Today's episode was really informative and enlightening. Whatever Mahadev said about cows was absolutely true and I completely agree with each and every word 👍🏼, what Mahadev said. Truly we get everything from cows and we do not respect her.

Today's episode reminded me off the incident that happened 2 years ago, the road which I took to go to college. My college is far away and is situated on highway. The road is always bustling with traffic and accidents are a common thing and to make the matters worse we always used to see cows standing and sitting in the middle of the road.

We always used to wonder why cows are standing in the middle of the road and the traffic always came to a standstill. Later we came to know that it was the houses that abandoned their cows as they had ran out of giving milk. So mean people 😡.

And one day, finally the issue was resolved and the cows were finally given a shelter. All this was possible because of a person who wrote about this in the newspaper and municipality took all the measures.

From what I've heard & read, cow slaughter in India is frowned upon because cows,or rather, cattle have always been integral to the main occupation of India, which is agriculture. Cattle farming is another important occupation followed in the good old days in India.
Now I don't know, what prompted people to start eating cattle in the first place , or who came up with the idea of banning cattle slaughter. I have no idea what led to the ban.
Religious significance was attached to it just so that people would refrain from slaughtering and eating cattle thereby leading to their depletion ; as Indian agriculture has always been largely dependent on cattle.
It amazes people in the West to see Indians worshiping cattle & treating them with reverence.
In fact, beef almost forms the staple diet of people there & i don't think it would be fair to say that they are any less religious or spiritual than those who revere cows.
I'd really appreciate if someone sheds more light on this topic.

Cow - as a symbol- occurs again and again in our scriptures.
When the Earth, burdened with the wicked deeds of arrogant kings goes to Narayana with her tale of woe, she takes the form of a cow.
Dharma is represented as a Bull and the bull's four legs represent four virtues on which Dharma stands.

When King Prithu wanted the Earth to yield all the life giving substances, the Earth took the form of a milch cow.

The Sanskrit word "Go" means a cow, but it also means the Vedas. Hence cow has always been equated with the Vedas.
