New member...new story - A Suvan FF (Chapter 9 - page 6) - Page 3

This chapter might seem a little slow but I just wanted to build up a little before any revelation happens. I'm personally not happy with this chapter but this is the best I could do after so many attempts, hope you guys like it. And constructive feedback is always welcome 😊

Chapter 3

He was not surprised with her reaction as he understood that what he did with her all those years ago, her reaction was justified. He tried to speak to her, but she would not look at him let alone respond to him. So, he left from there after assuring her that he would do everything possible to get her out of here and that he believed in her because she could never do anything against the country.

Suman was shocked to see Shravan at the jail, she had never expected anyone to visit her because there was no one left in her world. Everyone had left her for their own reasons. She hated Shravan and had never wanted to see his face after what he did, but seeing him here for her reassuring her that he believed in her, made her feel better and hopeful that maybe she was not alone in this world there really was someone who cared for her dearly irrespective of what happened. Though MG Bakshi had supported her like his daughter throughout her career, she could not share everything with him after all he was her mentor and officer. But how did any of this matter anymore she laughed sarcastically.

But what surprised Suman more was that Shravan had joined the army and he was a Captain and more importantly he had joined her father’s regiment. Why she wondered? Was it to get back at her or was he genuinely interested in the army as once he had mentioned it to her?

The next day MG Bakshi called Shravan to his cabin, Shravan was hopeful that he would help Suman. MG Bakshi “Captain Malhotra, please come in, I wanted to update you about the things you discussed with me yesterday. I spoke to Suman about this and she said you are her old friend hence you’re just trying to protect her. She has accepted all the charges, has even signed on her confession and agreed to divulge details of her group. Her death sentence has been finalized and scheduled for Friday morning that’s three days from now. I was hopeful of getting Suman out of this mess when you came, however it seems as if she herself does not want this. I’m sorry Captain I did my best, and this is the most I can do.”

Shravan was shocked at whatever just happened why the heck would Suman sign her confession and more importantly she tried to protect him after all that he has done. After 5 minutes he spoke, “Can I please meet her sir, I’m sure I can get her to take the confession back.”

MG Bakshi, “Actually Suman has asked to see you herself; she has requested sometime with you as her last wish.” Shravan’s eyes popped out at this, is this girl for real or is she mad. But then he thought this might be a good time to speak to her. The court had granted them 1 hour.

Next day Shravan got ready and went to the jail. He had decided to convince Suman to fight harder for herself and not protect him. He had made up his mind to do whatever it takes to convince her. That was the only thing on his mind. As he entered her cell, he saw her sitting on the floor, she looked a little better today the scars were still fresh while some were healing slowly or maybe they didn’t torture her today because she had signed the confession agreed to provide details of her so called group.

As he was about to speak, she cut him and asked for two cups of chai. He smiled a little on her typical behaviour remembering old days. Then she spoke, “Shravan tum soch rahe hoge ki maine tumse milne ki mang kyu rakhi, actually maine jo wakt jail me bitaya toh mujhe realize hua ki tum aur tumhari family kis daur se guzare hoge use wakt. Mai tumse maafi mangana chahti thi. I’m sorry Shravan maine tumhari family ko galat samjha. Mai samjah sakti hu ki tum mujhe protect karna chahte ho par aisa mat karo Shravan. Yeh sab ka ilzam apne upar mat lo, tum ab ek army office ho phele mere friend ya boy… ya aur kuch bhi nahi.”

He was surprised at her sudden change in attitude towards him. “Suman maine bhi bahut galtiya ki hai aur mai bas apni galti ki saza tumhe nahi lene de sakta. Please Suman yeh confession wapas lelo aur appeal karo. Mai tumhare saath khada hu tume support karunga.”

“Janti hu Shravan isiliye keh rahi hu mat karo yeh sab, anyways lo chai aa gayi”

They sat in silence while sipping the chai and reminiscing and reliving old memories. She asked him why he had joined the army and understood his genuine interest in the army, he confessed it was because of her father who inspired him and believed in him. As Shravan was about to ask her about the case, Suman cut him and spoke “Shravan chalo nah maine cards mangwaye hai, apni purani yado ke liye ek baar khelte haina please.” He was shocked at such a demand from her at such a serious situation. But he could not say no to her. While they were playing cards each of them managed to smile and laugh a little, remembering their old days in Bhopal, how they wish they could go back. And suddenly Shravan got hold of a card with “HELP” written or inscribed on it with a pin, as he looked at Suman he realized she was asking for help but with what, didn’t he already assure her of his stand for her that he would fight the case with her. Or did she have something else up her sleeve, while he has wondering Suman had requested to be allowed to step out into the open for 5 minutes.

As they headed out Shravan thought how funny her demands have been, to meet him, chai, cards and now she wants to step out. As they reached out guards were posted all around and were continuously following them, Shravan felt bad seeing this but suddenly Suman was all chirpy and excited. Now at this Shravan realized she was up to something NOT GOOD but what was the question he did not know the answer to yet. But maybe she trusted him and that is why she had asked for some time with him, he understood she was on a mission and he had become a part of it knowingly or unknowingly. But did she mean whatever she said in the cell sometime back. He kept pondering.

PS: I don't know much about how this wish granting system works so I just wrote whatever I had an idea of, sorry if this feels a little unrealistic

Relatively short chapter but I hope you guys enjoy it.

Chapter 4

Shravan and Suman were running in a jungle with the army behind them.

