Got this info from a friend ..
First phase of digitization which included ( Mumbai , Delhi, Kolkata and Chennai ) was done in 2012 ..
Second phase of digitization is almost done too, 75 million set top boxes in total were required as ..this phase includes 38 cities across 15 states ( Bangalore ,Hyderabad, Pune,Kanpur,Chandighar, Lucknow, Patna, Srinagar,Mysore,Coimbatore and Ahmedabad ) ..In each phase they keep increasing the number of set top boxes.

( last wednesday 12 million more set top boxes were added which marked the end of second phase digitzation ) ..DABH hit its peak last week which is 13.5 TVM ...No other show was this high 😉 ..last week JA also dropped .

Phase 3 expected to be completed by sep and phase 4 by dec 2014.

GEC Watch: Life OK shows hit peak ratings


Screen Awards clocks 9 TVM rating on Life OK. Besides, two of its weekend shows touch highest ever viewership in Week 4 of TAM 2014

Life OK's highest ever ratings was the highlight of Week 4 of TAM 2014 with a significant contribution from the telecast of the highly rated Screen Awards show on January 25, 2014. The channel's ratings were also propelled by two of its weekend shows - Hatim' and Shapath' - touching their highest ever viewership. Enthused by all-round performances of its shows, the channel is now eyeing a place among the top 3 slots with special episodes of its top running shows.


The Screen Awards hosted by Shah Rukh Khan this year was themed on real Heroes' of Bollywood' and kept itself away from double meaning jokes that gelled well with viewers and fetched 9 TVM which is better than the rating last year when the property was with Colors.


According to TVT data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 4 of TAM 2014 (January 19 - January 25) CS 4+, HSM markets, Star Plus continued to dominate the weekday programming with five of its shows in the top 10. Zee TV and Colors held two slots each, leaving one slot for SAB TV.


Colors continued to hold the top two slots during the weekend with Comedy Nights with Kapil' and India's Got Talent'. Life OK's Shapath' and Hatim' acquired No. 3 and No. 4 positions respectively.


Weekday toppers (all data in TVM, 000000's)

Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus retained its viewership over 13 TVM. The show recorded 13.3 TVM this week (last week 13.5 TVM).


Jodha Akbar on Zee TV returned to No. 2 with 10.1 TVM (last week 9.8 TVM).


Star Plus' Saathiya slipped one position to No. 3. The show fetched 9.7 TVM (last week 10.4).


SAB's Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma held No. 4 position with an average viewership of 9 TVM against last week's 8.8 TVM.


Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai on Star Plus held No. 5 position with an average viewership of 8.2 TVM (last week 8.8 TVM).


Balika Vadhu on Colors witnessed surge in its ratings and jumped three positions to No. 6 this week. The show garnered 7.2 TVM (last week 6.3 TVM).


Star Plus' epic series, Mahabharat, slipped one position to No. 7 this week. The show recorded 7 TVM (last week 7.5 TVM).


Pyaar Ka Dard Hai on Star Plus too slipped one position at No. 8 with 6.4 TVM (last week 6.5 TVM).


Qubool Hai on Zee TV was at No. 9 with an average viewership of 6.2 TVM (last week 5.9 TVM).


Sasural Simar Ka on Colors held 10th position with an average viewership of 6.2 TVM (last week 5.9 TVM).


Weekend toppers

Comedy Night with Kapil on Colors remained the most watched show of the weekend with an average viewership of 10.1 TVM (last week 11).


Colors' India's Got Talent dropped further in its third week recording 7.2 TVM (last week 7.9).


Life OK's Shapath witnessed surge in its ratings and the show jumped to No. 3 recording 5.0 TVM (last week 4.0).


Hatim on Life OK fetched 4.9 TVM (last week 4.8).


Sony's crime series, CID, fetched 4.4 TVM against last week's 4.0 TVM.


Nach Baliye 6 on Star Plus fetched 3.7 TVM (last week 4.4 TVM).


