The past week has been the turning point of the show with Urmi putting Samrat in jail and as much as I would want him to stay there forever I know the real reason she took back the complaint is for her son's sake.

Tauji is one of those characters with one foot in the boat and one outside. On one hand he says that Urmi is right for standing up against Samrat and on the other side he says that they both are at fault and he doesn't want their marriage to break. WTH? Whose side is he on? Tauji's character is becoming hypocritical.

I feel like the cvs have brought up the topic but are dealing with it very halfheartedly. Why is Urmi's instinct not to get a divorce? Samrat is a disgusting person to everyone and he has always been a nasty husband. The best they are doing is making Urmi emotionless toward him? Really?
If you're gonna make her fight against him you can't have her playing the dedicated wife. He abused her and now he will try to woo her...what if this is another one of his tactics to play with her and manipulate her again.

One thing I will be extremely pissed about is if they never reveal that Samrat sleeps with prostitutes and the truth remains hidden.
I hope if nothing else, that will put the final nail in the coffin for that relationship.
Really want to see Urmi get a divorce. This is the message the show should be sending - women who are suffering in their marriage and are abused should get a divorce and move on in life.

Saw something that made me think of Samrat:

I agree with your post. Well said. Urmi should file divorce , and get her right what she has . Cvs cannot and no more show this nonsense of woo someone .

LOVE your post; I would feel extremely sickened if Urmi does fall in love w/ Sam and decides to stay with him.
Its one thing to stick with a man who yells at you or taunts you; but a man who CHEATS on you with prostitutes and literally beat you up so hard that you were almost dead - sorry, nope...this is sending a very very dangerous message.

Just because a man is good-looking or rich does NOT mean that he should get away with this abuse and torture or that his wife/partner should overlook it. And if kids are involved, then it becomes even more important to get away from a physically abusive husband.

But of course, there are always people both in real life and fans of reel life who just want to see their 'favorite couple' together regardless of how downright inhumane the male lead has acted. Its regressive to call it a "love story" when clearly there is little love and more torment going on. And we can't ever justify it by saying, "chill...its just a tv show.." because popculture/tv/movies have a huge impact on societal culture.

I won't be surprised if his idea of wooing comes from the love and respect Urmi had for him at the beginning of their marriage and now he wants to emotionally manipulate for her to once again become his puppet.
A man like Samrat should not be seen doing this (wooing) and allowing the female viewers who are watching to swoon. It's downright disgusting given his actions.

Thank you! I feel the same! Samrat is just disgusting. Sometimes I wonder if the writers intend to send the right message and sometimes the things they write contradict everything. What I'm wondering is if they decide to go the "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me route"...

I totally agree! Abuse and rape underplayed in serials makes my blood boil! Granted that the show is a work of fiction and you don't want to send a social message, at least give your protagonist some self respect!

👏 I feel the same! I always say that you can be how beautiful/handsome on the outside, if you have a nasty personality you are truly an ugly person.

I've seen it happen so many times; makes me think that the way they can watch the show reflects the way they think in real life too - repressively. It may sound irrational to be arguing over a show but you know what they say, life imitates art!

You reply has summed up so many problems I have with this show and the reactions of so many fans! Really hit the nail on the head with this one. I can relate so much.

I agree.

I don't want Samrat and Urmi to remain married. Urmi deserves so much better. Samrat is a disgusting person who needs to be punished.

On a similar note, I think the writers are afraid. In Indian serials, I think a woman being submissive to her husband even with abuse is more accepted (within audiences) than a woman taking action and getting a divorce. Divorce is still seen as taboo in many places. I think that's why the CVs are stalling on it and having Samrat wooing her back and stuff. But part of me is hoping that its all just a technique from the CVs to show how the relationship is finished and can never be repaired, leading to divorce.

I second this..m not for the wooing track...if they are going to show something like this, the whole idea of standing up form women who face domestic violence will go down the drains.if they will show something like this, then its a utter nonsense...people like samrat wll nor change.i wanted a track where she would divorce samrat, become independent n then the entry of ishaan...always wanted ishaan and urmi's pairing.ishaan marrying urmi wll b a slap on samrat's face.

this is right... they should either show it totally oppressed or urmi taking an action fully..

and for the prostitute track.. there are yet a lot of things to be revealed.. one day this topic will come at front too 😉 n i think that day urmi will actually leave samrat
