You made very valid points.

1. Definitely that letter is a reminder of the betrayal & broken heart.. but like I said somewhere he held on to the hurt for so long because he loved her. If it was just about friendship, he would have held on to the bitterness, but would have moved on in life, & saw beyond her. But all these years he never moved on.. there's a scene in the initial episodes when Shravan finds Suman's sorry letter in the book. He looked at it, & smiled at the memory of confessing to her, but his smile faded as he saw a picture of his teenage self & he ripped it apart saying that she doesn't matter to him anymore. THAT SCENE TILL TODAY IS ONE OF THE MOST DEFINING SCENES OF SHRAVAN IMO. So telling of his love for her, as well as the heartbreak he went through.

2. Shravan has a very clear thought process..he's the kind who knows exactly what he wants. If as a teenager, he was able to see & acknowledge that he loved her, then there is no way that he doesn't know that he loves her still. That would be a blooper IMO.

And yes, the terrace scene was definitely about moving on & forgiveness. Exactly my point, he did it not because he wants to spend his life with her, but because he wants to keep her in his life. And that's what he did.. he released her.. His act of doing that was clearly his love for her.

3. Yes, I also think Suman is reading too much into his actions. That is clearly his style. As another member pointed out, its a skill & trait he acquired while growing up to get rid of his old self & now it comes naturally to him. There is no real intention there.

AND YES, I AM SO GLAD THE CVs WENT FOR FRIENDSHIP FIRST. Omg right?? He is still very much the same Shravan who held a very low confidence in himself. You can't blame the guy though after everything he's been through to feel this way. To be insesure, to be scared of a second rejection. Especially today's episode, the way he got worried when she questioned with "Dosti" and he thought she meant something else and started saying "Kal hi to tumne kaha tha na?" It was soo the young Shravan at that moment! Genuinely insecure, like that right there just proved WHY he chose to ask for friendship. Because I feel he genuinely believes in his mind that Sumo never had feelings for him and never will. Like he doesn't know what Sumo has started to feel for him and he couldn't have risked losing her, losing this precious friendship all over again. And like Namik said with regards to friendship and love, how can you have one without the other?

And ahhh I can't wait to see that! Cuz I know that is def coming😳 I can't wait for Sumo to help him rebuild that confidence, make him love himself. The same Sumo that sidelined him, will glorify him and value him more than ever. That will be one of the most beautiful tracks ah!

YES. Honestly this is the first show, where I equally feel connected with the young leads & the older leads.. like shakal badal gayi (in fact I see some similarities in the shakal also) but they are still the same. There's a similar charm to young ShraMan & adult ShraMan, even though there are differences as well. Usually in most shows, when the young leads grow up, I am always disappointed because I feel they're totally different. I can't connect at all. HATS OFF TO THIS SHOW FOR MAKING THAT CONNECT.

YES, I know right! I noticed the way he immediately got worked up. Like one little joke of hers has the potential to hurt him.. he's so sensitive that way. And seriously the low self-esteem have been emphasised time & time again, even when he got jealous of someone like Goglu who is no match to him. Somewhere he also knows that he is her only friend, just like she is..and that gives him a lot of faith. He is just too scared that she might go far far away from him, if he didn't make the first move of extending his hand for friendship. He's happy with her being there in his life, even if he may not get to share his life with her. ❤️

There can be no greater proof of his love than what he did on the terrace for her.

@prejudiced : regarding speaking of future, "that they cannot be more than friends " ... I felt it was more of an "assurance" not just to the family members but it was for his own self... kind of imposing the control on his feelings .. that repetitive "dost.. dost.. dost" emphasizes .. that he was telling himself ...that they cannot be more than friends ... even though he loves her, he wouldn't like to go through all that pain again...and underplaying his expectations .. though he is successful and confident now.. there is still that fear of rejection from her as he always kept her on a higher pedestal..be it 10 years back or now.

@Sam That's very true about him having low self esteem which was 10 years back , more so when it comes to Sumo and their relation .. with others he doesn't have this low self esteem ... his confidence overpowers every other person but not Sumo as he still looks up to her, with those twinkling teenager eyes .

Ghanna, awww that bit...I soo agree,.. when Sumo said "kya hum dost hain ?? " I could see a chota bachcha ...demanding from his friend "kal hi toh tumne kaha tha" how can you break the promise already...kind of look and true he is genuinely insecure to lose her as a friend .. again as sam mentioned , how beautiful would it be to see Sumo help him cope of with his self esteem when it comes to her.. for that.. Sumo has to come down 2 steps and Shravan has to come up 2 steps !!

@Sam ,.. friends of childhood, turning lovers when they are grown up.. me too never connected with those .. but this friendzoning is a masterstroke from creatives.. you see no diff in "emotions or feelings " between young ShraMan and Adult ShraMan .. they are still the same..

His vulnerabilities and insecurity to lose a friend was shown when he said "kal hi toh kaha tha " he is just being happy she is in his life as a friend and more than that he is more content that he is her friend !! Had he confessed his love and that is not what Sumo wanted.. he would lose his genuine pure platonic friendship with her .. because once love comes into pic, the comfort will be replaced by awkwardness .. he is being cautious and being low profile !!

and as per precap ... I can see, preetha's logic will make Sumo trail on wrong path .. she said if he does what he says it's love... if he doesn't it's friendship .. but Shravan would do anything she asks him just out of friendship and which will be misinterpreted by Sumo and Preetha .

Thank you Ghanna, appreciate it, you can call me Munni, truee that, they are writing the characters, scenes, tracks very intricately with lot of though into it. bachpan ke dosti evolving into love when you grow up is something I cannot connect ..it's not height or weight of body which grows with age ... wonderful writing they started with friendship and also if there was confession at this point going by the norms .. story would have end right there.. as in the very next episode post confession .. with marriage talks , stature differences.. and whole lot of drama .. super glad it's not done that way..

YES YES YES the flirting is part of his persona.. it is something that he picked up over the years & it comes very naturally to him & these are the little things about Shravan that has changed over the years even though his core is the same.. Add to that the fact that he loves her.
Exactly, he's being cautious. He doesn't want to assume more the way he did a decade ago, that's why he doesn't read too much into her actions. He's learned his lesson, that too the hard way. And now he cannot afford to loose her at any cost.

@ bold indeed, he holds her on a higher pedestal, be it back then or now... he used to wait for her back then and he still waits for her.. again agreed there.. how true it is, her opinion matters the most to him.. and it hurt him that he hurt her with out of court settlement and went all out to do "how" and "what " she wants to do .. Had it been any lawyer ,. they would say it was the best way to go for out of court settlement !! Even here he didn't try to force his views of practicality on her saying this the best we could do .. instead went out of his way and proved Priya aunty was not wrong there by regaining Suman's trust and faith in him.
