In the war, Yamaraj calls Mrityu ki Devi to fight with Kartikeya. She aims to kill him. But Kartieya challanges her, saying let's see how Mrityu ki Devi's Mrityu can happen. She attacks him from back, saying there are no rules for her, death can come from any direction. He bravely fights with her. She trys to scares him but he manages to overcome her threat of his mother's death & kills the Mrityu ki Devi herself.

Is it possible practically to chalange death? Shivji shows how it can be done. Rishi Markandeya fought death through Mahamrityunjaya mantra. Even Shukracharya uses Mritsanjeevani Vidya received from him, to make Asuras alive who died in war.

Yamaraj is fighting on J's side. By kidnapping Parvati, J is already on path of Adharma. Yamaraj being Dharmaraj too for fighting for Adharma looses his strength, so Mrityu ki Devi ends by Kartikeya fighting to save his Mother. Even in Bhagvad Geeta, Pandavas won because they were on Dharma's side. Lord Krishna helped them for the same reason.

Almost every Deva's Shakti is female, so Yamaraj's Shakti can be Mrityu ki Devi, a female presentation of his Shakti.

When a person's life span on Earth is over, Yamaraj sends his messengers to bring that person's soul to him.

But the actual death- the cessation of breath- is caused by Mrityu Devi.

The killing of Mrityu devi, as shown today,is purely metaphorical and deeply significant

The killing of Mrityu Devi by Kartikeya represents the victory of the positive forces against the dark negative forces. If the soul, mind and body are filled with positive energies, it is possible to delay / prevent death. There have been so many sages, even today, who have through their power of tapas conquered death. There have been so many great people who have chosen their own manner to leave their physical body.

J is doing everything possible to stop his death, whereas Kartikeya has got over that fear.
It's a war between fear & no-fear too.😊

Thanks for the post Minaxi and the comments are enlightening. I had no idea of Mrityu Devi. Thanks for clarifying all this. 👍🏼
