The above article seems reasonable with TVT/TVM numbers for week 49 of 2013 ratings as all the other websites suspiciously gave ratings in the old TRP points.

Seven out of top 10 fiction shows are on Star Plus

Star Plus managed to further strengthen its hold on fiction this week, with seven shows in the top 10 list.


In terms of overall gross ratings, while the channel continued to be No. 1, this week Colors went up to No. 2 pushing Zee to No. 3, followed by Life Ok, SAB and Sony.

GEC Watch: Star Plus dominates weekday programming with 7 shows in top 10


Colors' Bigg Boss enters top-10 club along with Balika Vadhu. Zee TV has two shows and SAB TV has one show among top 10 weekday shows in Week 50 of TAM 2013

Star Plus' dominance in weekday programming grew further with the channel holding 7 slots in top-10 shows in Week 50 of TAM 2013. Bigg Boss on Colors made the cut and entered the top-10 club along with Balika Vadhu. According to TVT data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 50 (December 8 - December 14) CS 4+, HSM markets, Zee TV held 2 slots and SAB TV had one slot in top-10 weekday shows.


Among weekend shows, Comedy Night with Kapil' on Colors remained the chart topper followed by DID 4' on Zee TV at No. 2. Sony's CID' stood at No. 3 followed by Nach Baliye 6' on Star Plus.


Bigg Boss 7' on Colors recorded 5.7 TVM in Week 50 against 5.3 TVM in Week 49.


Weekday toppers (all data in TVT in 000's)

Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus grew this week to 11.6 TVM this week (last week 10.2 TVM).


Jodha Akbar on Zee TV too strengthened its position at No. 2 and garnered 10.1 TVM in Week 50 (last week 9.4 TVM).


Star Plus' Saathiya retained its No. 3 position with an average TVM of 8.8 (last week 8.8 TVM).


SAB's Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma climbed one position to No. 4 recording an average TVT of 8.5 TVM against last week's 7.2 TVM.


Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai on Star Plus slipped one position to No. 5 despite adding more viewers this week. The show recorded an average viewership of 8 TVM (last week 7.5 TVM).


Star Plus' epic series, Mahabharat, strengthened its position at No. 6. The show recorded an average TVM of 7.4 TVM (last week 6.7 TVM).


Pyaar Ka Dard Hai held its viewership as well as No. 7 position with 6.7 TVM (last week 6.6 TVM).


Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke on Zee TV grew two positions to No. 8 this week. The show recorded 6.4 TVM (last week 5.9 TVM).


Saraswatichandra on Star Plus entered the top-10 club at No. 9 garnering 6.2 TVM (last week 5.6 TVM).


There were 3 shows at No. 10 with a viewership of 5.7 TVM. While Bigg Boss made the cut to enter the top-10 club, Colors' Balika Vadhu too made a comeback. Veera on Star Plus also fetched 5.7 TVM.



Weekend toppers

Comedy Night with Kapil on Colors remained the weekend chart topper with 7.4 TVM (last week 7.5 TVM).


Dance India Dance Season 4 strengthened its position at No. 2 recording a viewership of 5.1 TVM (last week 4.6 TVM).


Sony's crime series, CID, also grew further and shared No. 2 position with 5.1 TVM against last week's 4.2 TVM.


Nach Baliye 6 on Star Plus fetched 3.9 TVM (last week 3.9 TVM).


Sony's other crime show, Crime Patrol, averaged at 3.8 TVM (last week 3.8 TVM).


Boogie Woogie on Sony dropped to 3.6 TVM in second week after opening at 4.4 TVM.


Life OK's Shapath recorded 3.1 TVM against last week's 3.5 TVM.


Colors' thriller, 24, recorded 2.9 TVM (last week 2.5 TVM).

Fear Files on Zee TV fetched 2.6 TVM (last week 2.9 TVM).

