The episode was fine. Better than yesterday's, at least.
The build-up of the hostage situation has been terrible. But the performances have sold it consistently. The writers shouldn't take that for granted though. The script should be able to support the actors' performances, not downplay them.
My issue with all episodes revolving around the hostage situation is that it lacks the sense of suspenseful horror that the writers have tried to provide. The situation could've been so intense, so power-packed, scary -- like a thriller or horror sequence -- but instead it's been full of illogical suspense and lack of character interaction/focus, other than V.
If the writers keep up this kind of weak/illogical and unstructured screenplay, then I think that they'll lose viewers. And I'm not talking about those viewers who have been as loyal as ever since the show started, but the new viewers who might've found the show intriguing -- had the episodes been executed nicely and had they lived up to the promos.
Moving on to the...
>> Pros:
1) Gayatri's steel-hard expression and her provocative words to V
Sumukhi rocks my world with her deadly expressions. I swear. I absolutely loved the way that she stared at V, unblinking, unfazed by his threats. There was disgust on her face as well as steely hardness and "bring it on, you psycho". Her low opinion of him was evident in her eyes. Fantastic.
Something else that I found awesome was how she egged him on. I wondered, just for a moment, if she was testing him -- to see how far he could go and what kind of psychopath that she was dealing with. It seemed that she was trying to figure him out. I loved how she kept pointing out that he'd never have Jahnvi, that they were divorced. Some might say it was a bad move -- but I found it a brave and clever move.
Gayatri made V insecure. She fazed him. You saw him lose control again which generally distracted him enough that, in that moment, if the cops had attacked -- he wouldn't have had the presence of mind to make a smart move.
The shots of V hitting Gayatri weren't shown, but it was obvious from her wounds that he had been abusing her. This is how low V can go without an ounce of remorse. Gayatri is old enough to be his mother, yet he treated her like a sacrificial animal. It doesn't surprise as we've all seen how he treated his own mother -- for years.
If the writers ever attempt to make me sympathize with this man again -- I swear *shakes head* It won't convince me, but what it will do is put the show and writers in a bad light. It would just be wrong.
One other thing -- note how Komal silently pleaded Gayatri to remain quite when she had started egging V on. Nice detail, realistic. I would've done the same as Komal, probably.
2) Komal's expression and Taashu's attempt at bravery
I loved Komal's glare. If eyes could kill, V would've dropped dead. Neha's performance is most commendable. Even when silent, she did a fantastic job with her expressions.
Taashu's attempt at bravery was awesome. She was scared crapless, but she still asked for mercy for her mother and Bhabhi. That showed the golden core of the Singh women. They're all lionesses and valiant -- even when death is staring them in the eyes. Brilliant. Taashu could've gotten more screenspace, but I am content with the fact that the writers at least considered her character in all this rather than just kept her silent throughout.
3) Raghav cracks when he hears his family scream
Fantastic scene. We saw a crack in his composed exterior and saw him react. He fought, battled the cops, in order to get inside. I love how he snatched the gun from one of them, mind set on finding V and finishing his pathetic life.
Directing-wise, it wasn't the best shot. But HC's performance sold it.
4) Raghav threatens V to bargain for his family's protection
Once again, we saw Raghav act. I liked how he said that if he heard even one sound from his family, he'd make sure that V never saw Sia's face in his life. V knows Raghav enough to know that he'll make good on his promise. That's another contrast b/w the two of them.
Plus the expression on Raghav's face meant business. He was two seconds from blowing V up with a gun -- should he hear another scream from Komal. I liked that we got to watch Raghav pull his emotions inward just as they were about to be set loose again. Sure, still rushed, but at least we got to see it.
Something else that I liked was how Raghav told the female cop to call for food, anything, and a doctor. I hope that the doctor that arrived was from the police force and not another civilian as he could be added to the hostage group at V's command as well.
5) V becomes abusive
