and I also believe that there are certain things or events that cannot be explained just within the parameters of a vague term called "Leela"

I thought that the answer to this question is yes. As far as a year back, when there was an article about a Mohit interview, where he mentioned how all his wedding proposals from fans had dried up since noone wants to marry a God 😆, Mohit also mentioned how some fans - particularly elderly fans - wanted him to visit their homes in his Mahadev garb so that they could worship him. Also, a temple in Varanasi had his picture as its representation of Shiva. Mohit has also complained about how embarrassed he feels when elderly people want to do his charan-sparsh

So Mohit may not be Mahadev, but there are enough people who think that he is 😆

I remember reading, he gets uncomfertable when elderly people want to touch his feet. regarding him getting married, he'll surely one day. These temple people should be more careful. Once I visited a temple, where The Shiv manas pujan stotra was put up. It was written under that, those who'll do this stotra's path 11 times will get benifit of doing 1 Rudri. I asked the pujari, is it true? He answered this is just put up for less educated people. Doing the Shiv mahimna stotra's path 11 times is eqivalent to 1 Rudri.

I don't post often, but more than watching the serial I like to read the different pov's about the way the stories are being shown. I liked the serial version of showing vinayak's birth, because it felt more logical and acceptable to my mind set. Right from when i heard the story as a child, i could never accept that trikaldarshi god did not know that the boy was hisnown son and would behead him in a fit of anger just for guarding his mom's entrance..i always used to think if a god can do it, what does it say about us humans who do not have mastery over our senses...

Anyway, coming to ramayan track, it is a bit annoying to see Mahadev trying do warn so many and bee there in every scene. In one episode mahadev mentioned that his relation with narayan is more deeper than a guru shishya and that when ram is restricted by his human avatar he will find me near him always...but ram does not understand this right now and it will take him some time etc. From this what i thought he was trying to convey is they are basically one and the same..so sri ram can call upon mahadev when he is restricted by his human avatar..so kind of alter ego etc...so when his arrows did not find the target, i think ram himself conjurednup mahadev ( i don't know whther i am saying this right) so that he can aim at the target...that is why mahadev says kya main hoon? Kind of saying it is your doing...they are one and the same...

Maybe this is all too far fetched..probably did not put across my thoguhts properly...think all this is only till sri ram goes with vishwamitra to complete his training. He grows up to become piyush within a week ..training complete etc...fast track...

@Suchi

I understand your "contract" theory and that is a nice way of looking at the way DKDM is treating the story. But as I said, they should stop masquerading as a mytho if they have to do all this. We don't see Narayan appearing in different avatars in stories related to Mahadev. So why have Mahadev appear everywhere here? And seriously I never felt it earlier but now in Ramayan I am feeling more than ever that Mahadev is being "zabardasti" put in every frame! It's as if HE caused Ramayan and was a catalyst for various incidents that happened! This is very hard to digest or like because Ramayan is like what we call "bachcha bachcha jaanta hai"!

I can appreciate Mahadev being a narrator and spectator, or coming forth when devotees actually call upon him. But this stuff that DKDM is doing - Mahadev at Lanka, Mahadev at Dashrath's yajna, Mahadev instructing Ganesha to save Kaushalya, Mahadev talking to rishis to enlist them to guide Ram, Mahadev teaching archery to Ram...blah blah...this is way TOO much!

I believe DKDM makers should have modeled the show like Savitri on same channel. And then taken as many liberties as they wanted. Then no one would have discussed, debated or expected much from it. They'd have accepted whatever that was shown.

As of now, I have seen even occasional viewers and people from other religions express curiosity about Mahadev indeed doing so much in Ramayan and wondering why he himself didn't finish off Raavan or intervene directly instead of appearing here and there in different avatars!

There are "constructs" and archetypes in people's minds about stories. It is hard for them to accept anything else. This is still Ramayan. People won't even easily accept "Thirsty Pigeon" in place of story of "Thirsty Crow" though this story is merely an example and has no religious, cultural importance attached to it!
That's plain human psyche!

Anyway, I watch DKDM because it's relatively clean, sane, family-friendly show to watch, there's curiosity about Lord Shiva and other devtas, I've been a fan of mytho shows since DD days, the philosophical messages in the show are great, visuals are glossy and cast is fine (especially and obviously Mohit Raina).

So I keep watching it no matter what.

That said, IMO, the best show on Lord Shiva on TV was Om Namah Shivay on DD in late 90s, despite its lack of gloss and special effects.

I know shows take creative liberties. My most favorite BRC's Mahabharat also did it. But DKDM I have to admit, takes creative liberty way too far! Ramayan track is surely hard for me to watch without wondering what's this going on! MY POV.

I got to thinking - in what other way could they have brought in the Ramayan while still making Mahadev its central figure? The one that strikes me as obvious - they could have had Mahadev grant Kesari/Anjana their boon about his ansh being born to her, via Vayu. Then they could have shown some brief stories of Hanuman growing up (like they did in Imagine's Ramayan) and then shown him going to the sky to eat Surya-dev. Okay, problem - Indra would have to be there to hit Hanuman on his jaw w/ the Vajra - Nahusha can't be doing it 😆 But aside from that, they could have shown that. They could have followed it up w/ the curse on Hanuman that caused his memory loss about his capabilities

Then they could have shown Hanuman becoming a part of Vali's & Sugreev's following, shown Vali's encounters w/ Ravan, Dundoobi, Mayavi and the expulsion of Sugreev. In the meantime, they could have shown other stories of Mahadev - maybe less of Parvati, if they were getting rid of Sona 😡 At that point, they could have introduced Rama & Lakshman, and had them narrate their story to Sugreev in flashback, where they could have shown a fleeting account of events in Ayodhya and the last 14 years. Piyush would have surfaced here, and Sita would have been first shown when Hanuman discovered her. That way, this whole track would have been more brief. The way they are bringing in a new cast for everybody - Dasharath, Janak, Kaushalya, Sunaina, Taraka, Manthara, Vishwamitra, Vashistha, et al, this serial hardly has the scope to cover authentic Mahadev stories any more.

Here, Hanuman could have been used as an actor different from Mohit, and Mohit could have been shown telepathically guiding him all along - at least, that wouldn't be anywhere near as controversial as showing him as remote controlling Rama. So had they shown it from a bit of a Hanuman centric POV - w/o importing all those silly JJBB and Mahavir Hanuman stories, they'd have had some more cred. The show would still have been true to its Mahadev centric theme, but not played fast & loose w/ a well known story, the way it did Daksha.
