I have been a silent reader in this forum quite a while now. I watch the show on and off and I really like Shrenu and Zain........they are amazing performers. I quite liked the concept at first, but with the entire revamping done and with the track ahead, I am not interested anymore. I for one just hate forced marriages and I cannot stand it when women are humiliated all in the name of entertainment and what baffles me is that those are the most loved tracks especially mainly by women itself.
I have read your story in one go and I am speechless...........like seriously speechless. What are you doing here ???? I think instead you should have been in the creative team, coz frankly dear you story is 1000 times better than what we get served now.......and that is just my opinion. Your entire story is soooo interesting that I actually visualize it ......really. You are very very talented and maybe just maybe you should start writing a novel.......... You are really an amazing writer 👏
Hope you update your story soon, coz now I am visiting this forum the entire day, just to see if your story is already updated 😃
Ohmygoshh! I have no words! This is really such a compliment and I don't know if I'm so deserving of it!😳 Forced marriages are also not my most favorite thing to see! They've been overdone quite a lot in ITV to such an extent that it seems almost like a standard now! Issi liye I watch the episodes now just for ShreZain without thinking too much into the actual storyline :P I just watch for their scenes😆
And I'm sooo glad that you're liking my story!!! After the kidnapping track I would have loved to see something like this where JaBir slowly start to understand each other rather than another misunderstanding, but what to dooo?😵 This is really a very big compliment for me!!! I'm so sorry to have kept you waiting! It has been a busy few days for me, but the next chappy should be updated soonnn (hopefully within a few hours!☺️)
Thank youuu! <3
Alrightt! Here's part 10!!! There's a few cute JaBir scenes here <3 Hope you enjoy! Loads more coming up during their trip <3 Happy Reading my lovelies <3
Part 10
Pooja felt an immediate sense of bewilderment as she took her first steps into the enormous aircraft. Part of her couldn't believe that this was really happening. She was on her very first flight. She had seen this in movies and TV shows and had always wondered what it would feel like to be on a flight herself. But after her father's passing, she had neither had the opportunity nor the finances to fund such a trip. Today was her day.
She felt a light flutter in her stomach as she followed Kabir's footsteps along the narrow aisles and could barely contain the bubbling laughter on her lips. In the twenty minutes it had taken them in the line up to board, she had almost forgotten entirely about Kabir Mittal and the irritation she felt for him. She wanted to relish her trip as much as possible and she would do so regardless of Kabir's presence.
After walking for about two minutes, Kabir finally came to a stop. Seats 36 A and B. He grabbed his suitcase and opened the overhead compartment to dump it in. And then, without waiting for Pooja to respond, snatched her hefty suitcase and place it up next to his. "How much food are you planning to eat?" he grunted. "Based on the weight of this it seems your Amma has packed enough for a twenty person feast."
Pooja's eyes narrowed into slits. "Did I ask you to help me with my suitcase?" She demanded. And then eyeing his figure up and down she added, "Anyways, some weight lifting will probably do you some good." Leaving behind Kabir's disapproving glare, she pushed past him and flopped down onto the seat by the window. She had never felt this excited for anything in her life. From her elevated spot on the plane, she observed the flight crew outside wearing their neon safety vests and directing planes with their beacons. They looked like tiny stick figures! Her eyes widened as she noticed another plane pulling in beside theirs. Airplanes certainly didn't appear this big in the movies that she had watched! For Pooja, it was a most incredulous sight.
For Kabir, however, surprisingly enough, it was not the outside view that was bewildering. His gaze was fixed to something - or rather someone - else entirely. He had taken his seat beside her and was now observing her every movement. He had seen the flicker of a smile run across her lips as she had stuck her forehead against the round glass-paneled window. He had seen the small "O" her mouth had formed due to whatever sight she had witnessed outside. And he certainly hadn't missed the slow and excited widening of her eyes when an airplane had drove up beside theirs. Was this her first time on a flight? Without realizing it, his thoughts wavered towards her. What is she? He wondered. She loves to hate and hates to love. She's rarely right but will never admit it. Her eyes are like an open book that contains a mystery in every chapter. She is every man's nightmare and yet her innocence is like a childlike dream. He couldn't help the smile that crept onto his own lips as he gazed at her. Finally, he thought to himself, She is half heaven and half hell.