Well, this was certainly in character. I was waiting for him to exercise his power over them all through violence and found it out of character that he hadn't for two whole episodes as he'd been alone with three women, bound and gagged -- just the way he likes them.
This is a pro because, as I mentioned above, it is in character for V to exercise his power through abuse of his victims, and it's an important detail that's been neglected earlier on.
6) The female cop tells the others to shoot V at sight
Finally. I was starting to believe that the female cop wasn't as clever/cool as I had thought her to be, but thank God [or the writers] that she proved me wrong. Telling the other cops to shoot V at sight without giving him a chance to bat his eyelashes was the first smartest thing she'd said ever since the entire hostage situation started.
This is what I mean when I say that the writers aren't stupid. They know the right way and the rational way of things, yet they insist on delivering episodes like yesterday's instead of giving us logic and character consistency. I fail to understand why.
>> Technical pros:
1) The shot of Komal lying on the floor
Fantastic shot. Frightening. Intense. I loved the way that her hair was spread around her head, the way that she stared up at the camera -- and the camera angle made the whole shot appear raw. Great job.
>> Cons:
1) The conversation b/w Baba and Sia
I'm sorry, but I gravely disliked it. First thing, it was all over the place. He talks about life in general, and then suddenly he's talking about love. Considering that he's a Baba, it would have had a stronger [and more realistic] impact if he'd spoken of life and human nature -- not true love and definitely not junoon.
What kind of message is that? Turn your love into junoon. If I'm not wrong, that is exactly what V has done and look at him. What Raghav/Sia share has nothing to do with junoon; it runs deeper and it's pure. It's not an obsession. Their bond is unique, and I really don't appreciate the writers trying to give out the message that it should be turned into junoon.
It especially made no sense coming from a Baba who is supposed to talk about life, God, etc., not junoon. The actor who portrayed Baba was awesome. The story was interesting. And I liked how he spoke of the journey of life. But the rest of his dialogues were horrible and not worked on at all. They were "lazy dialogues", really.
I would've liked him to ask Sia why she seemed so sad. I would've liked him to tell her in his own words that life is painful. And I would've liked Sia to reach the conclusion of how she doesn't want to sacrifice, but embrace the opportunity to love on her own rather than him preaching about love and whatnot.
Baba should've stuck to existential questions and guidance. But again, the writers rushed Sia's process -- she's supposed to go from love to crazy in love in a matter of episodes.
What saved the whole scene was Sia's monologue on the phone when she thought that Raghav was listening. That's all. They could've made the conversation with Baba intense and important, deeper, but they chose not to.
2) V abusing the women is just not frightening
You know that he's not going to fatally harm anyone. You know that he's only going to do as much as knicking Gayatri's throat with the sword or throw a few slaps -- what would've actually been frightening and made him unpredictable was if he'd thrown the chair down on Komal, shocking us all.
But, as per usual, I knew he'd stop short of it. I knew that he wouldn't do anything. It's the writers fault in the sense that they've exposed V so much that everyone knows V's a total chicken. He's predictable. And it takes away the fright.
3) The cops are useless
I know they'll be back in action tomorrow night as per the precap, but that doesn't diminish the fact that they've been useless for four episodes in a row. Gurgaon's doomed, I swear. The town's fate rests in the hands of men who didn't even care to check if their resident psychopath was under the blanket in his hospital room.
4) The abuse of Komal should've taken place in yesterday's episode
Self-explanatory. They could've shown the abuse in yesterday's episode, or in Friday's. It would've made more sense for him to target Gayatri alone in tonight's episode since she's the one who pushed all the buttons.
5) Why did Komal wince when V injected himself?
She's a doctor and has, in fact, injected a lot of people herself.
>> Technical cons:
1) The shot of Raghav struggling to get inside and the cops preventing him
Could've been shot from a more powerful angle.
2) Rushed sequences
Self-explanatory. I still don't understand -- what's the rush?
Done for tonight, peeps. Nite.

