Cut to Radhika's apology episode - when Sam apologises to Arjun while eating ice cream and says that she will from now on put all her trust in him and him only.
But there is absolutely no ownership, no real amusement, no involvement of any sort in whatever is happening between them.
And then there is yesterday's episode, where Radhu just has to say one line and he becomes a bundle of nerves. 😆😳😆
He know longer needs the peanuts to show her the keemat of her vishwas. For she has reached a place where she truly knows in whom she can place her vishwas... And that's what really scares him, cause he knows that one day he will have to stand there facing her telling the story as it is and see her crumbling in front of him.
Sam does not make him feel a thing. He is always so indifferent to her, almost clinical too. Piyali has caught him at it so many times. But with Radhika, every part of him is involved. His eyes follow her everywhere, and when she is not in his proximity his eyes are always searching. She bewilders him, amuses him, terrifies him, irritates him, but most importantly she makes him come alive.
With Sam he is as dead as a corpse waiting for the funeral pyre to be lit. With Radhika, he dreams of flights in a clear sky. He longs to embrace the light but as he previously told her when she was unconscious in the hospital - "Mai jahaan bhi jaata hoon roshni ko kha jaata hoon."
I believe its this inherant sadness of his life that keeps him from confessing even to himself that he is in love with Radhika. He is scared that the moment he declares it, his darkness will eat up her light. He derives sustainance from her light, and he does not have it in him, for that light to be denied to him. Its Radhika's light that keeps him hoping, keeps him dreaming. With Sam, there is no such thing as hope or dreams. There is only darkness.
As Radhika, had told him in the photo studio... "aap jis gehre andhere mein hai wahaan se kewal roshni ki taraf hi raasta jaata hai. Naa raat apni chaal badal sakti hai, na din apni fitrat."
