Thanx! I have been enjoying all ur posts esp. the diss on the AR heaven a lot for the past one week. And I noticed that both u & sareeta do have a gift with words esp. feelings, expressions... She has done some really nice retrospectives on the yearnings for tender love deep inside the hearts of even no nonsense, self assured girls who believe its all a fools paradise- till they find theirs!! I was one such person till my knight-in-shining armour persued me in an almost armanesque fashion... so all the non-believers out there have faith 😉
Just one thing, I love the way Armaan never pushes the envelop with Ridz - the almost kiss on the basketball court is case in point. She is given in & he holds back & he knows it too.. Just so adorable

@ shakira...is shakira your real name? u shower us with compliments while i notice you are not exactly verbally challenged. may we dare to expect some meaningful posts from you too? its always nice to read relevant and different posts. and those who can should enrich the whole india forums experience.....

sareeta's romantic streak is infectious and marvellous. in fact while reading her posts i am, almost immediately, transported to the magical world of black and white movies!!!!

armaan is a thorough gentleman. and i love that about him. am tempted to say that he stopped himself on the court because he was smart enough to realise that while he was in knee deep in love, ridz was still testing the temperature with her toes, albeit enjoying it thoroughly. he wanted wait for her to wade across to him....

No! not my real name. Its sharika - just mixed the letters a bit. I am a voracious reader, as I believe are u. And like to pen down my thoughts some times. Tho' am far removed frm writing by prof (BE,MBA - consultant, banker etc..) Currently on a career break so enuf time to spare on DMG musings... While going thro' the posts 4 the pst week I felt like breaking my silence many times on reading ur, sareeta's or jenney's posts ... but it was this evolution which got me out of the sabbatical.
And no, I did not miss that look on Arman's face before he suggests the BB match. But like u said, the vulnerability on his face in the Lonavala scene is heartrending & was never there in their prior close encounters..
And I look fwd to some int conversations here..

it is quite amazing to trace that almost instant transformation on the court is it not? one moment we have armaan totally taken in by the moment. we can almost feel his heart beat quickening, his mouth suddenly becoming dry craving for that luscious contact, his knees going weak and and his breath deepening and then almost instantly the lopsided grin and the glint in his eyes are back. his dilated pupils shine with mischief. which is why to this day that remains my fav scene so far...

and to contrast it with the dance, you almost expect him to gulp or shudder when he is that close to his love!! the scenes were both so palpable in their romantic elements and so little was said. no room for any smugness anymore. our hero is in...hook line and sinker!!!!

interesting conversations there will be....now that i have found some like minded people here....looking forward to more meaningful interactions!!!!

Hey!! What I put in 2 lines u put in 2 paragraphs & practically play the whole scene in front of me!! That was put so beautifully. But you know I was quite astonished by that transformaton on the BB scene... cause it was very intelligent & sensitive direction by the creatives - almost like he wanted to leave ridz yearning for the contact, knowing she wanted it at that time(even if she wud have bashed him up later as she is prone to most times!! And somehow with the brainless stuff dished by the K serials one doesn't expect such subtlty.. In recent times the only other time I was so affected by a scene was while watching Leo-de-caprio (in The Departed)when he comes to the psychiatrist's (the one he is falling for)hse and she asks him, Is ur vulnerability for real, 'cause its freaking me out? And he knows he can never get her.. Its touching. Do watch it sometime if u haven't...

Vaarthi..thats a fabulous post!am also in ur bracket of peaple who is watching this show not for the romance or the actors.But like you i was also taken by the character sketch of the two in lead.
After Jai Walia(of Kasam se fame) ,the character of Armaan is yet another character who is well etched and portrayed and is dynamic.And the character of Riddhima is yet to evolve as boldly as Armaan's but i would like her to emerge a stronger individual.

About Karan,as you said his character is multi faceted.He is a confident young un blessed with good lucks and brains to go with it and has a lotta spunk and attitude.So far so easy for Karan,as he fits into this perfectly.

But when realisation dawns on him about having feelings for this girl who is not even his type,the change in him which completes his character is very well portrayed by Karan.Must say if he is not actually attracted to Shilpa he is doing a great job acting the part.His expressions ,gestures and voice are in tandem with his changing sentiments.

The brat Armaan was just intrigued by the attraction he felt towards this lady.But Armaan in love with Riddhima is overwhelmed desire,warmth,tenderness,concern,care and respect.All in equal measures!

Riddhima's character is also well sketched out but her personality has not evolved as strongly as Armaan's has.More so because her personality is veiled under the shadow of her father and sister.How her character evolves as an individual when left on her own to faces tough choices would be interesting to watch.Hope she would not fall into the quintessential role of self sacrifice to the extent of self butchering and even if she does hope Armaans character doesnt follow her lead... 😉

am so thrilled this post of mine has finally seen some response and not just empty ones, but of mature content!!!!

the departed is a movie am dying to watch. and now since it comes with ur recommendation, i must put it down on my must do list!!!! it grows by the day, as you would understand considering you have a baby too....

@ nottygarfield...i am really waiting for the creatives to add more dimensions to ridz's character. as u rightly said, she is currently stifled by the overbearing influence of her super successful father who she worships and her very confident, at times berating sister who tramples her oh so often.

the revelation of her adoption is ample opportunity for the creatives to allow ridz to develop a personality and come into her own!! we glimpses of a strong person in her occasionally, maybe now is the time for that inner strength to bloom!!

it would be a pity to see her wallow in self pity and take the proverbial sacrificial route, indebted to her foster family, further burdened by a sense of duty and gratitude, wriggling herself deeper into a quagmire of a lifetime of repression by people with stronger personalities!!

if she is to imagine a life with armaan she better evolve or risk facing armaan's ire because it does not seem like he has the patience to deal with her wavering mind. he seems to have recognised the potential strength in her and admires for the same. but i do believe he is poised to be piqued with her irrationality now!!

i feel like i have gone back 10 yrs in time, sitting in my lit class analyzing ophelia (from hamlet) or miriam (from d.h.lawrence's sons and lovers....). what an amazing feeling.
