It is all metaphoric .

Ritwik gives away rthe watch for Palak - he disowns his family for Palak .

Palak returns it to him - Palak will give his family back to him .

Palak steals the watch while fighting with goon.

Palak will reunite Ritwik with family by tricks and twists

Much of the drama in future will involve clash between Ritwik and his dad ( hence the similarity to K3G) and the watch was used instead of the ring.