Sony's other crime show, Crime Patrol, jumped to 3.6 TVM (last week 2.7).


Dance India Dance Season 4 on Zee TV dropped to 3.5 TVM (last week 5.4 TVM).


Boogie Woogie on Sony recorded 2.1 TVM in its third week (last week 2.4).


Star Plus' crime fiction, Arjun, recorded 1.7 TVM (last week 2).


Bh Se Bhade on Zee TV fetched 1.7 TVM (last week 1.9).

GEC Watch: Star Plus clocks highest ratings recorded in history


In the first full week of extended six-day weekday programming, Star Plus breaks Star Sports' record of 645 million TVTs recorded for the World Cup finale week

Week 6 was historic in the Hindi general entertainment space with Star Plus recording the highest weekly TVMs in Indian television history by any channel with 728 TVMs. The channel took a huge leap on the back of extended weekday programming and the Star Guild Awards. The Monday to Saturday move to fiction worked exceptionally well with most shows growing their ratings while Star Guild Awards fetched 8.1 TVM.


According to data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 6 of TAM 2014 (February 2 - February 8) for CS 4+, HSM markets, Star Plus is not only led the pack with a huge margin but the channel is the leader in every slot in weekday primetime barring 8 PM. Zee TV held second position followed by Colors at No. 3, Life OK at No. 4, SAB TV at No. 5 and Sony at No. 6.


Star Plus took a giant leap by adding 101 million TVT which is a record jump for any GEC in a week. The channel clocked a record viewership of 728 million. The jump was propelled by the channel's move to six-day weekday programming and Star Guild Awards. With GTVM of 728 million, the channel had a relative share of 28.72% (last week 627 million TVT with 24.63% relative share).


Zee TV held the No. 2 position firmly and grew to 495 GTVM in week 6. It had a relative share of 19.53% (last week 468million with 18.38% relative share).


Colors dropped to GVTM of 424 million with a relative share of 16.73% (last week 447million TVT with 17.56% relative share).


Life OK too witnessed a drop in its viewership and recorded a Gross TVT of 344 million against last week's 387 million. The relative share of the channel was 13.57% in Week 6 of TAM 2014 against 15.20% in the previous week.


SAB TV fetched 292 million TVT with 11.52% relative share (last week 319 million TVT and12.53% relative share).


Sony dropped by 46 million GVTM this week. The channel recorded Gross TVM of 252 million. It had a relative share of 9.94% relative share (last week 298 million TVTs with 11.70% of relative share).

GEC Watch: Zee TV's Jodha Akbar tops chart; Colors' no-show in top 10 fiction list


Star Plus emerges as the leader in every slot in weekday primetime barring 8 PM with six shows in the top 10 list in Week 6 of TAM 2014

Zee TV grabbed the top slot among weekday shows with Jodha Akbar taking the No. 1 slot in Week 6 of TAM 2014. However, the highlight of the week was the performance of six-day fiction programming of Star Plus. The move became hugely successful and pushed Star Plus beyond the 700 million GTVMs mark which is a record television viewership in India. While Star Plus emerged as the leader in every slot in weekday primetime except 8 PM, the channel grabbed six slots in the top 10 weekday shows.


According to TVT data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 6 of TAM 2014 (February 2 - February 8) CS 4+, HSM markets, Zee TV held three slots in the top 10 list leaving one for SAB TV. After a long time, Colors had no show among the top 10 weekend shows.


Colors continued to hold the top two slots during the weekend with Comedy Nights with Kapil' and India's Got Talent'.


Star Guild Awards on Star Plus rated 8.1 TVM.

Jodha Akbar on Zee TV finally topped the chart by taking a huge jump in its viewership in Week 6. The show fetched an average viewership of 13.2 TVM (last week 11.1 TVM).


Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus slipped to No. 2 despite adding more viewers this week. The show recorded 12.4 TVM this week (last week 12 TVM).


Star Plus' Saathiya held the No. 3 position with 9.8 TVM (last week 10.2).


Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai on Star Plus jumped to No. 4 position with an average viewership of 8.2 TVM (last week 7.9 TVM).


Star Plus' epic series, Mahabharat, entered the top 5 club for the first time with 7.9 TVM (last week 7.1 TVM).


SAB's Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma slipped two positions to No. 6 with an average viewership of 7.6 TVM against last week's 8.9 TVM.


Pyaar Ka Dard Hai on Star Plus climbed three rungs to No. 7 by recording 7 TVM (last week 6.4 TVM).


Saraswatichandra on Star Plus was the new entrant in the top 10 club with an average viewership of 6.7 TVM (last week 5.9 TVM).


Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke on Zee TV slipped one position to No. 9 this week. The show garnered an average viewership of 6.6 TVM (last week 6.8 TVM).


Qubool Hai on Zee TV also slipped three positions to No. 10 with an average viewership of 6.4 TVM (last week 6.9 TVM).



Weekend toppers

Comedy Night with Kapil on Colors topped the weekend chart but the show witnessed a slight decline in its viewership. It garnered 7.3 TVM in Week 6 (last week 8.9).


Colors' India's Got Talent too witnessed a drop in viewership recording 5.9 TVM (last week 7.4).


Life OK's Shapath recorded 4.5 TVM (last week 4.6).

Hatim on Life OK fetched 4.2 TVM (last week 4.1).


Sony's crime series, CID, fetched 3.8 TVM against last week's 4.1 TVM.


Dance India Dance Season 4 on Zee TV had an average viewership of 3.7 TVM (last week 3.8 TVM).


Sony's other crime show, Crime Patrol, garnered 3.1 TVM (last week 3.1).


Fear Files on Zee TV was unmoved and recorded 2.7 TVM (last week 2.7).


Boogie Woogie on Sony dropped to 1.7 TVM (last week 2.8).

Star Plus reclaimed the top slot in weekday programming as its flagship fiction show, Diya Aur Baati Hum', topped the chart again after it was pushed to No. 2 by Zee TV's Jodha Akbar last week. The dream run of Star Plus of over 700 million GTVM continued for the second week in a row on the back of six-day weekday programming with the channel grabbing six slots among the top 10 weekday shows.


According to TVT data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 7 of TAM 2014 (February 9 - February 15) CS 4+, HSM markets, Colors bounced back with 2 of its weekday shows in top 10 while Zee TV was reduced to two shows. SAB TV continued with one show in top 10 list.


Weekend programming was again dominated by Colors. The premiere of R Rajkumar' on Sunday, February 9, delivered 11.5 TVM for the channel. It continued to hold the top two weekend slots with Comedy Nights with Kapil' and India's Got Talent'.

GIMA on Star Plus rated 4.3 TVM.

Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus regained its top position after a week. The show recorded 13.3 TVM this week (last week 12.4 TVM).


Jodha Akbar on Zee TV couldn't hold the top position it acquired last week, and slipped to No. 2. The show fetched an average viewership of 11.6 TVM (last week 13.3 TVM).


Star Plus' Saathiya held the No. 3 position with 9.9 TVM (last week 9.9).


Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai on Star Plus too held No. 4 position with an average viewership of 8.3 TVM (last week 8.2 TVM).

Star Plus continued to rule weekday programming with six shows in the top 10 list in Week 8 of TAM 2014. According to TVT data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 8 of TAM 2014 (February 16 - February 22) CS 4+, HSM markets, Colors retained two slots in the top 10 leaving one slot each for Zee TV and SAB TV.


Colors continued to hold the top two weekend slots with Comedy Nights with Kapil' and India's Got Talent'. DID Grand Finale on Zee TV fetched 6.1 TVM over three and a half hours.


The week saw two new weekend shows launched on Star Plus where its latest comedy offering, Mad in India', opened at 5.7 TVM while its thriller show, Ishq Kills', opened at 1.9 TVM.


The television premiere of Ramleela' on Sony garnered 9 TVM over three and a half hours pushing the channel to No. 4 in week 8.
