Unfortunately, Imagine TV, in keeping w/ their tradition of screwing around w/ weekend broadcasts, didn't show DBSK Saturday morning (unlike last week), and I hadn't seen it Friday. So am updating from YouTube. However, they did show it on Sunday @ 9:30am - just b4 the Ramayan re-telecast, so got to correct a few things below. Speaking of which, this time, the Diwali on the screen happened to fall on the same weekend as the week Diwali was in, unlike in the original, when it fell on February.)
Shakuni is annoyed w/ Duryodhan, and asks him why didn't he consult him b4 making this move? He orders that the messenger be recalled. Duryodhan objects, but Shakuni tells him that he'll answer all his questions later, but demands that the messenger be recalled. A guard comes in and Shakuni sends him to recall the messenger. Duryodhan asks him why, after all that preparation, is he doing this, and hopefully, he hasn't suddenly become affectionate towards the Pandavas? 😲🤣 (This was one of the funniest lines to date 😆🤣) Shakuni is pissed and tells him that when hair starts growing out of his palms 😆, that would be the day he'd be affectionate towards the Pandavas. He tells him that just as the sun doesn't shine @ midnight, there is an appropriate time for everything. There will be an appropriate time for the death of the Pandavas. He tells him that if they carry out the plot today itself, they'll be suspected, and the entire population will hate them. But if this happens after a week during the Shiva festival, people won't know whether it was an accident or a conspiracy. He rejoices that they are fixing up the demise date of the Pandavas.
In Dwaraka, Murlidhar is done w/ his flute playing, and Satyabhama asks him why does he have a grin - it's like a lot of secrets are behind it 😆 (This is more like Krishna - not worrying about what's going to happen next) Krishna tells her that he's laughing @ Duryodhan & Shakuni, who in their arrogance, have forgotten that god too has a role to play in all of this. Both are making life and death decisions about others and attempting to fix the date of their ends, but don't have even the remotest idea of their own fate (This seems to be a rather premature statement, since the Kauravas have at least 25 years left in their lives) Krishna tells Satyabhama that he's the one who resides in everybody and determines the time of life & death & other fate. But some people in their ignorance & arrogance forget that and in loud voices try to make new contrary plans, when the plans for them have already been made by him in the form of fate.
In Varnavarta, Yudhisthir is done distributing gifts to the subjects, and his brothers signal him. He tells them that the day is over today, and they'll be off to rest. The courtiers leave, leaving just the 5 Pandavas behind. Bhima & Arjun tell him that they've located a secure spot on the bank of the river where they need to arrive after burning the house of lac. However, there is a problem. Bhima tells Yudhisthir that they have neither the equipment nor the experience to dig such a tunnel, while Arjun tells him that it would take them at least a month to do it - time they don't have. Yudhisthir tells them that they'll have to find out a reliable miner who can help them in this, and Arjun wonders how will they tell friend apart from foe?
Krishna divines all of this and appears in the dreams of 5 miners somewhere (presumably near Varnavarta. This time, Krishna appears as himself and not as Narayana - big improvement 👍🏼) They get up and greet him, and ask him to command them. Krishna tells them that the time for their great purpose in life has arrived to support the forces of dharam against adharm, and they'll be remembered in history. He tells them to go to Kunti & the Pandavas and tell them that he's been sent there by Vidura, and that they're there to burrow a rats shelter for them, and they'll understand.
The next day, the miners arrive @ the Shiva temple in Varnavarta, and the Pandavas appear there just after, and Yudhisthri tells the army commander to all rest there. The senapati objects, saying that Duryodhan had ordered them not to leave them alone, but Bhima reminds him that Yudhisthir is the yuvraj of Hastinapur, not Duryodhan. 👏 He tells the senapati that since Yudhisthir has ordered him to wait there, just wait there, or else... The Pandavas then turn and go up and bow to the linga, w/ Yudhisthir standing right next to the miners. Kunti prays for the well being of her sons, and the Pandavas pray as well. Then the chief of the miners greets Yudhisthir, and tell him that they were waiting for a darshan of him. He tells Yudhisthir that their ancestors all served Hastinapur, and he's there to serve them as well. Yudhisthir asks them to introduce themselves, and they tell him that they are the best miners in Varnavarta. He offers them their services. Yudhisthir ponders on it a bit, mindful that the senapati is observing all this, and then asks him to explain, and he suggests that they can build anything, and the Pandavas can employ them to built whatever they like. Yudhisthir asked them to accompany them to the lakshagriha 😲 (Yudhisthir actually let out that he knows what that palace is made of? 😲) and that they'd elaborate on their needs there.
In Hastinapur, Duryodhan is restlessly pacing his room, and Shakuni tells him that just walking up and down there impatiently is not going to set alight the house of lac 😆 He tells him to patiently await that moment. Duryodhan tells him he can't, and asks how can he be wait to hear the good news of the demise of the Pandavas? Shakuni tells him that they'd have to wait, and that everything they've hatched is going according to plan, and that Duryodhan's impatience could be their undoing, and after all, they have only 6 days, and after that, Kunti's sons would only be a footnote in history.
At Varnavarta, Yudhisthir asks the miners how they landed up @ the mandir, and why were they making special offerings? The chief miner tells him that they were sent there by Vidura for their security. The Pandavas all look @ each other doubtful, and Yudhisthir asks them how does he know that their words are trustworthy? The miner tells him that he was told to tell him that they could do for the Pandavas what rats can do for their security if there is a forest fire i.e burrow a tunnel for them. Yudhisthir thanks him, but the miner asks him not to embarrass them. 🤔
Later, the miner tells Yudhisthir that one team of his men will start digging from the house of lac, while another would start digging from the bank of the river that the Pandavas had selected. (How would they have known where the 2 tunnels were to merge? This sounds like the digging of the Chunnel b/w England & France) If all goes as planned, everything will be done within a week.
Bhima wonders how will they come to the palace unnoticed? Arjun assures them that he'd make those arrangements tomorrow b4 dawn. Kunti prays & tells Krishna/Vishnu (dunno who it is - Krishna after all does her charan-sparsh, given his relationship, whereas even Vishnu describes her as her bua ) that she knows that somehow, it was HE who was behind this rescue plan, and Krishna in his palace is happy @ the state of things.
Comments: So they're doing over this story by crediting Krishna w/ saving the Pandavas, while asking the miners to credit Vidura for doing it. Very generous of Shri Krishna - in fact, this secret is so well kept that even Rishi Vyasa never got to know about it either in Mahabharata nor in Shrimad Bhagvatam - looks like Vishnu just took Krishna's form and approached Sagar Pictures w/ his script 😆
Aside from that, I liked the episode. Not one moment does Duryodhan know any peace, and Shakuni has to struggle to keep him from sabotaging his efforts. To that end, I like the constant ghissa-pitta that's on b/w Duryodhan & Shakuni 😆
I'm still not getting why Krishna is alluding that the end of the Kauravas is near, when this has all just started. I mean, after the escape, there will be Draupadi's swayamvara, then Yudhisthir ruling Indraprastha for ~ 12-15 years, then the game of dice and the Pandava exile for another 13 years. So there would be something like 25 years during which Duryodhan would be the yuvraj, of which 13 years, he'd be the yuvraj of a united Hastinapur/Indraprastha.
