Heyy!! Long time. Not sure if you'll remember me very well...but I remember you and your posts from the early days of the TL forums...glad to see you here! Well as of now...the pace was a little slow in the beginning...sometime after HC's entry because they did some heavy-duty focus on the families, but as of last week the pace was pretty swift! HC looks and acts wonderfully in this...it's like practically everyday he has some smart sarcastic one-liner per episode 😆
Okay it's something like this...Mohan's dad and Kastur's dad are best friends, Kastur's dad finances Mohan's education in the UK because his mom, Saroj, wants him to have a better life than the one he'll be living under the thumb of their Hitler-like grandpa, and since grandpa has a tight rein on the finances they can't really do anything without his permission. The grandpa hears this and gets furious, and because he can't pay back the money spent on Mohan's education, he offers Mohan for Kastur in marriage and promises to initiate their match once Mohan returns. Kastur's dad and Mohan's dad are uncomfortable with the idea but reluctantly agree. This results somehow in Kastur knowing about the match (AND in the present day she's crazy about him), and Mohan and Saroj being kept in the dark. 4 years later Mohan returns, apparantly having completed his degree. For a few days he has to stay at a relative's place because the grandpa is still pissed off with him, and he's recently returned to the house...which was allowed only because the grandpa was reminded of the promise he'd made to Kastur's father so long ago. #
Aasiya's good too, except that they make her run in so many scenes, AND they make her breathe hard half the time. But she looks terrific - the churidhar look is amazing on her - and she hasn't had many actual scenes with HC yet but they look lovely in the few scenes they have together.
Watch out for some of that heavy duty drama though 😕 Some of it can really really get on your nerves, esp the grandpa sometimes, and there are still a lot of things about Mohan's stay in UK and about Mohan and Kastur before he leaves and the entire history of the family friendship that is still leaving everyone scratching their heads.
Edited to Add: HC has two looks in the show! One's as this seedha-saadha Champu type...complete with oiled hair and checked shirt...and the seconds the cool-dude look he has now 😆 Oh...and Supriya, who played Laboni in TL, plays his mother in this one!