such hostage scenes can be dealt so well, here the writers seem to be lazy n intent upon dragging Viraj's scenes and hence we viewers too become lazy and not on the edge of our seat worried for the safety of the Singhs! well we are worried but the horror the fear isn't there...

how easily Viraj takes these 3 women, ties the ropes n then on the chairs then again takes them back in the room, wah! instead of showing how he combs his hair, concentrate on important characters n their thought process.

lovely work by Sumukhi, loved the disgust on the face of Gayatri, the same we all sane ppl have when we look at Viraj.

the moment the baba uttered the word 'junoon', it reminded me of the promo where viraj says it. is this baba another viraj bhakt or what? bad dialog.

just like HC saves Raghav so did SJ for Sia during the whole epi.

an episode should be such that we don't even think of changing the channel, here even when Viraj has these women hostage, I knew they will be safe n I could skip the scenes easily. Not that I want anyone to die, but atleast keep hold of your viewers!

so are we going to drag this whole drama till friday and on firday night sia gets stabbed/shot? oh no pls.

One thing I didn't understand...wasn't yesterday when V took the three women downstairs and hanging onto the ropes? Then, how was he able to get that back upstairs AT ONCE with also the police there as well? I just don't get it..

Fantastic feedback!👍🏼

In response to bold, I was completely baffled by that as well - more so then anything else in the episode ...then later I realized that the words he were saying were the same as in the background song. Baba says 'ishq, junoon' and then the song echoes 'ishq, junoon'. Maybe the writers didn't know what else to add so decided to steal tid-bits from the song. I can't think of any other reason why they would even think of adding 'junoon' into the Raghav-Sia equation. 🤪

Gayatri was the hero of the show for me today. Love this actress!👏

Shooting him down when he was freeing the women of said contraption or when he was abusing them is what I would have done; but then I have no desire to see this hostage scenario over the entire week - so I'm biased.

Don't you know V has super-powers we can't even begin to fathom 😉.

I missed commenting on yesterday's analysis. But I'm back now.
Pros:
  1. I loved Gayatri today. The way she stared at V and how she kept egging him on. She knew what kept him insecure and I loved that. And I was especially angry when I saw the wounds on Gayatri's face. V has no respect whatsoever. Komal knows how crazy V is and in her role I loved how she tried to keep Gayatri quiet.
  2. I did too. The way Komal stared at him I felt V would drop dead. And I have to praise all the Singh women. They're all so brave even after everything that is happening.
  3. Raghav is awesome. The anger, the frustration, and the crack. He cares for his family so much that he doesn't care what happens of him as long as his family is safe.
  4. Raghav knows V's weaknesses. And V knows that Raghav will keep true to his promises. Raghav means business and he will always business. The doctor is probably a ploy.
  5. V is staying in character. He's beating women who can't fight back.
  6. Finally!!! Finally!!! The female cop wakes up and does what she should have done before. Shoot V at sight.

Technical pros:

  1. The shot truly was awesome. Komal staring up at the camera and her hair spread out. The wounds on her face and everything else.

Cons:

  1. The convo annoyed me. I hated most of the message he was conveying. The main part that I liked was when he said that difficulties always come and humans should face them. That's all I liked. The rest was annoying. Sia's monologue was really sweet.
  2. I don't think it was frightening ever. I just felt like killing him every time he touched some women of the family.
  3. That's usually how the TV industry show cops.
  4. Exactly.
  5. Well it's probably because he did it to himself rather than getting someone else to do.

Technical pros:

  1. The scene was good, but I didn't like that the cops were blocking the camera.
  2. Too rushed.

the episode was good..i liked it..but they shoulda shown this yday or Fridays episode..bit late!! Still better late than never

I liked how everyone got a chance to act and say some dialogues even taashu. And g3 dialogyes and her fearless attitude towards him.

Highlight for me that stood out most was when raghav and viraj spoke and everyone heard why he said no to sia marriage, why he didn't make her stay. And I liked the raction on g3 face. I love seeing scenes between raghav and viraj and how raghav actually puts his mind to work on how to overcome viraj. I like how good and evil always battle, like fighting iron with iron. The Last few episodes did not show fire playing with fire lol.

