Wow. Loved reading your reviews Gurleen. Yeah please start from Maha episode, The whole Diya Shaurya wedding mystery and ShaYa as such coming together started that day...

Btw you asked if Urmi ignored Ishaani. I think what they wanted to potray was that Damini never gave a chance to Urmi to show her motherly effections or that Damini herself raised Ishaani and Urmi didn't mind coz they were grieving for Isaan. Urmi wldn't have dreamt about Damini turning her own daughter against her.

But then in another after rape episode when Ishaani tries to reason with Damini about ?Diya staying in sinha house and Urmi hears that, Urmi tells Damini that she has given her good sanskar, thinking and hence Ishaani would not think like Damini😕
that day i was wondering did Ishaani change in her teens???? that Damini took over as the motherly figure instead of Urmi???

Will do!

But Anirudh saw it. In fact he even vocalized what Damini has been doing both to Damini herself and to Urmi. He has even explained to Urmi that Damini has been filling Ishaani with so much hatred towards her. Plus, I don't think this is a conversation that has happened one time. I'm sure it must have happened multiple times over the twenty years.

I think that incident was more of Ishaani thinking and behaving as a woman. As a woman she knows how tough it is act independently. Not to mention there is a huge age gap between Damini and Ishaani. The values and principles imparted by society that Damini grew up in is not the same as Ishaani's. Yes Ishaani is influenced by Damini and Urmi, but she is also influenced by her friends and the society around her. How this society perceives women and their boundaries to be. Also, from being close to Diya's age, Ishaani is finding it hard to believe that everyone could turn against her like that. Heavens forbid if something like that had happened to Ishaani, would everyone have turned against her like that? We all know they wouldn't of course, but seeing that happen to Diya will create a doubt and a sense of insecurity within her.

I don't think person took over another. I think Ishaani has been influenced by both Damini and Urmi but tends to lean towards one depending on the situation. Ishaani has hatred for Urmi because she blames her for her father's death. But that doesn't mean that she disrespects her or doesn't value the good life lessons that she imparts. After all these lessons are the exact same that everyone else in the family will also be repeating.

Not to mention, Shaurya is brought up with those same lessons and seeing him become so successful and see the pride everyone has in him, she will undoubtedly want to be the same. She wants to see the same pride and be cherished in the same manner as Shaurya is.

Yes, she can be a bit immature at times, but overall I don't think she is a bad person.

Analysis #3

Subject of Analysis: Episode #462

Analysis:

The new montage is interesting. While Urmi is happy about the marriage, I don't want it to impose on Diya and Shaurya's friendship.

What the hell? So this lawyer has a daughter of his own and he still sides with rapists? This is the type of hypocrisy that makes me astounded. They are okay with others getting harmed and see them suffer but when it comes to their own loved ones, they get miffed.

Diya! She is my star right now! I absolutely love how strong she has become. The way she has stood up for herself is everything that I want from her! If she is able to be her own support and fend for her own character, then she doesn't need anyone else by her side. It's time for everyone to realize that Diya is no longer a victim. But rather a fighter and she will do everything in her power to fend for herself. She is not weak and should not be underestimated.

The way she turned the hypocrisy around at the lawyer and threw those rapists back onto him and his daughter is outstanding. Of course Diya wouldn't want his daughter to be actually harmed in any way but simply the idea of such a heinous act being committed is enough to make him shut up.

Another thing, the way Diya has accepted that she has been raped is another crucial matter. It is a gross violation on her person and it doesn't take away the fact that what happened to her was wrong. However, she is no longer victimizing herself over it. She is taking action to get the justice that she deserves and is entitled to.

I love the irony behind Karan's truth being revealed in court. He had a great desire to appear in front of the big screen and was willing to become a sell out to do so. That is exactly what happened. He did become a sell out, but the only difference is that the screen that he appeared on was in court, a pretty grave matter on its own.

One thing I find disgusting about Jamdaar is that he orchestrated a rape to occur on an innocent girl and yet here is worshiping Mata Rani. It is despicable.

What Urmi is saying right now is mostly to inform the society all the rights a rape victim has and the crucial steps that must be taken in order to provide sufficient proof to win the case. Fearing what society has to say, like Diya's parents, could greatly hinder the case. By not getting the medical report conducted, they are ensuring that justice will never be received.

By assuming that he is greater than Mata Rani herself is highly foolish of Jamdaar.