"At this time, we request all passengers to fasten their seat belts and switch off all electronic devices until the captain switches off the seat belt sign," A voice on the intercom broke in suddenly, disrupting Kabir's train of thought. "We are prepared for take off and we thank you for choosing Air France."
Pooja's eyes snapped to Kabir's. Her cheeks were flushed and eyes bright with excitement. It was then that Kabir's devious mind decided on an even more devious plan. Mission torture Pooja Sharma. He knew he couldn't be deceived by the innocence on her face. It was just a cover. The minute they stepped off this plane, she would be back to her monstrous, angry-young-woman self throwing nothing but sarcastic insults in Kabir's way. And Kabir wasn't going to sit down and take it. Nope. Gone were those days.
Putting his best acting skills to work, he gave Pooja a sad smile. "I know we haven't always been on the best of terms," he said, blinking back the fake tears he had managed to muster in his eyes. "But if this turns out to be our last moment together then know that I hold no grudges against you." He finished with a dramatic sigh. Pooja's smile disappeared and transformed instead into a confused frown. "What the hell are you talking about?" She asked.
He shrugged, switching off his cell phone and stuffing it into the pocket of his jeans. "The flight of course," he said as if it should have been obvious. "There's a 70% chance that the plane could crash." He looked at her, trying to stop the laugh that was dying to escape his lips. Her mouth fell open in shock. "If we crash in the water there's some chance that we could make it," he continued thoughtfully. "But that has its own share of risks. Being eaten alive by sharks. Or worse, being stranded in ice cold water and freezing to death." By this time, Pooja's face had grown as white as a sheet. "You've read up on all the emergency procedures right?" He said feigning concern. "Do you know where your life vest is? And how about all the emergency exits?" Her face was contorted as if she had seen a ghost. She couldn't speak. But for Kabir, this was too good to put to an end now. "I hope you're not afraid of heights," he said, nonchalantly. "I once had to jump out of a plane into water and had to swim for two hours to reach shore."
Pooja felt her heart sinking. Plane crash? Are we going to crash? Am I going to die? Her breath felt caught in her lungs. She looked towards Kabir, wondering if he was playing an elaborate prank on her. But the glum expression on his face told an entirely different story. She imagined the plane taking off, and then in the blink of an eye, falling down to the ground and splitting open like an egg dropped on the floor. And then in a burst of flames, she saw the flight exploding. She turned to Kabir and with a shaky voice, whispered, "I want to get off this plane." She barely said it loud enough to be considered audible. Kabir leaned in. "What was that?"
"I want to get off this plane," she demanded more firmly. And then, with fearful eyes, wailed, "Kabir, get me the hell off this plane! I want to get off! Right now!" Kabir was stunned. He looked towards the crowd that was quickly beginning to zone in on their conversation. Embarrassed, he whispered, "SHH! Pooja, shut up, people are listening! Be QUIET for heaven's sake!" But it seemed that Pooja had forgotten the definition of the word "control", for it was at this moment that she began smacking Kabir frantically on the shoulder. "Kabir Mittal!" She yelled. "GET ME OFF THIS FLIGHT!"
Kabir looked around exasperatedly. Thanks to Pooja's screams, they now had an audience looking at them both with annoyance and curiosity. And so, with an overwhelming irritation washing over him, he tightly gripped Pooja's arm and pulled her so close that her face was mere inches away from his. His other hand flew to her lips, immediately silencing her screams. His eyes were firmly locked to hers, gazing into her fear-stricken brown orbs. "Shut the f*ck up Pooja," He hissed.
She felt his warm hands against her lips and immediately froze. It was as if the breath had been sucked out of her lungs. His other hand was grasping her arm so hard that she couldn't help but wince, certain that he would leave a bruise that would reveal itself the following morning. His expression was hard and his eyes were intense. He was gazing into her eyes, unwilling to look away. It was as if he was searching for something within her. Pooja's thoughts were in a flurry. The moment his hand had fallen onto her lips, she had forgotten why she had ever been screaming in the first place. She saw only his eyes. Why is he looking at me like that? She wondered, feeling a rush of nervousness flood her system. It was as if he was in a trance that he couldn't get out of. Did he have golden specks in his eyes?! She had read about it in books, but it seemed so cheesy to actually be noticing such details within a living, breathing person's eyes. Wait. What the f*ck?! Golden specks?
