVS actually give a damn about a good, logical story that deserves the respect and love from the audience. I just hate how they don't get the rightful recognition they clearly deserve.

BECAUSE they have shown and proven to us many, many, time in the past 45 episodes to say the least that they are giving us a consistent story. They have maintained such dignity in their storytelling, execution and characters, it's heartbreaking that people still don't see that.

If he wanted to play mind games, I'm sure he could have done that a while ago and be on his way for London.

The man did not stay when his father, the one man he ADMIRES and LOVES so dearly pleaded him. He did not stay for Pushkar, the brother he loves so dearly. He did not stay for anyone but SUMAN.

The man laid his heart out for her. He asked for her hand in friendship again, why? Because heartbreak is not easily forgotten. What happened once before, he couldn't bear to see that happen again. That's why he asked for friendship. Because he needs her in his life and is willing to do whatever it takes to make sure that he does not lose that friendship/dynamic in his life.

The CVS clearly put a lot of thought into this, into the characters of Shravan and Sumo, into their relationship, into the way things have shaped up until now. They didn't just give us this friendship track to drag the story on, no. They gave it cuz it's very much important and NEEDED for their relationship. I for one love how they're grown another step in their relationship and it's been done at the perfect beautiful pace! It's truly a finite show and man does it deserve way way more love and appreciation! ❤️ My heart actually breaks for this man, like everytime I feel he can't get anymore perfect, he surpasses himself time and again! Like Suman said: "Main Andhi thi Shravan, koi tumhara saath kaise chod sakta hai? Ab aisa Kabhi nahi hoga" it was so heartbreaking and beautiful! This story has so much depth and emotional connection that it amazes me. I love it with all my heart and I won't take it if anyone bashes this beautiful show.

I love the journey they have come through especially the terrace scene. I just loved everything about it. Because for me, one part that was just so significant in especially how far they have come is Suman's reactions to certain behaviors. One part of their relationship that we have seen quite a few times is how Shravan seems to always be the one waiting for Suman. Once again, in that scene, she was late and he was waiting for her. But this time it was different.

In the first few episodes. do you remember that flashback where Shravan was waiting ALL day for Suman to give her a set of notes SHE asked for. You can clearly see the immense development and change in their dynamic from that flashback and this terrace scene. The fact that there was a time where Shravan was so insignificant for her, she had asked him for a favor and couldn't care enough that perhaps he would be waiting for her. Had she not coincidentally been going through that road, she probably would have never known that he was even waiting for all day. And Shravan being the character he is would have never even let her know of this.

Yet, in the terrace scene, where we see Suman trying to make it on time on the terrace, but she could't YET the regret is visible. She appears so upset that she made him wait and is regretful. The development we see in her character is so PERFECT. She has finally understood the value of him and this precious friendship that she will never willingly allow to be broken again.

THANK YOU CVS ONCE AGAIN. I just love them. And truly deserve to be applauded.