Okay, now here comes the interesting part. Shaurya holding Jamdaar's son at gunpoint. The rage that he has and simply the way he is making his threats is amazing. This is definitely a side that I will want to see explored further. Shaurya has the potential to go really dark if he is angered in the wrong way.

Now here comes the greatest moment of all. The son that Jamdaar had done all these heinous acts for dies by his own hands. His biggest mistake was underestimating not only the goddess but women in general. Here Mata Rani gained justice by taking the life of the person because of whom her innocent child was assaulted upon. On the other hand, in court, Urmi gained justice by caging the demons.

One more thing, before I forget - glad to see that Karan and Jamdaar will be prosecuted as well. They have also committed heinous crimes and deserve to be severely punished for it.

Wow, I'm actually crying.

The whole struggle that Diya had to go through, the trials and tribulations that she had to face by her own and society, it was all too real. But in the end, justice was achieved.

Good defeated evil. Light won over evil.

As women they showed that they are not to be underestimated. If pushed the right buttons, they will stand up for the atrocities they are facing. We are living in a time and age where we will no longer suffer at the hands of others. Whether they are men or women, we will fight for what is right and that is the right to live in peace and with dignity.

Here come the narrow-minded ladies that we all love to hate. It is these type of women that I hate the most but find the most interesting as well. Stigma, standards, boundaries and limits are all set by society. By fellow human beings that have been living in a patriarchal society for so long that when they see a small sliver of change about to occur, they become flustered. It is a normal reaction for men to suppress a woman because they feel that their status and power is being taken away from them. But for another woman to do that surprises me. How can you as a woman talk about another woman in such a degrading manner? How can you as a woman berate a woman for being raped? For being brave enough to take a stand and fend for herself. To have the courage to face the entire world and fight for justice. When the other woman refused to get her disabled son married to Diya, I was miffed. Is a woman's virginity that important to society? If she gets raped, then she becomes impure. But what if she is engaged in sexual activities prior to marriage? What if she goes on dates? What if she has had a live-in relationship with another man? Will these standards still apply?

It is apparent that Diya's struggle is not over yet. There is still miles to go but the self-respect that society claims she has lost, she has earned it by winning the case. She has gained the courage and strength to fight. She may falter at times but she has gotten the foundation that she needed to cement herself.

Regardless, and unfortunately, this is a fight that Diya will have to battle for the rest of her life. People's behavior around her will change when they get to know she has been raped. Some's attitude may become hypocritical, cynical and highly negative like Damini. Some may be in support, impressed and in awe of her for what she has done. Then there are others who simply may not know how to react around her. How do you react around someone who has been raped? Cautious, wary, or normal?

Overall this was a fantastic episode. I absolutely love that Diya's rape case came to a culmination with the Jagratan. It was extremely fitting and appropriate.

The star of the episode for me was undoubtedly Diya for the way she stood up to Nikam. Shaurya shined in that moment when he was in a fit of rage and had picked up the gun. As for Urmi, well she shines all the time. However, I did not find her response to Damini to be appropriate. It seemed more like she did it to give Damini a fitting reply. She did not consider Shaurya's opinion on this and rather stated that as a mother she would not mind having Diya as her daughter-in-law. But she did not ask nor bother to find out whether Shaurya would prefer to have Diya as his wife or more importantly, who Diya wishes to have as her husband. Or whether she even wishes to get married at all.

I have stated this before some place else, but a woman's life does not begin and end at marriage. There is still so much that Diya can do before heading into marriage. She could go back to work and earn her spot back at Awaaz. By that I mean that she can show that she is still capable of doing her work. By engaging herself and focusing on her career, she can create an identity for herself that is independent of her rape. Because of the media coverage, right now she will be recognized as merely a rape victim. But through her work, she can begin to be recognized as Diya the reporter/journalist.

I hope we get to see this direction soon as I don't want Diya to be tied down to becoming a wife and facing atrocities by Damini's hands.

Analysis #4

Subject of Analysis: Episode #463

Anlaysis:

THANK YOU DIYA!

Everything that I have ever thought about a woman and marriage Diya has said it all.

I love Shaurya's perspective on what Urmi has just said. He has his own wishes and thoughts for his marriage. He wants to marry a woman that he loves and that loves him, not to prove a point to some narrow-minded, degraded women. If he does, then it is truly a great insult to Diya.

