The operation was still in progress. Raghu was pacing the hall. Pain..fear..worry..and tension was visible in his eyes. Geeta tried to comfort him but no use. With saddened face and a weeping heart..he kept on pacing the hallway. "Meri miss kaul theek ho jaaye bass. He said. The light above the door of the room turned off. The trio ran to the door as the doctor came out. "Meri Antara kaysi hai doc saab? "Theek hai na woh? Raghu asked impatiently. "Operation was a success lekin..."Lekin kiya? Raghu asked as his whole body trembled badly out of fear for his miss kaul. "I'm sorry the patient is in coma aur agar hosh aa bhi jaaye toh she might lose her memory. Geeta and dr kaul sat on the bench with a thud. Raghu was paralyzed for a moment. His back hit the wall as tears streamed down his cheeks. "Ye nai ho sakta! "Antara!!!! He screamed as he fell down on his knees and cried. His voice echoed in the hospital building. "Patient will be shifted to a room soon..you can see her then. Doctor said and left. Raghu felt like the life was leaving his body. He felt like an invalid. Crippled. .paralyzed. .and in total shock..he died a million death that day.Devasted Raghu slide down on the floor. "Ek hii toh bachee thii meri..ussey bhi may kho chuka hu Geeta. Dr kaul cried. "Aur apun apna sabkuch kho chuka hu. Raghu said as he held his head with his hands. Antara was moved to a separate room. "Beta tum antara se mil lo. Geeta said to Raghu. Raghu got up and headed towards her room. Antara was lying lifeless on the bed. Raghu sat on the bed and took her hand in his. Raghu glanced at her face. Eyes closed..she looked pale. Raghu sobbed sitting there. Raghu noticed his black cord with the sword locket hanging from her other hand. She was holding it securely in her palm.His heart wrenched. He brought her hand to his lips. "Terey ko wapas aana parega miss kaul..apun mar jaayga terey bina yaar! Painful cries escaped his mouth. There was no movement in Antara at all.Raghu was broken..shattered and his world seemed to stop as he cried holding her hand. Dr kaul and geeta entered. They were shattered seeing their daughters condition. Raghu wasn't moving from there..he kept on sitting holding her hand dont know for how long. "Mom aap papa ko lekar ghar jaaiye..may aaj raat idharich rukunga Antara ke paas. Raghu said to Geeta. First time Raghu has addressed them as mom and papa. Geeta caressed his head lovingly. "Theek hai beta..kuch bhi toh humey phone kardena. Geeta said and left with Dr kaul. Raghu called his maa and told her everything. Maa couldn't stop crying. .even papa was devastated. "Maa tu sambhaal apney aap ko aur papa ko..may subha ghar aata hu. Raghu hang up and came back in Antara's room and sat on the bed holding her hand. Whole night he was wide awake..caressing and kissing her hand.