Bh Se Bhade on Zee TV witnessed a slight drop in viewership this week and fetched 2 TVM (last week 2.3 TVM).


Star Plus' crime fiction, Arjun, recorded 1.8 TVM (last week 2.2 TVM).

GEC Watch: Star Plus reduced to 5 slots in top-10 weekday shows; Bigg Boss boosts Colors


Zee TV and Colors have two shows each in top 10 while SAB has one show. At the weekend, Comedy Night with Kapil grows further in Week 51 of TAM 2013

The dominance of Star Plus was reduced to five slots in the top 10 weekday shows but its top shows added huge viewership. According to TVT data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 51 (December 15 - December 21) CS 4+, HSM markets, Zee TV and Colors had two slots each while SAB TV retained one slot among the top 10 weekday shows.


Week 51, the second last week for Bigg Boss 7' on Colors, touched its peak during the week. The flagship reality show recorded 6 TVM in Week 51 against 5.7 TVM in Week 50.


Among weekend shows, Comedy Night with Kapil' on Colors witnessed a huge jump in viewership.

Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus strengthened its leadership and recorded 12.2 TVM this week (last week 11.6 TVM).


Jodha Akbar on Zee TV held its viewership and No. 2 position with 10.1 TVM (last week 10.1 TVM).


Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai on Star Plus jumped two positions to No. 3. The show recorded an average viewership of 9.4 TVM (last week 8 TVM).


Star Plus' Saathiya slipped one position to No. 4 with an average TVM of 9.3 (last week 8.8 TVM).


SAB's Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma slipped one position to No. 5 despite a significant jump in its viewership. The show recorded an average TVT of 9.1 TVM against last week's 8.5 TVM.


Star Plus' epic series, Mahabharat, touched its peak ratings this week and retained its position at No. 6. The show recorded an average TVM of 7.7 TVM (last week 7.4 TVM).


Pyaar Ka Dard Hai held its viewership as well as No. 7 position with 6.6 TVM (last week 6.7 TVM).


Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke on Zee TV was at No. 8 position with 6.5 TVM (last week 6.4 TVM).


Balika Vadhu on Colors recovered this week and came in at No. 9 garnering 6.2 TVM (last week 5.7 TVM).


Bigg Boss on Colors retained its position in the top 10 club with an average viewership of 6 TVM (last week 5.7).

GEC Watch: Record ratings for Bigg Boss 7 finale; Star Plus crosses 600-mn mark

Bigg Boss 7 Finale rates 9.6 million TVT. SAB overtakes Life OK to take No. 4 seat in Week 52 of TAM 2013

Hindi general entertainment channels ended 2013 on a high note as the genre grew by over 4 per cent in Week 52 of TAM 2013 over the previous week. The last week of the year saw Star Plus crossing the 600-million mark with Colors touching its highest ever ratings in TVT by adding maximum viewership.


Colors' growth was backed by highest ever viewership for Bigg Boss 7 finale which rated 9.6 million TVT this year.


Elated with the record viewership for Bigg Boss 7 Finale, Manisha Sharma, Weekend Programming Head - COLORS, said, "The Bigg Boss Saath 7 Grand Finale was by itself, a phenomenon that had audiences the world over, eagerly awaiting the winner announcement with bated breath. It had all the makings of a masaledaar' blockbuster including power-packed performances by the contestants and the host Salman Khan himself. This season has been the most watched, most buzzed and most trended season of all times. We are ecstatic with the response that the Grand Finale has garnered, not only in terms of TVTs but also with the kind of conversations that were generated across social media platforms. We would like to thank our audiences, advertisers, marketers, Endemol and the team at COLORS for making this season a thumping success."


According to TVT data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 52 (December 22 - December 28) for CS 4+, HSM markets, Zee TV strengthened its No. 3 position. SAB TV overtook Life OK to become the No. 4 channel. Sony remained at No. 6 despite adding more viewers this week.