Sia's scene shoulda been shown ages ago, the context was shown at wrong time! when I was watching this scene my mind was more interested in what was happening back in mansion I didn't/couldn't focus on her scene and thought processes. Plus when the baba guy mentioned junoon it instantly reminded me of that promo 'pyar umeed aur junoon' junoon, does that mean obsession? Because I didn't like that bit..as u say sia is virajs obsession I dnt want any lovers out there make their love for someone become an obsession. I don't understand hindi perfectly well so im not sure if im misunderstanding what he said.. can anyone tell me in english what the story was about lol

The lady cop and police force are annoying me. I have to admit she is a good cop but I agree with raghav they are not doing anything its like whole police force there.. do something! How can one have faith in police when they are clueless and asking raghav what shall we do next? Still out of everyone the lady cop is only one with brains. I find it weird shes the only female cop out of the whole force lol. I liked how she told raghav to phone sia, Best sia hears from raghav rather than viraj what the situation is. I dnt know if its me and im weird..but usually when I like someone I kinda memeorise their mobile number..is that just me being weird or does anyone else do the same thing lol.

Poor komal!! I felt for her, I wonder if viraj torturing komal make something trigger in komals mind the way dev hurt her...it would've been a nice touch seeing this drama serial is about DV.

Even tho the episode wasn't bad it still dragged I mean their all still locked up and gagged and beaten up. And no sia and raghav yet! This scene shuda been aired Monday. Ydays episode was waste of time. I cant wait what happens tomorrow plenty of action and drama...thats my umeed anyway haha

well... looks like this hostage drama isnt going to get over any time soon 🥱 however yestrday's episode cud have been completely avoided.. and tday's episode cud have been broadcasted yestday..

1) Gayatri's steel-hard expression and her provocative words to V

i knew u wud like this scene... infact it shd have been shown yestrday.. instead of v's rope drama.. infact that entire rope drama, him being shown drowsy were enacted for what purpose.. tday all three singhs were back in the bedroom, safely bound and gagged 🥱 gayatri is the second person after krish to predict that v will never get sia

2) Komal's expression and Taashu's attempt at bravery

i wonder.. taashu had tears, shock in her eyes, gayatri had concern, fear on her face when v was abusing komal, but komal herself was quite blank..
🤔 not one tear, expression of fear.. did the writers want us to realise that since komal had been abused by her hubby, she was used to this abuse and hence did not react or her reactions were rushed.. to accomodate the omnipresent v??

3) Raghav cracks when he hears his family scream
4) Raghav threatens V to bargain for his family's protection

HC was outstanding in this scene.. his expressions, brushing of his hair with both his hands, gave us the impression that he was helpless with worry, fear for his family which was missing in the whole of yestrday's episode😡

2) V abusing the women is just not frightening

v has abused almost all the women he has met .. with the exception of mrs awasthi ( maybe) both physically and mentally..🤢 i have never seen him abuse them without their hands, legs being tied, and mouth gagged..🤢 that in itself speaks volumes abt his cowardliness.. having a woman bound and gagged.. when she is less than half ur size.. 🤢

precap.. has me ..
😳 coz there is an entire fauj of police.. to topple a man whose hair was covering both his eyes..

I have not watched rest of the week.episode but today I watched only Raghav's part and skip rest because I knew that Viraj will torture all three women to death but will not kill them since his main aim to get Sia.

I completely agree with baba should not have described that your love should become junoon. I mean common promo is still on and what message cvs want to give viewers that Viraj loved Sia. I think channel should wind up this show instead of running as one man show. It is not going anywhere. We all know that Sia will come back on thursday episode and she will get stabbed on Friday episode. I did not like it when Raghav made another condition and Said to Viraj if he will hear one more scream from his family member then Viraj will not get his Sia. I mean why she already divorced him he does not hacve any right on her just like Raghav mon said.

It has never happen with me that I miss any single episode when my favorite actor HC in it. But it happens with this show. I am not able to digest certain fact that to show smart Viraj, cvs are making everybody act like stupid.

How coward Viraj is using three women as his weapon. Does he really care about woman at all? Does he has any respect for female?

What type of message CVs are giving here that do not try to run away from abusive, psycho, rapist, killer husband otherwise he will come back to haunt her and the people who had supported her in battle.

Instead of inspiring victim of DV to take action against him this show teaches them to stay with him and get torture but never leave because he will come back to harm.

I sincerely wish HC to quit this show. His talent is completely wasted here.

I was not able to reply to your feedback and today I got a chance but instead of that I just took out all my frustration here.
