Early life
Tokas was born in Munirka, South Delhi to Ranveer and Pramila Tokas. He studied in the D.A. Higher Secondary School, R.K. Puram, Delhi. Due to his hectic schedule as an actor, he began studying through correspondence. His father encouraged him to pursue acting as his career, when he started showing some interest in the field. Apart from being an actor, Tokas is also a national level swimmer.

Career
Tokas has other works apart from Prithviraj Chauhan. His main works are Jadui Chiraag, Light House For Children, Bango, Mera Dost, Rahul, Ek Nazar Ki Tamanna, Hey Hawain, Khoj Khajane Ki, Abhivyakti and Saibaba. He and his co-star, Mugdha Chapekar, got a breakthrough when they both appeared in Dharti Ka Veer Yodha Prithviraj Chauhan on Star Plus. In the beginning, Tokas was meant to appear for limited time of 5-6 episodes. When the show's popularity increased, so did their roles. They appeared in over 150 episodes in more than a year.

Currently, Tokas is working in new NDTV serial called Dharam Veer, with Mugdha chapekar as a co-star. He plays the role of Veer, a cousin brother and best friend of the King's son, Dharam.

1.Rajat, tell us your favourite color ??

Rajat's answer: Initially I used to like Red, but now my faourite is black.

2.Rajat tell us your hobies ??

Rajat's answer: Well no specific thing. I like horse riding, swimming. But the most favourite is ofcourse shooting. He laughs...

3. Rajat what do you do when you are free ??

Rajat's answer: Well I hardly have some free time. But still when I am free, I play games, i play cricket, I watch cartoons at times (Tom & Jerry) or i read messages of my fans.

4. Rajat, which is your favourite song ???

Rajat's answer:No particular song. I have more than 500 songs in my ipod so i hear them. I have many new and old songs, so I just hear them.

5. Rajat, you get injuries, your fans are worried about you. Aren't you worried about injuries ??

Rajat's answer: No, I am not afriad or worried about injuries. I know my fans are worried about me. Thats so nice of them of them. I get well from many injuries, thats just becuase of prayers and wishes of my fans. And I am your Sher, so I will keep working hard and perform more stunts to entertain you to the fullest. I just keep going, I love my work.

6. Rajat, people love your action scenes. So what you would like to say regarding that ??

Rajat's answer: Action is a part of my work and I like doing action sequences. And my fans like it, and its nice of them. I keep trying new action scenes to continue giving something new to the audience. And I keep trying new action scenes day by day.

7. Rajat, do you like any particular scene or dialogue from the serial ??

Rajat's answer: No particular scene or dialogue

Rajat's favourite actors are Hrithik Roshan and Amitabh Bachchan. His favourite actresses are Rani Mukherji and Preity Zinta.

He has actually grown his hair for his role of Prithviraj Chauhan.

Rajat knows horse-riding. He has also learnt Sword Fighting and Karate especially for his role as Prithviraj Chauhan.

Rajat Tokas as young Prithviraj

Teenager Rajat Tokas, who plays the title role in Star Plus' Prithviraj Chauhan has taken the television industry by storm and has earned a huge fan following. Owing to his popularity, his track in the weekend show has been extended indefinitely, leading to the grown up Prithviraj Chauhan not making an appearance as yet. Rajat admits that he is overwhelmed by the kind of response that he is getting. "I feel nice that people like me. I am just 16 years old and I am happy that they like my acting. It's an honour that all over the world people are watching the show. I hope that I will continue with the good work," he beams.

This is not his first brush with acting though. Rajat always had plans of doing well as an actor. "Before this, I had played the role of Sai Baba's brother's character in Sai Baba. They liked my acting and I was offered the role of Prithviraj Chauhan. I enjoy acting, wanted to pursue it seriously and I am happy everything shaped up well," he informs. But did he expect the character's popularity to soar so? "No, it has come as a pleasant surprise. I only gave my best shot," he quips.

Rajat also maintains that he is having the time of his life because of the show. "Playing the character has been like the experience of a lifetime. I have learnt and absorbed a lot. But what I love most are the action sequences. Once I jumped from over 20 feet without any harness," he says excitedly.

Rajat says he has bonded greatly with all the young actors on the sets. "The boys who play Arjun, Chander and Sanjam are my good friends. Harsh who plays Pundir belongs to the original Chauhan family. Interestingly, my first crush was Mohini - one of the characters in the show. The girls who play Jwala and Sayongita have lots of fun fights with me off screen," he reveals.

Boys his age are still in school, so how does Rajat manage his studies, considering he is busy shooting most of the time? "I am studying through correspondence. I have not been to school since the last six months. I make sure I study during the shots," he retorts. Rajat who has actually grown long hair to befit the role of the young royal, otherwise has interests most normal teenagers have. "I love football, swimming and horse riding. I am happy I have a lot of horse riding to do in the show," he says.

Rajat might be still very young but he already has his goals set. "I would like to continue studies. I would go for the performing arts, as I would want to be an actor when I grow up. I don't mind doing films or serials, the role has to be as good as Prithiviraj Chauhan. Hrithik Roshan is my role model as he is very good in action, dance and everything that a hero needs to have. I would one day like to become like him," he gushes.

Rajat of course doesn't have the answer to the million dollar question (how long his track will be continued in the show)! "I really don't know! All I can say is that please watch me as long as I am there and keep on giving me the love and the support that you have always been giving me," he says with a glint in his eye.We are sure he definitely doesn't mind. Neither do we.