Flashback

In the jail as Shravan was lost in his thoughts, Suman had managed to knockout one of the guards and snatched his gun. As Shravan’s chain of thoughts broke with the commotion, he saw Suman had a gun in her hand pointed at him. He understood he was her way out of here. So, he played along of being taken hostage by her and both of them managed to escape but he failed to understand why she wanted to run when she could just fight and build a stronger case with his help.

They spent 5 days running from the army, but they hardly had any conversations, Suman was usually busy arranging money, travel, fake IDs and disguises for both of them. He wondered who she was taking orders from and who was aiding her but then did not question her as he thought she was probably on a secret mission. They had to keep changing their disguise as their faces were all over the news channels. They claimed Suman had run away and had taken me into her custody, there were shoot at sight orders issued for her. The only time she would speak to me was to discuss the next step or give instructions. She had told me that we need to reach Kashmir as soon as possible and we would get the next set of instructions there. In these 5 days he had started falling for her again, not like he ever fell out of love, but other emotions had taken over the emotion of love. He suddenly felt proud of her for accepting such an allegation for the sake of the mission and her country.

“We would reach Kashmir in the 3 hours where we have to meet a man, he would guide us on what to do next” said Suman firmly. We reached a jungle where this man is supposed to meet us, we had been waiting for 2 hours and there was no sign of this guy. Suman was also not speaking to me, I tried asking her about the mission and the guy, but she would not tell me, she would say the same thing she has been saying since last 5 days, “Ruko sab samajh aa jayega Shravan.”

I was not having a good feeling about this and the next thing I know someone hits me hard on my head, as I try to get hold of Suman to protect her, I collapse.

hey so it was sudden thought for shravan to rescue suman? because they are drinking chai & then jumping? ...interesting development but bit confused so thats why i asked...

Hmm...plot is getting thicker. Look forward to seeing what's next

Hey I guess my writing is not very clear,

Actually Suman wanted to run away, so after the chai incident they played cards and through them she asked Shravan for help. After that they stepped out of her cell and there she managed to get hold of a gun, she put Shravan on gun point and Shravan also didn't resist and they managed to run away.

I know it's too confusing because of the way I wrote it and too filmy also. Sorry about that...

Sorry I guess my way of writing is not very clear, I have posted a clarification above, if there is something that's still not clear let me know I'll try my best to explain. And as for why Suman decided to run away we will find out very soon 😊

Hopefully this chapter is not confusing. I tried my best to write this one better. But if any feedback or changed in my writing style you guys would like to see, feel free to comment and let me know. Hope you guys enjoy reading it 😊

Chapter 5

I see Suman sitting in front of me when I gain consciousness. My head feels heavy as I try to get up and she helps me. She suddenly looks different as I look at her, I can see that she seems different and has changed, changed drastically, maybe it’s her clothing or her sudden confidence or over confidence is it. I don’t know anymore. Four armed guys or more like boys walk in and she speaks to them. I can’t quite hear what they are talking about, but I can feel its about me. After the guys leave, she finally speaks to me, “Abhi thodi der me yaha Army aayegi aur tumhe base le jayegi, waha tumse puchtach ki jayegi, toh jo mai kahu tumhe wahi kahna unse warna tumhe ghadar declare kar diya jayega samjhe” Suman speaks sternly and with authority.

“Suman tum kya kah rahi ho tum toh mission pe hona aur yeh log kaun the yaar, thode alag lag rahe the nahi?” Shravan asked curiously while trying to let go of the tension.

“Yeh mere log hai Shravan” Shravan let that sink in for a while as he didn’t understand what she meant by mere log. “Indian army you mean” Shravan finally tried to seek clarification as he didn’t want to imagine anything stupid about her. “Nahi Shravan, yeh mere log hai jinke liye mai kaam karti hu, tumhe kya lagta hai Indian Army bewakoof hai joh mere trial ko leke itni betaab hogi bina kisi strong evidence ke. Unhe pata tha ki agar mai bhaag gayi toh army ki bahut important information leak hongi jo unke liye jayda khatarnak hain. Mujhe death sentence bhi itni jaldi isi liye diya tha Shravan, warna who mujhse mere logo ki aur information nikalte phele. Waise koshish ki thi par fail ho gaye” she said sarcastically, “anyways army se kehna ki tumhe maine aur mere logo ne zariya banaya yaha se nikalne ke liye, tumse yeh sab gun point par karvaya gaya tha warna jail me sadoge.”

Shravan’s head was spinning, and he felt he would faint again any minute, the past 2-3 weeks have been very overwhelming for him as every other day he gets a shock. He didn’t know what to say or believe anymore. He wanted to believe that she was on some mission but looking at her mannerisms and her determination with which she spoke it was almost impossible that she was lying. He tried speaking but words ditched him, he still tried “Su.. Suman tum mazak kar rahi ho right koi mission hoga I’m sure, mujhe koi sign dedo mai samjah jayunga” he spoke softly but his whole body was shivering.

Suman laughed hysterically and said “Tum bewakoof ho Shravan mission hota toh mujhe bhagne ke liye itni mehnat na karni padti, tumhe maaf karne ki acting na karni padti, mujhe koi bhi bhaga sakta tha. Khair tumhare log aate hi honge tumhe lene. Unke samne apni bewakoofio ka pitara mat kholna warna phirse tumhari family suffer kargi. Goodbye Shravan and thanks meri itni help karne ke liye.” Saying this she pointed her gun towards Shravan and fired two shots, one on his leg and another on his shoulder.

omg! so it was plot twist! shocked that suman shot him twice & it was a planned thing! really interesting...