Star Plus continued with its growth momentum and became first channel to cross the 600-million mark. The channel recorded 606 million TVT with a relative share of 24.34% (last week 599 million TVT with 25.1% relative share).


By adding maximum viewership for the second consecutive week,Colors touched its peak ratings in TVT. It recorded a gross viewership of 527 million. It had a relative share of 21.16% (last week 488 million TVT with 20.45% relative share).


Zee TV added a viewership of 22 million in its Gross TVT. The channel fetched 431 million TVT with a relative share of 17.31% (last week 409 million with 17.14% relative share).


SAB TV overtook Life OK after several weeks to claim No. 4 seat. The channel fetched 330 million TVT with 13.25% relative share (last week 309 million TVT and 12.95% relative share).


Life OK slipped to No. 5 with Gross TVT of 324 million against last week's 326 million. The relative share was at 13.01% in Week 52 against 13.66% in the previous week.


Sony witnessed a significant jump in viewership by 17 million in Week 52. The channel recorded a Gross TVT of 272 million. It had a relative share of 10.92% relative share (last week 255 million TVTs with 10.69% of relative share).

GEC Watch: Big Star Entertainment and Colors Golden Petal Awards steal the show


As TAM's annual universe update takes effect, the universe size of HSM moves to 212 million from 206 million from Week 1, 2014

As TAM's annual universe update takes effect, the universe size of Hindi-speaking markets has increased to 212 million from 206 million from Week 1, 2014. The Digital-Analog split of the universe is now at 69:31 against 66:34 in 2013.


The New Year started on a high note for Hindi general entertainment channels with the top two channels - Star Plus and Colors - receiving huge viewership for their award functions at the yearend. While Big Star Entertainment Awards on Star Plus became the highest rated awards function ever with 12.4 TVM, Golden Petal Awards on Colors fetched 10.0 TVM.


Zee TV and SAB TV witnessed growth on the back of their fiction shows.


According to TVT data sourced from TAM subscribers for Week 1 of TAM 2014 (December 29, 2013 - January 4, 2014) CS 4+, HSM markets, Star Plus continued to dominate the weekday programming with five of its shows in the top 10. Zee TV strengthened its presence in the top 10 club with three shows, leaving one each for Colors and SAB TV.


The weekend programming was dominated by Comedy Night with Kapil' on Colors which witnessed further surge in ratings.


Among new shows, Beintehaa' on Colors launched at 3.2 TVM and averaged at 3.0 TVM over the week. Colors' second new fiction show, Rang Rasiya', opened at 3.6 TVM and averaged at 3.1 TVM.

Diya Aur Baati Hum on Star Plus again crossed 12 TVM in the first week of TAM 2014. The show recorded 12.8 TVM this week (last week 11.8 TVM).


Jodha Akbar on Zee TV grew further and fetched 10.9 TVM (last week 10.3 TVM).


SAB's Taarak Mehta ka Ooltah Chashma held No. 3 position with improved viewership of 10.3 TVM against last week's 9.9 TVM.


Star Plus' Saathiya hits a lifetime high of 10.2 TVM and held No. 4 position (last week 9.7).


Yeh Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai on Star Plus witnessed decline in viewership but remained at No. 5. The show recorded an average viewership of 8 TVM (last week 9.3 TVM).


Sapne Suhane Ladakpan Ke on Zee TV jumped four positions to No. 6 recording 6.9 TVM (last week 6.1 TVM).


Star Plus' epic series, Mahabharat, slipped one position to No. 7. The show recorded an average TVM of 6.8 TVM (last week 7 TVM).


Pyaar Ka Dard Hai also shipped one position to No. 8 with 6.6 TVM (last week 7 TVM).


Balika Vadhu on Colors dropped to No. 9 position garnering 6.6 TVM (last week 7 TVM).


Qubool Hai on Zee TV entered the top 10 this week with an average viewership of 6.1 TVM (last week 5.5).