Time was flying. Its over a month and Antara still didn't wake up. Raghu spends most of his time with her. Talking to unconscious Antara for hours and hours. Her wound from the surgery was completely healed. But she never regained consciousness. Raghu's maa and papa visits Antara every second day. Dr kaul and Geeta left Antara in God's hands. Raghu never lost hope. He believed that Antara will wake up someday and he was ready to wait for ever for that day to come. He was only doing all this for his miss kaul. He sold his farm...he finished his business studies which Antara wanted him to do..transferred the family business on his name..he even started to build a house for Antara in a very beautiful place which was close to his office. Papa used to be a expert in business and stuff so he was supporting his son along the way. Everything was going as Antara wanted but she wasn't there to see. Raghu's first day of office. .he came to see Antara first. Raghu said while kissing her hand . Geeta and Dr kaul was watching them from the doorway. Raghu took blessing from Geeta and Dr kaul. "Jeetey raho beta..khoob taraki karo. Geeta said. Raghu left towards his office. He never smiled or laughed since Antara went in coma. Raghu has forgotten to smile long time a go. First day at work was crucial for raghu..but papa was very helpful. "Dont worry beta dheerey dheerey sab seekh jaaogey. Papa encouraged him. That evening Raghu came to see Antara. She was hooked up to various machines and the doctors were reading something on the machines screen. "We should do some tests before we can confirm anything. One of the doctor said. "Is everything ok doctor? "Kiya huwa Antara ko? Raghu asked worriedly." Tests ke baad hi hum kuch kay saktey hai. Doctor replied. Raghu waited outside as the doctors did some tests on Antara. Suddenly Raghu's heart beat rose. He felt sudden excitement in his belly. He couldn't understand what was happening to him all of a sudden. Raghu entered the room when the doctors left. "Results aaney tak aap antara ke paas rahiye. Doctor said to Raghu. Raghu sat on the bed..he looked at her." Kiya ho raha hai tujhey antara? "His voice choked and eyes moistened. "Wapas aajao na..apun bilkul akela hai terey bina..mar raha hu may pal pal. Raghu wept. Suddenly raghu felt a force pulling him towards Antara's belly. Automatically Raghu's hands reached out and touched Antara's belly. He caressed her tummy lovingly. Antara shook suddenly. .her body began to revive. .blood started to run in her veins and nerves. Her pulses started to beat. Raghu jumped up and screamed for nurses and doctors. Doctors came running inside. "Raghu your wife is coming out of coma! Doctor said. Raghu laughed in a very long time. He was the happiest person on earth right now! Raghu kept on holding her hand as Antara shook her head from this side to other. One of the doctors came inside with the test results. "We were right..congratulations Raghu your wife is pregnant! Raghu couldn't believe what he heard. He froze for a moment. "Because of the baby her brain is fighting to bring her back. Raghu was speechless. His tears streamed down. "Itni bari khushi woh bhi apun ki naseeb me? Raghu's tears just flowed. He again touched her belly and this time as soon as Raghu touched her belly..Antara's body jerked and she opened her eyes! "Yes! The doctors said. "She made it! Raghu took her in his arms and cried. "Mereko patah thaa ki tu wapas aaygi..aur dekho tu aa gayee! Raghu kissed her like a mad! Suddenly Antara pushed him with all her might. "Kaun ho tum? "Aur ye sab kartey huwey tumey sharm nai aati? Antara's words startled everyone present there. Raghu stood up. "Tu merey ko nai jaanti? He asked worriedly. "Nai jaanti may tumey..aur door rahey kar baath karo tum samjhey? Antara screamed. She looked around the room. She seemed lost..distracted and confused."May kaun hu? "Naam kiya hai mera? She asked with confused expression. Doctors took Raghu outside. "Your wife's having a memory loss. .sabkuch bhool chuki hai woh..kuch yaad nai ussey. Raghu's eyes widened. "We cant force her to remember anything. .wakt ke saath saath woh khud theek ho jaaygi..humey usko wakt dena chahiye..aur she's one month pregnant too..har haal me ussey khush rakhna hoga. The doctors told Raghu. "She can go home tomorrow. Holding his head Raghu sat on the bench with a thud. Dr kaul and Geeta came running when they heard the knews. They met Antara but she couldn't even recognize them. It took so much time to convince her that she was their daughter. Dr kaul told raghu that Antara will stay with them at kauls house. "Jab tak woh puri tarah se theek nai ho jaaye woh humarey saath rahegi. Dr kaul said. Raghu never expected all of this." Raghu couldn't say anything. .he was motionless. "Tum roz aakar ussey mil lena. Geeta continued. Raghu glanced at Antara from the doorway and left with a broken heart. Going home he collapsed on his mother's lap. He told her everything. ."woh mereyko bhool chuki hai maa! "Apun ka baccha uskey pet me pal raha hai..woh kaysey merey ko bhool sakti hai maa? "Wakt ke saath sab theek ho jaayega tu himat mat haar. Maa gave him hope. Raghu cried his heart out.
