I am sure public appearances do not have to be related to political parties only.

Celebs have wide variety of events to choose from.

i hope you are aware of the restrictions tht the PH have put over MR's public appearesnces..!!

regarding celebs having a right.. let me tell you.. they are contractual workers with the PH thus they have to tow the line of the PH only.. wat if the PH had decided to allow MR nd Puja fr this appearence.. (this appears to be the case most probably)..!!

the point of ethics does not come into question at all.. (if we feel tht ppl get fooled bt such tricks frm both the sides..) the audience and the public has minds now a dys to decide what is happening..!!

secondly the point tht you are missing is tht MR and Puja only went in thre and just spoke.. watever way their visit is being used is another matter altogather..!!

the show and the actors get publicity.. and crowd gets entertained.. the party tries to cash on..!! all are in a win- win situation..!!

this is how the practical life functions.. and this is the only ethic tht all follow

Practical life?😲

Ultimately stars become butt of jokes for it. Like Amitabh who sometime did ads for UP, then started doing ads for Gujarat and is still laughed at.

If PH controls it and if this happened at behest of PH then it is equally bad that PH needs to do this or allow this.

Smriti Irani was insanely popular in Gujarat and got many invitations from everyone including businessmen, companies to politicians. But she never accepted it nor Ekta encouraged her to go into this. Smriti started doing such stuff only after she quit KSBKBT.

As far as "practical life" is concerned, lot of things happen which people do in "practical life" but never talk of.😆

I only know attending such events for parties more often than not, backfires or makes stars butt of jokes. I've seen it. Hence I say this.
And I do not want MR to go same way as a fan. Simple.

Rest I've given my stance clearly and do not wish to argue further.

Apolitical functions could also have been attended by stars no? Was political one the only best suited event which PH also allowed to attend?

Celebs have many options for events to be part of that can suit their image. I am sure there must be no dearth of invites and options.

It's good that Mohit got to give a public appearance for his fans, but I also agree with the people who think it was wrong of the political parties to use his popularity, and also wrong of Mohit to accept. I just don't like actors to associate themselves with political parties. They know people take their onscreen roles too seriously sometimes, and they vote for them just because of that.

In the South, NT Rama Rao won a political election because of his popularity.

Deepika Chikhalia joined BJP after the end of 1986 Ramayan and won an election dressed in her Sita Ma outfit. People went crazy and voted for her because of her divine image.

Same with Arun Govil, he also won an election in Congress party because of his image as Ram.

I'm not saying Mohit will be joining political parties now, but as someone who wishes well for him, I just want him to stay away from politics. He can do better than that. 😳

If you DON'T want to look it as Mohit promoting any one political party, then change the title of the topic. Why specifically mention "BJP" in the title?? If "BJP" is explicitly mentioned in the title of of the discussion topic, people will also think in a similar manner regarding the actor's political leanings.

Let's be honest here, if actors from any other popular TV show went to a Congress event, I'm pretty sure many of us would not like it. And we would openly express our displeasure about it. So, let's not say "nothing wrong" where clearly something is not right in this case.

You might look at it as a "win-win" situation but is it ethically right for a production house to use its actors for promoting an event conducted by any one political party, simply to bring in more publicity for that party? And this is not one of your soap operas we're talking about. It is a show about Mahadev, so public conduct of the actors is extremely important. PH needs to keep this fact in mind before asking the actors to attend any kind of event. Or is it that DKDM is so seriously falling short of TV ratings that the show feels the need to promote itself through this event (conducted by a political party)? If PH really wants to promote its show so much, and help a political party gain publicity, let them ask Mohit & Pooja to attend a Congress event as well. I'm sure most of us would LOVE that.

I am aware that it is not uncommon for highly popular actors to become members of political parties and win elections as well - Nitish Bharadwaj, Arun Govil, Smriti Irani, Raj Babbar, Hema Malini, etc. And, if I'm not mistaken, I had read newspaper reports a few months back about Mohit actually being approached by BJP to promote their party. He had refused to indulge in such activities. And many of his fans were like "Good thing he refused to be associated with a political party". I just hope it remains the same even now.

just tell me simple thing tht why is evry one understanding tht if MR has attended tht event.. then he has a political inclination.. or it was Mohit only who accepted the invitation to go and make a speech there..!!
in matters like these it is the PH tht has the control.. nt the actor

Agree with our words he only attended the event as he was invited I don't understand the big fuss. He only attended the function and I don't think he has any political inclinations towards joining any party the further he stays away the better.

@ bold... one thing I am definitely sure tht the PH did not send it's actors to promote the party in power..!!!

the PH has promotion of their show in mind.. and promotion is done nt only wen the show has less TVTs. it's also done to consolidate ur trp stronghold..!!

and Dussera functions are the most apt tyms to promote it..!!

now yesterday only MR was felicitated in Jammu by Dr. Karan Singh.. and we all know who he is.. now tomorrow sumone out there shall say tht since Karan Singh has praised MR.. so he has inclinations towards Karan singh's party..or say since he is frm Jammu so by default he shall support the party tht felicitated him..!!

no doubt tht it may appear unethical to most of us... bt tell me can we do anything..??? as a fan wen u know ur celebrity's views.. so i don't think there is anything left to doubt tht upon..!! for MR has time and again reiterated tht acting is the only thing he is interested in..!!

I agree 100% with Shani88.

Matters because show is not just any other show. It is Mahadev. And we know there are parties who misuse names of gods for their agenda.

MR may not be political but it is evident to anyone why such opportunities are taken. For gain. Just as likes of Amitabh had dinners at Matoshree but also attended cricket matches with likes of Gandhi family.

He was at BJP event one day and receiving award from a Congress ally other day.

It's evident it's all part of forging connections.

Regarding the PH, it is questionable if they allowed their show to be part of political events. They could not find any other event to promote or "consolidate" their show's popularity?

Anyway, if an event is related to political parties around the time when country is gearing for next elections - then there's no way questions won't be raised at all.
