Sk looks simple,thinks and acts simple......these days the trend is to admire the go getters...The old value of "simplicity is the best virtue "is lost...today's youngsters may not relate with SK's character.
He has a strength of character.
1. He doesn't hide anything about himself. He told everything about himself and admired the same characteristic in Preeti when she tells she has some decease(though it is a lie).
2. He tells Sneh latha that it is very important that Preeti should like him.
3.He refuses to take dowry.
4. He respected Preeti when she told her he is not her choice.
5.He doesn't feel hesitant to tell he only played gilli danda and likes only daal bath when Rishi was showing off.
6. he takes on the responsibility as the eldest son and does his best irrespective of how the step mom is.
7. He understands his stepmom is very insecure person and her agressiveness comes out of her insecurity...so he simply chooses to ignore it.
8. He supported Preeti and talked on behalf of her to his step mom.
9. when he can help somebody he just acts and helps.
10. Lastly what he says and what he does match perfectly.
. He doesn't believe in dowry system...he didn't take and he doesn't want to give. When your actions match with what you are thinking and what you are doing......that person is not a coward

In SK's position it is an easy way out to fulfill all his mom's wishes by just letting her take dowry from Preeti's parents. He was never tempted......he could have taken the money from the bank manager in the hospital..he never did. Anybody in his place can easily react to his step mom's behavior..he chose to ignore it....Only a strong person can control temptations and anger.
He is a fallower of Swami Vivekananda....If Vivekananda is alive he will be proud of Sk's strong character.
It is very easy to shout back at the step mom and remind her he is the one who is putting the food on the table.
It is very easy to tell Preeti to either accept him as husband or leave him......But he doesn't choose an easy way out for any problem. He faces the problems like a real man. Like a hero. He is far from a coward or a sissy.