Pooja shook herself out of her thoughts and shoved at his chest, pushing him away. Flushed, she took a breath, trying to regain her composure. From the corner of her eye, she could see Kabir doing the same. After what felt like an eternity, he broke with, "I was joking Pooja. Jesus, if I had known you were so bad at taking jokes, I would've kept my mouth shut." Pooja's head whisked toward his, glaring in fury. "Once again, Kabir Mittal, the problem is with your severely messed up sense of humor, not with my ability to take jokes." She snapped. And then, jabbing him in the chest with her finger, added "And don't you dare touch me again." She turned back towards the window, fuming and refusing to discuss anything further with the irritating man sitting beside her.
Meanwhile, Kabir had his own concerns. What the hell had just happened? The moment they had just shared. Could it even be called a moment? He had begun by furiously grabbing at her only to shut her up. But why had he held onto her? Why had he not let her go within the next second? Just to make sure she didn't scream again, he tried to convince himself. I held her as a precautionary measure. If she had yelled any louder, the security would have dragged us out of the plane by the collar. He remembered her fear-stricken expression and felt a sudden pang of guilt. I mean, yes, he had wanted to freak her out a bit, but not to this extent. And he certainly didn't expect her to frantically start screaming for sweet escape from the plane! He turned toward her. She had her eyes firmly fixed to the window, watching the large houses turn into small ants as they flew higher and higher into the air.
"Pooja," he started, clearing his throat. She gave no response. He sighed. "Look, I'm sorry okay?" He said softly. She crossed her arms indignantly, but gave no further evidence of having heard of him. Damn it, Kabir thought. Does she have to make everything so difficult? But could he just sit like this in awkward silence? They had to spend the next 17 hours together after all. He knew what she wanted to hear. And so, with a deep sigh, regretting every bit of his next sentence, he said, "I'm sorry for what I said at the airport as well." He swallowed, choosing his words carefully. "I didn't mean to say that you're inconsiderate...or unprofessional," she turned to him slowly, waiting for him to finish now. "I guess I was just hurt that you didn't call me for three whole days after...after the incident." He said softly. He didn't have to expand any further. She knew exactly what 'incident' he was referring to. "I thought we had an understanding," he said quietly, and then shook his head. "But it was probably just my misconception." He sighed. "Look, the point is, you're right, the problem isn't with you - it's with me. And for some godforsaken reason, I've been moody for the past several days."
Out of the corner of his eye, he thought he saw a sliver of a smirk cross Pooja's lips. His doubts were confirmed when she replied, in a most innocent tone, "I'm sorry Kabir...I didn't know it was your time of month."
His head snapped to hers in shock. And she couldn't help it. His bewildered expression was enough for her to burst out in laughter. He growled, feigning anger but internally feeling relieved that the tension between them was dissipating. "See?" She said, gasping for a breath, "I have a sense of humor." She grinned, flashing him a smile. And seeing her smile, Kabir couldn't help joining in with her.
It was a few moments before either of them realized what they were doing. For Pooja, it was a moment of shock. Was she laughing? With Kabir Mittal of all people?? As this recognition sank in, the laughter on her lips slowly died. Kabir followed in her footsteps. They were quiet. Sitting in awkward silence for several minutes before Kabir spoke once again.
"You were saying something...at the airport," he started. She looked at him curiously. "You were saying you have...nightmares? That keep you up at night?" Pooja stiffened. The memories of the the past week came flooding back to her. It was always the same. A man in a black coat was chasing after her in the dead of night. In the moonlight she always saw the knife in his hand glistening. And his words had become a mantra in her mind, constantly fixated there. No matter where you run, you will always find me standing in your path. She shuddered, feeling immediately nauseated. Eyes hard, she turned to Kabir and curtly stated, "I don't want to talk about it." Pursing her lips, she turned back to the window, fists clenched against her side.
Kabir was stunned at her rapid change of attitude. Something was wrong, he could tell that much. She was having nightmares. And she didn't want to discuss them. He felt an ache in his heart as he realized that those dreams had likely been caused by his own brother and the trauma he had undoubtedly caused her. But if one brother had caused her pain, the other would erase it. He turned towards her. I won't be able to help you if you don't talk to me Pooja.
But if she was Pooja Sharma then he too was Kabir Mittal. Try as much as you like, he thought. But no matter where you run, you will always find me standing in your path, prepared to fight against every nightmare of yours.
