Disclaimer... watever written below is Just MY POV...tht i formed while watching the show and joining this forum...

a healthy discussion is welcome, but not at the cost of bashing anyone or me...!!😃😃😃

i wanted to write this since a long time...

since the moment I joined IF.. i have seen everyone lamenting about the "real" or the "correct" story... 😃

Jalandhar was the high point whr ppl became wary of the "real Jalandhar" not being shown and now Ramayan...!!

very recently many ppl wondered tht whether Mahadev visited Dashrath as a Kiraat..?? In which Puraan it is written..??? etc etc..

its true tht DKDM did twist stories beyond recognition... the "original stories"

I wonder tht the aim of those "original" stories have been to make people realise the values and the things tht are good and evil.. by way of "events" or allegorical stories..!!

those "real" stories also serve as a medium to make us understand certain subtle realities tht we all FEEL but neither understand nor realise...

and these subtle realities are beyond any correct story... they are the realisations of the human themselves..

say for example in the Kiraat epi... all were looking for the "source of the story".. but did anybody even listen wat Mahadev said b4...??
tht giving an alternative to Dashrath was His duty and accepting or not accepting is his right.

I wonder that everybody of us must have faced a predicament as "to be or not to be" or "to do or not to do"

in such situations we look for answers... we feel tht "somebody" from our conscience trying to help us to find the way... Is not the voice of the conscience the voice of God..??

Mahadev cuming as Kiraat was the very direct representation of this very voice tht we all hear...!!

Through our conscience, He gives us the alternative... what we choose is our Right..!!!

have we ever as audience tried to even understand this sublime fact wen the other mythos showed the "real" stories...???

For me... its a NO...!!!

for me... only wen DKDM came in... I tried to connect myself with the distorted stories... and believe me..., these distortions had a deep impact upon me, tht many "real" stories never ever had..

in a way I am glad... tht these distrotions open avenues to discover our own self... which is beyond any "correct story"...!!

👏👏👏.. nice pov...

well even i felt connected to DKDM for these short stories..

one good point.. with jalandhar track.. i found questions to my answer.. (if we tend to believe in DKDM story ) .. why did ram and sita being gods face troubles and why did vrinda become tulasi and how is she connected.. and all..

1 irritating story i felt was with mahishasur mardini track.. mad ppl.. they just screwed up tht story...

well like u.. even i felt connected to shiva.. through DKDM.. soo all the credits of my shiv-bakti.. goes to them..😊

Well I read your post u have a valid point about the connection you feel towards Gods and Mahadev especially which I did to thanks to this show..

But the thing is audiences who are aware of stories in mythology will relent because if u can distort stories to any extent than why call it mythology make it a fiction series say like Meluha.

Lots of emotions are attached to these Gods.
Why kill Sati why did Vishnu, Mahesh or Brahma not intervene and handle the situation. It could have had a happy ending.
The fact is Mahadev knew he did not do anything same is the case with Dashrat. The tridevs know the past, present, future but they do not intervene because every situation leads to something bigger.
That scene was unnecessary just to have Mahadev involved in each and every scene of Ramayan.
What was the lesson you got from the story of Jalandhar.
He was hailed a hero till the end.
People have threads dedicated to him.
But was a hero nahh never. That was precisely our problem.
He was given blue lenses and a tattooed chest and Mohit Raina in the role to attract the female audience which it did.
Girls cannot get over Jalandhar he is the wronged hero did Mahadev's theory of killing Jalandhar justify NO.
Even I was asking the question Mahadev why did u not help him and guide him and let him lead a peaceful beautiful life with his wife Vrinda whom he loved to death after his mother.
Vrinda's chastity had to be killed because from mortal she becomes divine and from her ashes the Tulsi plant is born she acquires divinity.
Mohit though has done a brilliant job the point is as viewers we feel and question what are these people up to because people who look beyond faces and actors will be horrified to see the stories.

Every event has a reason behind it which is for a greater purpose.
If something is not right it should be questioned it is not to ridicule but criticize in a constructive way to the makers and the team of the show.

Every Story related to Parvati, Karthikeya, and every other God was very bad in the show.
Why we can just carry on with this charade till the end of DKDM and hail it as the best.

Debates and discussions are done for the betterment and not to pull down.

I like the lessons imparted by Mahadev and those are things that kept me glued to the show and certain events which are presented well connected me to Mahadev more.

Suchi love your post. You have captured all our thoughts. 👏 👏

We all can relate to the stories shown in dkdm and i know it has showed me how to see life differently in terms of being strong and never to give up in life.

Dkdm is the only show that i know has raised issues about protecting our rivers, respecting women and how to live in peace.

Will comment more tonight

@ sindhu the question is not tht whether Mohit did a gud job or not..!!

I see ur point tht the story of Jalandhar was distorted..

Now if you ask me tht What I learnt from Jalandhar...?? the fact is that I did learn quite a lot from the DKDM version...

this Jalandhar had anomalies that we humans have too... its just that I pondered over the "character" and not the actor...

and when I pondered over him.. he was never a hero if you actually tried to dissect the character..

the only difference is the perception to watch this show...

For myself I would only say tht when I watch DKDM... i do not bind my mind with the story that I know... as such boundations will only create a disdain for the story that is being shown...

You felt Kartik was shown in Bad light... my view is just the contrary... I felt wat I saw was Kartikeya evolving into what we know him to be today...!!

and BTW Mythology itself means... A set of stories or beliefs about a particular person, institution, or situation, esp. when exaggerated or fictitious..

so who knows tht what is written in those "real" stories is actually true or not..???

I believe that more than the story... it is the essence that matters the most... afterall, all that these stories do is to impart values...

@ bold 🤣

@ red... perceptions dear... I have already stated in the disclaimer that what I wrote is wat I PERCEIVED... and my perception is beyond any story...

you felt Jalandhar had nothing to teach us... I feel just the opposite.. he had much to offer... which was definitely beyond a tattooed chest and blue lenses...

all u can say that My problem is I can't restrict my mind just to the KNOWN stories... 😃😳

at the end of the day it's all about the conection with the almighty, the stories or the messeges are just the mediums of it. just like every other mediums of conection it also has difficulties. for me, its difficult to connect with the story because it's different from what've read or heard. and the messege from last episode about the nishkaam karma, i liked it even though krishna said something very similer to arjun in gita.

Agree with you completely, Sucheta 😊.
Everyone has different point of view.
Good post 👍🏼
We cannot completely blame CV's when they show something different which we have not heard of. For eg:- Mahadev coming as Kiraat in front of Dashrath. I have never heard of this story in any of Ramayana's I have read, but my point is that research team might have done some research that is why they are showing.
It is good to learn new stories that have never heard of.
Sometimes there are true and sometimes not.
It is upto us whether we like it or not.
