@ gina...now that sareeta has responded, i feel the need to vent my angst at the women you mention in your post. i have had the misfortune to know several of these women, who attend satsang, who boast about their religiou fervor, who expect subservience from those they have helped in the past, who expect their charity to get them the seat next to god in heaven...what is really surprising is that it is these supposedly morally superior women who with amazing uniformity squabble over trivialities that may never occur to the sensibilities of eveil vamps like you or i, who are devoid of such brilliantly noble deeds!!!

and i have forever questioned the true intent of these endeavours. it is never a call from within that prompts them into service of god or mankind. it is a mere attention seeking device and a scream for praise...those that are self motivated, and are genuine about social causes, i have noticed, never scream about it from rooftops and do their good work silently, never expecting a word of appreciation for what they do!!

@Aarti : Totally agree with ya...on your response to Notty and isnt this more on the same lines we discussed in the afternoon about Ridhima's throne of moral superiority being shaken only by Armaan at the moment and hence her immediate reaction to prove to herself that all is fine and erase away any sense of self doubt that must have creeped in... and not to forget ... to also prove to the man , to the mortal who dare to even question her sense of moral ... that her sense of morality is unquestionable and immaculate.. if I use that word really!
And I liked the bit about Ridhima finding herself incapable of responding to the basic signs of attraction, coz she is too clouded with that sense of pride being challenged..really! Aaah... hmm.... you've really got me thinking there... super point ....!!

*Edit after reading response to Gina*

I too have wondered , that if one is really genuinely helping one... what is the need to scream about it from the roof tops as many of these social activists do? What drives this kind of action? Sense of Pride again.. a need to feel great about self and for teh world to sing praises in their honor.. while they fan their pride with the praises? Oh dear... what a deplorable thought... leaves a sick feeling in the stomach... as thoughts wander to those unfortunate few who believe they are being really attended to ... and being cared for , by these hollow hearted mortals... feeding off on the sympathy for the lower mortals and fanning their self pride...!

@ sareeta...something that occured to me earlier today...and i meant to post ir here, but god knows how it slipped out. now reading your response to sareena (sanaya) and the word prank just jolted the idea back into my memory...

a clear comarison of the pranks they have pulled on each other...what is the most armaan has done? tricked her into thinking he was seriously hurt, bothered her with a few million pages saying her report was ready, called her to the morgue, gave her a stained towel to clean her face with...all juvenile little pranks, that were totally harmless...physiaclly and emotionally!!

now lets list ridhima's choices...summoning an army of ex girlfriends (could've become extremely bitter, thank god it didn't!!), announcing to all interns armaan was in love and then promptly ridicule his sentiments (derisive!!), displaying all his gifts of love to the entire hospital (mean and oh-so-derisive!!), getting that actress to slap him (could've caused serious injury, thank god it didn't), and finally the sexual assault...disgusting!

Aarti: Exactly the comparision that was running in my mind , when I had penned the post Derisive Pleasure and I guess... the sexual assault trick jus was the last straw, that jus confirmed that she indeed derived a derisive sense of pleasure ... out of her actions... Oh the wretched thought of it!

@ sareeta...yeah her choices are significantly more harmful than armaan's. armaan never seems to cross that invisible line between prank and and a bad joke! except perhaps his carelessness in accepting anajali's challenge. apart from that he has always displayed a maturity in picking the most childish of pranks possible.

but ridhima obviously also lacks a healthy sense of humour, because she just doesn't know where to stop. or perhaps she knows...that being the point of this post. she is always aware the effect her antics will have and if it goes really bad, she always has the cloak of 'joke' to hide behind, claiming all innocence!!!

Aarti: Everytime I watched Ridhima react to Armaan's pranks and retort in her style... I jus couldnt help but think ...

"If you cant take a joke on yourself.... dont dare to play one either on the other "

Mehak, Sneha : My reference was not only about the Molestation Gag, but was in general about her reactions to the pranks... all her so called pranks or getting even ... are caustic than plain naughty... and that is indeed saying something... the woman sure lacks the humor bone or it is seriously malfunctioning!
