This is exactly like what happened on parent show. I remember how TRP was not even high, but always the credit went to one pairing as per some people. Then if the TRP went down, they would blame the other characters and actors. It was irony at it's best. If only one couple brings TRP then the show should have been in top 10 always. But people watch for story more than anything. So if the story gets interesting ratings go up. Couples are a bonus. Not the only thing. But some didnt see it that way. It's only the high drama that finally brought TRP, and bringing Saas bahu and Sautan stuff. Even villains. But defo not one couple.
Even here it's the same thing. RiKara ARE the main draw here, coz the story has focused on them from the start. But remember when Lana was too much in focus? The TRP went down. Those days RU was not even shown. The truth was Rudra and Saumya were supposed to be the 2nd leads of DBO and it was said many times not just by the Rudra "Promo" but also by Dadi, Shivaay and even Annika promos said it's about the "Ishqbaaazi" of the other two brothers. So this show was never meant to be only about Om and his love interest. Aka RIKARA.
I understand there are fans of the FL here who didn't know IB and didnt know OmRu. But that doesn't mean they consider Lee to be a side actor or Rudra to be a side character. He was even on the original banner of DBO with Om. The fact is the "Boys" where always the leads of both IB and DBO. That's the fact. The female leads are their counterparts. The guys are the leads. That's why the Guys will never change even if they change their counterparts. (True we don't
like it. But that is yet another confirmation that the male leads are the main leads of the stories). Frankly, THAT is the only reason I signed up to watch another Gul show. I loved the Boys and still do.
One word of warning to all. Everyone can see what happened on IB after the other two brothers got sidelined. Now they have DBO and IB only has 2 main leads and the rest are all villains most of the time. The show is about evil Saas, Dad's Rakhel and now some new people are coming coz the show is running out of a story because there's only one couple there and nothing else to focus on. Lets be thankful Rudra is getting the other half of the SS, or else we will get more freaks coming to this show. Wasn't Svetlana enough for everyone? If they had focused on Rudra and Saumya instead of Svetlana, this show would have maintained it's TRP throughout. Fact is the Oberoi Special got such good TRP coz all the characters were shown. So for all who thought parent show is all about one couple, or now DBO is only for RiKara should wake up. The shows run on the ensemble cast and also the family drama as well as romance. That's a fact. One of the BEST assets both shows have are the supremely "Likable" and "Loveable" characters of the show. People are mad about the whole cast. Very few shows have that advantage. When we have it, let's not take it for granted. My two cents on the subject.
Personally, I am not a fan of Bhavya or of the RuVya story as yet. I loved RumYa. But I am not going to bash the actors or mock them for that reason. I know Lee's potential from the past 12 months of watching him. No matter who says what, he deserves to be shown. I just want to see OmRu scenes!