This is what a daughter is. No matter how many atrocities she faces, she will still crave her family. Despite being rejected for an incident that wasn't of her fault, Diya still longs for her mother. She still wishes to cry in her lap and have her warm and loving hand say that everything will be alright. That I am proud to call you my daughter. To be able to call you my own blood and to show society that - look! Look at how bravely my child faced your cruelty and came above it.

Unfortunately, Diya doesn't get to have that as she is rejected once again. I cannot understand how a mother can reject her own blood like this. The offspring that she had labored for 9 long months and worked so hard to nurture.

This is interesting. I wonder if Urmi is simply referring to Shaurya's abusive past or a particular event.

Urmi basically made Shaurya reveal all the qualities that Diya has. 😳😆

I have fallen in love with the way Shaurya has described his love. It was simply magical. <3

Finding a woman similar to Urmi is tough but Diya does come close to it. She is still very raw and has a lot to learn but she will eventually become strong enough to handle herself one day.

Urmi said it straight up. I love this woman. The way she has made Shaurya realize his love for Diya is well done!

Why is Damini constantly throwing women out of the house? 🤔

I love Anirudh's description of what respect is.

Great... now Damini is making Shaurya an outsider. >.<

It's a great contrast to how Urmi was telling Shaurya to move on from the past. But here we have Damini not only bringing it up but slapping him in the face with it.

She is slowly turning everyone against her. I won't be surprised if they all throw her out instead. 😳

Damini is getting way too out of hand. What she said right now is unbelievable.

I cannot believe that there is so much hatred filled within her. So much so that she will say such a disgusting thing about Diya.

I am still in shock.

Analysis #5

Subject of Analysis: Episode #464

Analysis:

I'm iffy about this actor. I don't trust him. 🤔

And Ishaani is too much of in a love haze to see any of his flaws. I can see this hurting her in the long run.

Okay, even I can see Damini's point about having her own social circle and her reputation being affected by people talking about Diya in a negative way. But that doesn't give her the right to talk to or about Diya in such a harsh manner.

I love Shaurya and Ishaani's interactions. They present the brother-sister bond so well. 😆

I'm iffy about this Sumit guy as well. I don't trust him. I mean yes there are noble men out there who are not affected by a girl's reputation if they have been raped. I'm not quite sure if I delivered that correctly but what I'm trying to say is that there are people who will treat rape victims as if they are normal every day people and not victims. By not blaming her for what happened and actually giving her the respect she deserves. But if Sumit does not turn out this way... then I don't know. I mean I don't want it to be presented as if Shaurya is the only good guy in the world. There are others out there apart from him as well.

This moment between Shaurya and Diya is so magical. The way she stopped talking and stared at Shaurya and then walked over to him while maintaining eye contact... what they have is magic and nothing else.

Shaurya, who doesn't believe in making eyelash wishes is doing it only for Diya. This is love. Seeing Diya smiling is so beautiful. I just want to cry now. This is the first time we've seen her smile so openly after the verdict came out.

Similar to the way Mujh Mein Kahin fitted Diya, this song, Banjaara, is fitting for Shaurya. Due to his past, he still feels a bit lost. Like he doesn't really belong and he has to try really hard to not follow in his footsteps. But with Diya, he is able to find someone that he can love wholly. By looking past the atrocities that have been committed upon her and to still be able to see the purity within her truly takes a heart made of gold.

Contrast that with Ishaani's song sequence. It is filmy, glittery, full on Bollywood style. It is again, showing how what Ishaani is feeling is not true love. It is merely a crush, an infatuation. She is dreaming and fantasizing about the image of AK. Not loving or getting to know him for who he truly is.

With Shaurya and Diya on the other hand, they both have gone through a lot of trauma. They have matured in ways that Ishaani hasn't. They understand the complexities and have faced the dark, cruel side of the world. Ishaani is living in a bubble that is protected by the dragon known as Damini.

Damini apologizing to Diya is really off-putting. I don't know if she's genuinely sorry about the words she uttered, but I do know that she still hates Diya with a passion and wants her gone. It seems to me like all this is being done for Ishaani. It's like what I had said about Damini wanting to protect Ishaani at all costs. Having Diya in the house will pose as a great risk as was evidenced by the rapists calling their home. I don't know what it is that makes certain people think that just because a person is defiled they have the right to step over them as much as they want.
