None of us will ever know what happened. but yes YOU CANT CLAP WITH ONE HAND. so there would be something wrong from both sides. I dont think sona is dumb to just throw tantrums like this she knows it will ruin her image. moreover the PH is not stupid enoughto let go of a popular character. so things might have gone wrong from both sides. whoever is at fault will learn be it PH or sona.
However please stop deteriorating her image its bad for her she is young and even if she is at fault she will learn. but honestly people are now having a really bad impression regarding her and i dont mean we at the forum i mean the general public. and this is sad and bad she is an awesome actress. she will do well and let both parties breath. stop the blame game please. lets move on and hope best for both Sonarika and Pooja.

Why does this not happen in western shows? I don't understand. All the American shows I have watched, British, Canadian shows...I have never seen a replacement. I have only seen replacements on soaps...yes...but never on prime time. If an actor really wants to leave and nothing can persuade them otherwise then usually the character is killed off or send away. Can you imagine in Game of Thrones Tyrion being replaced suddenly or pick your favorite character from any show...No it wouldn't happen. They would renegotiate the contract, raise the salary if needed to get the actor back (if nothing works, then they would kill the actor but not replace) because otherwise the show would suffer especially if the actor is a main actor and not side actors. It makes sense though because the audience gets attached to not just the character, but the face associated with the character and the acting of that actor thus you cannot just replace them midway. I will never understand why there are so many replacements in Indian tv shows...and then they just expect the viewers to be okay with it and continue watching as if nothing ever happened.

Because this is India and the management of it is all crap. Management and production houses are so poorly managed that this is what happens. Western shows are better, acting wise, story wise and shooting hours wise. 😆 In the West at least you get equally paid actors, women and men. India, still an up and coming economy has inequalities. What can you do. 😆 All of this is made worse by fans. Fans go hoo haa so much that it makes the whole situation worse then it is. 😆

@ Proud India : that video doesn't say anything. Its rubbish made up by SBB. It only says they've 'heard'. Anyone can say they've 'heard'. Even I can say that I've heard stuff. Simple, so easy. SBB, SBS and these other websites are a pile of shit. Indian media is terrible. Utter garbage. Can't believe people think SBS, SBB and websites are reliable sources. 🥱

TV in India is in doldrums. TV channels shut down abruptly here, shows are taken off air abruptly leaving the entire team in lurch, TV actors are replaced, shows keep running mindlessly for years or deviate from original concept, there is less variety and more of a herd mentality - if saas bahu shows are successful then all start making those types of shows, if historicals and mythos are famous then all start making those! Earlier we had shows for kids, elderly people, specifically women/men and even solid non-fiction shows like game shows, quizzes and career related shows. Now we have only soaps! No special content or variety.

HT reported that TV actors work in pathetic conditions, extreme pressure and their sets are dingy, unclean, sometimes rat-infested, constructed around even garbage dumps! Hina Khan of YRKKH had openly said they don't even get clean drinking water and that she doesn't even trust the hygiene of food provided there so she brings her own food and water from home. Worst is that these days channels restrict actors a lot and either don't allow them to get out or order them to behave and dress in a certain way so to keep up their onscreen image! Ekta Kapoor made Smriti Irani shoot for Kyunki even till her ninth month of pregnancy. Once Smriti had a miscarriage on the sets. Nobody took her to hospital. She recalled she had to take a cycle rickshaw to reach hospital!

TV actors work in pathetic conditions and there is no organisation, management or care for labour laws in case of TV channels in India.

Controversies happen, actors die or suffer but situation never improves. Instead newer shows are made and newer actors are taken and workload is further increased by making episodes air on weekends also.

I do not watch DKDM, know what is going in it only from written updates, so cannot comment on Mohit's or Sonarika's acting. However, let me comment on the man-woman issue you have pointed out. Can we say that Sonarika was paid less than Mohit simply because of being a woman? Or could there be some other reason? There could be different reasons:-
1. Sonarika is a woman - this is the reason you are saying and I accept this is a possibility.
2. Although Parvati is a Goddess in her own right, the show is primarily focused on Lord Shiv, who is being played by Mohit in the show.
3. Mohit has more experience and/or has better acting skills than Sonarika - I am not claiming it. I am just asking if this could be a possibility. I really do not know how Mohit or Sonarika act.

Suppose there is a show which is primarily based on a woman. Then could it not be possible that in that show the female lead will be paid more than the male lead?

I guess that this is a tad off-topic, but honestly, I don't believe that glass ceilings exist - at least not on the gender front. While in India, discrimination is more blatant than in the West, the chances are that they'd fix the compensations based on market rates. I think that your third reason - Mohit being much more experienced as an actor than Sona - has more to do w/ it. Both of them act really well - often, the performances of both were mind-blowing.

I guess looking at the roles played by both the leading actors - Mohit & Sona, it would seem to one that they deserve equal pay. But the people being compensated here are not Mahadev & Parvati - they are Mohit and Sona, and in such a case, their individual experiences become relevant, and not just the role they were playing. Or else, both would deserve an infinite salary, which is outside anyone's budget.

I don't agree w/ point 2 above - that the show is about Shiva and therefore Parvati is irrelevant. Sure, the CVs have made it that in the shoddy way they covered the Ma Durga stories, as well as requiring Parvati to cry for a lot of the earlier episodes, which was insufferable to watch, but that fault lies w/ the CVs, not w/ Sona. I have a theory that there are a lot of people who hate the way Parvati has been depicted and are blaming Sona for it. I too hate a lot of the episodes where Parvati has been depicted as constantly crying, as well as the Durga & Kali episodes, but I put all the blame on one place - the PH (sorry, Proud Indian). Had the CVs dedicated themselves to showing all of Shiva's family - not just Mahadev & Ganesh, but Parvati & Kartikeya as well, in good light and appropriately, there would have been a lot less criticism of Sona in the show.

Again, getting back to Sona, as her experience increased, she should have pressed for getting incremental raises instead of trying to be at par w/ Mohit straight away. That would have worked. At any rate, envy of a colleagues pay, if true, is not befitting her, regardless of who she plays. She did badly in her previous serial TDSM, but was sublime in DkDM. She should have worked on a linear ramp of her salary that would have brought her to where she wanted to be. (All of this assumes that the reason for her differences w/ the PH being her salary was true)
