September 12, 2013 (13 weeks pregnant)
Raghu started his car and began to drive home all the while getting lost in his thoughts. Ajji and Rukhsaar were out to visit a relative in Dubai for two months because he did not want them to miss out on the holiday he said they could go on so sent them to some relatives in dubai. He fully expected Antara to be passed out when he came home. In fact, that's all she had been doing for the last 3 months. Sleeping. And eating.
His heart broke for her when he saw how tired she was when he came home from work each day. The truth was he was tired too. The project of the girl's boarding school was taking a toll on him too. He was working over time. He hoped that Antara wouldn't find out that along with visiting relatives in Dubai, Ajjji and Rukhsaar (part shareholders of Naik Constructions) were attending meetings on his behalf aswell as being in holiday and helping the orphanage project
this way he wouldn't have to travel. They had agreed to go when they had seen how reluctant Raghu was to leave Antara or take her with him After their first visit with Dr. Patel, they had a new found faith. The first heart beats that they heard, that's when he knew. That's when Gods strength poured into the couple, giving them strength to embrace parenthood again
But when he had heard about the twins, he had felt the wind rush out of him. Normally, you would think that since the news of one baby had scared them so much, the news of two babies would give them heart attacks. But it was the opposite for Raghu He felt giddy. He remembered how he had hugged antara and lifted her and twirled her around in the room. He had hugged Dr. Patel and shook her hand vigorously. Antara was jumping up and down. He smiled as he remembered what Dr. Patel had said, "Most people are happy that they are pregnant with one baby and scared when they find out they are having twins. Not the other way around."
"But then again, since when is my relationship with Antara normal?" Asad thought as he parked his car outside his house. He opened the door quietly as he thought that antara would be sleeping but he was surprised to see the state of his house. His jaw dropped.
There were jeans everywhere. And tops were just tossed around. Dresses on the floor Most of them inside out. "Be calm. Count to three." He braced himself. "Antara!" He called out.
He found her in their room. Wearing Ajjis night gown. She was crying in the corner of the room hugging Raghus shoe. "Why the hell is she hugging my shoe?" Raghu thought. He sighed.
He sat down next to her. Apparently, she didn't want him near her because she threw the shoe she was holding at him. Raghu caught the shoe. Even though he was surprised, he didn't yell at her. This only made Antara cry harder. She reached around and grabbed Raghus tie and hugged it and continued to bawl.
"Should I say something? What if it is the wrong thing to say? Why is she awake anyway? Shouldn't she be in bed?! Wait no! Don't say that. She'll cry harder. So what do I do? JUST SIT HERE. Don't move. Let her cry it out." He finally decided. He shifted so his back was against the wall and he wrapped one arm around Antara. She leaned into his shoulder and just cried.
After a few minutes she stopped.
"Bunty" raghu began. "Why are you hugging my tie?"
"Because blue is my favorite color." Antara replied in between sniffles.
"OH YES! That makes perfect sense. So sit here and cry hugging my blue tie you friggin' lunatic!" Raghu thought.
"Oh okay. And Buntymy shoe?" Raghu asked, treading carefully.
"Because it's so BIG!" Antara answered. She picked up her head and looked at Raghu with widened eyes. She was so amazed by a stupid shoe.
"Dear lord." Raghu thought. He kissed Antara on her forehead. She gently put her head back on his shoulder and smiled. Raghu reached over to the nightstand and grabbed the TV remote. He turned on the TV and switched to cartoon network where Johnny Bravo was playing. After an episode of the Loony toones and Ed, Edd, and Eddie Raghu broke the silence. "So why are you wearing ajjis night gown?" He finally asked.
Antara frowned as she looked up at him. She tried to stand. But was hiving difficulty getting up. So Raghu swopped her up in his arms and placed her on the bed. As she sat on the edge, he knelt down and put his chin on her knees. She slowly and carefully lifted her gown a bit to reveal swollen feet. But there were also veins that had popped up. The kind you see on old women. Raghu looked up at her and saw tears forming.
She then placed her hands on her lap. It was then, that Raghu saw what had truly upset Antara.
He saw a tiny bump forming. It all made sense to him then. Her clothes didn't fit. The jeans were too tight. The tops were stretching near her abdomen and rhe dresses were too tight too. He looked up at Antara and smiled. He kissed her forehead. Her cheeks. Her stomach. He snuck his hands towards the soles of her feet and rubbed them. After a few minutes, the swelling went down significantly. Antara smiled at her husband tears forming in her eyes. How had he understood so much when she had said so little? She ruffled his hair.
As she moved to get up and out of bed. He pinned her back down. Then she remembered. The doctor told her not to get up too fast because she was prone to dizzy spells. "Go take a nice long shower Antara, I'll get dinner." Suddenly realizing how tired she truly was She got up slowly without protest and headed for the shower"
She truly thanked her lucky stars at how she had gotten Raghu as a husband. When she came out of the shower wearing another one of Ajjis gowns, she saw that all her clothes had been folded and put in boxes. Raghu was sitting on the bed with dinner at hand.
"Come here. Sit. And eat." Raghu made a motion to feed Antara but he was stopped.
"You think I don't know how tired you are either?" Antara said as she fed Raghu. She continued to feed both him and herself until dinner was done.
As Raghu put the dishes away, Antara waddled up behind him in the kitchen and hugged him. He smiled and turned around and took Antara in his arms and kissed her softly on the lips. It seemed that these days they were so in sync with one another that they didn't need words to talk to one another. There were many evenings like these where they would barely speak words to one another but grow so much in their relationship.
As the couple walked hand in hand back to their room, Antara noticed for the first time a pile of bags on their couch. She looked at Raghu puzzlingly before going to check them out. Raghu climbed into bed, and sat against the headboard. She unwrapped the bags to find jeans. Only these jeans had stretchy thick white bands around them. Maternity jeans. The other bags had tops that were flow-y and a bit big. Maternity wear. This time Antara was crying for a different reason. As she climbed into bed next to Raghu hugging him with his head on her shoulder, she asked, "When did you buy these."
"the day after my birthday." He replied before falling asleep instantly in Antaras arms.

September 19, 2013 (Week 14)
It was early morning and Antara was already up and out of bed. Her belly was a little bit bigger that it was normally meant to be but still not big enough to show visibly that she was pregnant. People would just think she is a bit chubby. She took an extra long shower as her body had starting aching everywhere. She let the warm water sooth her aching back and swollen feet. She got ready and thought thank god for those clothes. In the past few weeks, nothing from Antaras old wardrobe fit her anymore. She was gaining weight, no one could deny that.
