The family looked loveable and Mr. Mishra appeared to be a proud father. It was difficult for Omkaara to believe that he would marry of his younger daughter Gauri, for a deal, especially after seeing how the elder daughter, Ayesha and her husband, Kabir adored him. They had met the family formally and the family knew their might be an alliance between the two.
Omkaara had been really angry when Tej blackmailed him with giving Jhaanvi a divorce, however, he had decided to do whatever to save his mother's life and hence, agreed to give this a fair consideration. Shivaay- as always had come to ensure peace between them; convincing Tej that if Omkaara would refuse- it would be on some solid grounds and Omkaara that he would be free to choose.
She came like a whirlwind in his life with a typical SRK entry. For a moment, even he got confused if he saw what he saw or his mind had been Rudra-fied. Perhaps, they should have taken it seriously when Ayesha had been teasing Mr. Mishra for being obsessed with his younger daughter. The only thing: she didn't repeat SRK's dialogues (he remembered how he was forced to watch that movie by dadi as Shivaay and Rudra had run away)
The Mishras had requested to keep a puja as they had come to India after a long while. And when, Mrs. Mishra proceeded to put the tika on everyone's foreheads, Mr. Mishra stopped her (it was the mother in that movie) and moved smiling towards the door. And as it's bound to happen no one came. He smiled and turned back. And then...
"SURPRISE!!!!!!!!!!!!"
She entered shouting at her topmost shrill voice. Mr. Mishra turned around, gave the biggest smile ever possible (minus the tears the mother had in SRK movie) and put the tika on her forehead.
He just waited for the typical dialogue to have come when something else happened and for a moment, he felt how perfect she would be for every single Oberoi.
She looked at her mother and sister and started off:
"Meet Mr. father India direct from 1960s!!!"
And the sisters looked each other and laughed. However, befre she could talk much, a lady in her late 50s came upto her.
"Really, baap-beti ka pyaar hot oh aisa ho!"
"Maaf kijiye gam agar humne apko pehchana nahi"
"Isme apki galti nahi hai, Mr. Mishra, wo hum kabhi mile nahi hai. Bas suna ki aap apni choti beti, Gauri ki shadi krana chahte hai toh socha ki milne chali aau. Abhi tak bas mauka nahi mila tha baat krne ka. I am sorry agar maine disturb kar diya toh"
This left Tej Singh Oberoi worried and puzzled the brothers. Hadn't they come for his daughter's marriage? Tej remembered what Svetlana had said: Mr. Mishra was in no hurry to marry his younger daughter and that he loved her deeply; if they liked the family and Omkaara, the alliance would push his shares much higher than that of Shivaay's.
Her doe-shaped eyes became wide with a pursed smile.
"Shaaadi!"
The surprise was very subtle. But he sensed something when her sister and brother-in-law suppressed their smiles and winked at each other.
"Beta.. wo.. hum..."
But she cut Mr. Mishra at once and looked towards the soon to be sympathised with' lady.
"Arre, nahi aunty. Mai toh kbse soch rahi thi- dudho nahao putho phalo. So, tell me."
"ye hui na baat. Samajhdar ho. Wo mera beta Sinha industries sambhalta hai"
She pursed her lips further and looked at her sister who read naughtiness in her eyes. Her mother wanted to move forward to stop her but Ayesha didn't let her do that.
"Pakka aunty, Cambridge ya Harvard se pada hoga?"
"London School of Economics"
Poor lady, didn't even realise when the could-have been-daughter-in-law' and could-have been-mother-in-law' changed roles.
"Definitely, dancing ya singing jaise ek-do talent toh honge hi!"
"Arre beta! Cultural secreatery tha school aur college mei. Apna band bhi hai college ka."
"Wife ko bahar kaam krna bhi ALLOWED hoga"
"Aur kya beta, ab jab tak bachhe nahi ho jate, ladkiyan ghar mein bore hi hongi na"
"par phir bhi har decision mein sirf ap hi ko manta hoga?"
The brothers looked at each other-understanding Gauri's sarcasm and wondering how dumb the lady was. However, Shivaay frowned a bit thinking his mother was a subtle version of the lady. Thankfully she wouldn't go to this extent.
"Bilkul maa toh maa hi hoti hai. Toh beta,ab mai apke pitaji se bat kar leti hun. Aakhir mera toh croro mei ek hai"
Mr. Mishra signalled his wife that it'll be okay. Perhaps, everyone in the room understood her sarcasm, except for the lady- she looked wide-eyed at her dumbness and then something crooked came into her brain.
"Aunty; Yeh saari galti ajkal ke maa-baap ki hai. Bachon par dhyan hi nahi. Apka beta itna guni-sanskaari hai (she moved hands into air to show how guni-sanskaari she meant.lol.) aur yahan dekhiye na cooking tai hai na management. Apke bte ke baare mein sunke toh meri aankh mei aansoo aa gye. India ko aise hi bete toh chahiye, u know croron mei ek types. Mai apni khud ki beto hoti toh pakka apke bte ke layak bna leti. But. But.."
Seeing the lady genuinely believing what she said, she planned to play a little more to finally make her understand what she meant.
"Aunty, I genuinely think, aise ladke ke liye toh ek temple hona hi chahiye. Ladko ko definetly usse seekh leni chahiye."
The face of O Bros fell. What the hell was this girl? Trolling is nice but upto this extent. And Pinky's face- Oh my maata! Definetly jis bhi ghar mein jaegi, sabko apni ungaliyon pe nachaayegi. Mere Shivaay ke liye Anika hi thik.
The female looked confused; however, she hadn't still got Gauri. And seeing how dumb she was, Gauri took the chance to send her off.
"Vermaji, inhe humari juhu wali property e papers de dijiye. Aunty hum apko pure 30% discount ffer karenge. After all its social service."
This wasn't new to the Mishras. They were trying to control their laughter except Mrs. Mishra who wanted to scold her daughter a little- on trolling someone like that. Tej looked shocked wondering why was Mr. Mishra not even trying to control his daughter but kept mum as all he was concerned with was the deal. Verma pulled the lady to corner as she looked confused.
"Mr Mishra (kept her hand on dad's shoulder), 50% of the profit goes to me" She said winking her eyes.
"Sirf 50%. Hmmm" He said smiling at his daughter and her naughty antics for which ofcourse, he'll have to bear the brunt of his wife who already looked a little worried.
"After all I am your daughter"
And with this, Ayesha came forward and high-fived with her. Kabir pulled her into side hug, wiping off fake tears.
"omg! How much I missed my little brat!"
Rudra and Shivaay smirked at Omkaara thinkingn if this was to be his girl- how much fun it would be.
Cheers,
Appy
