Sandhya was busily writing her class notes. She had gone back to college only today after function in Maasa's Village. Sandhya was tensed. There was a class test tomorrow and she could study only after completing the notes. After coming home she was busy with housework, she wanted to ask Chavi whether she will help her with the class notes. After all she just had to keep a carbon paper while she was writing. But when she checked Chavi was happily on phone , chatting away with Dilip. Hence Sandhya decided not to disturb her. She was struggling and exasperated when Sooraj came to the room and pour out her frustrations to him
" Soorajji kal mein test mein pass ho javun wohi mere liye bahut kuch hain". Hearing this Sooraj was not happy. He told " Kya kah rahi hain Sandhyaji, aap bas pass hona chahthi hain, mere taanedarni ko tho awwal number mein aana hoga".
" Mazak chodiye Soorajji. Aap muj par bahut umeed rakte hain. Maine abhi abhi notes complete kiye. Dekhiye dus baje ho gaye. Ab mein kab padke awwal avungi"
Sooraj held her by shoulders. " Sandhya Kothari par uske papa bahut umeed rak sakte hain. Lekin agar Sandhya Rathi par uska pati umeed raktha hai tho kahti hain Mazak kar raha hoon. Chaliye aap padiye. Main yahan baitunga. Apko jitna der chahiye baitar padiye. Main aapke saath hi hoon"
Now Sandhya was concerned. " Nahi Soorajji , mein awwal aane ki koshish karungi. Lekin aapko baitne ki saroorat nahi hain. Aap so jayiye" . " Nahi Sandhyaji. Mein aapke saath hi baitunga" told Sooraj.
Now Sandhya became like a teacher disciplining a disobedient student. " Nahi Sooraji, aap so jayiye". Telling this she dragged him to the bed. Made him lie on that. Took the bedsheet and tucked him in.
Then she went to her table and tried to switch on the table lamp. It was not switching on . She tried all tricks known to her. Lamp was not switching on. " Ab mein kya karungi. Room mein light hain tho Soorajji aaram se so nahi sakte. Lagta hai is lamp ka bulb fuse ho gaya." She was lost in thougths and suddenly startled seeing a lighted lantern in front of her. Sooraj was holding it.
" Sandhyaji aap iske saath padiye or mein yahan so jaata hoon. Tho aapki sidh bhi puri, meri sidh bhi puri." Sandhya knew there was no point arguing with him. Sooraj switched off the lights, dragged a chair and placed his head on the table and started looking at her. Sandhya also opened her book and started studying.In between they stole eye glances and smiled. However after sometime Sandhya was so engrossed in her studies and Sooraj was finding it difficult to keep his eyes open.
Sandhya didn't know how the time flew. By the time she managed to cover most of the topics and looked at the clock it was 3am. She thought " ab so jaati hoon, baki subah utkar dekh loongi". Then she looked at Sooraj. He was in deep sleep. Sandhya was in dilemma. Ye tho achi tarah so rahe hain, inhe utana teek nahi honga. Lekin ye yahan aise soye or mein vahan bisthar par kaise sovun" She thought for a second. Then she dragged her chair towards him, switched off the lantern and placed her head on his shoulders.
As the first rays on the sunlight penetrated their room Sooraj opened his eyes. He felt a weight on his left shoulder. As he turned he saw Sandhya sleeping on his shoulders. He thought not to disturb her, but she was awake and was getting up.
" Sandhyaji aap aise kyon so gayi. Aapo aaram se sona tha. Aapki pareeksha hain naa aaj"
" Soorajji mein aapke kandhon par soyi thi. Mujhe aaram ki koi kami nahi thi. " Sandhyaji aap.. haan mein badmaash hoon aur mujhe badmashi karna acha lagtai hai interrupted Sandhya.
" Vaise Soorajji mujhe kuch aur padne ke liye baki hain".
" Koi baath nahi Sandhyaji, aap padiye, mujhe dukaan mein kuch khas kam hain, aap jaane se pehle dookan aake chale jayiye"
" Kyon mein dookan kyun aavum, aur aap subah, subah dukan mein kyon bagthe hain"
" Sandhyaji mujhe badam ka halwa banana hai, meri patni ko jo pareeksha mein awal number aana hain naa" Telling this he winked at her and walked towards the door.
Sandhya's eyes were moist and she called " Soorajji" He turned and she told a little loudly " Soorajji wo ai ni"
Sooraj smiled and repeated her words "Sandhyaji wo ai ni. Ab waqt barbath math kijiye aur padiye" and he walked out of the room
Sandhya stood there happy and confident that she will be able to do well in her class test.
PS: This I created looking at that one Sandhya Studing pic. Anyways I will be back only on Thursday. Will miss all the live dhamaka in DABH this week. I am going to attend a wedding. Hope you all like this. Will create more when back đ
