After all, J did spell out that she had not the slightest romantic feelings for R, just a few weeks ago.
And that's my problem with the car scene. Not that it's an extra-marital affair. In fact if she were reciprocating his attraction and feelings I would be fine with it, regardless of her marital status. (No that doesn't mean I would be happy with that development, but I wouldn't have a problem with the car scene other than the fact that it's obviously contrived.) Even if she were officially divorced that car scene would've been a problem.
Here's why.
She doesn't have romantic feelings for R. People may want to argue, oh she does, she just doesn't know it yet, whatever. But at this point, it's my take that she has no romantic inclinations towards him.
Now Raghav knows her situation, knows that she has no feelings for him. And despite that scene being a contrived scene by the CVs, how it comes off is distasteful. Oh, he may not have been thinking and quickly did it. But the way he's touching her and the way his attraction is so obvious afterwards, that just leaves a 🤢 feeling. Had she also been attracted it would've been a different thing. But here she is just no reaction and awkward.
And it's worse because she knows he has feelings for her, so she's not clueless. It might have been better if she were clueless. Because see... she has no reaction to this. He's right next to her obviously attracted and she is just put in an awkward place. What can she do? This is the guy who's helping her, who's saving her, who's continuing to help and save her. The guy who's suffered from Viraj, the guy whose family have suffered from Viraj.
So take that into account, then her reaction or non reaction while he's on the other side obviously attracted--when I see it, it's uncomfortable and bothersome.
It was the CVs blunder to make such a contrivance. And sure Raghav the character did something without thinking and it was poor judgment on his part (which still leads back to, contrivance by the CVs). Nevertheless that's how the scene comes off to me.
Now I suspect I should be prepared for some fireworks. 😆 But naa, I've said it and that's it from me.
