Devi was Nirakar- formless, before the creation. Once she decided to create, she took a form. Devi takes different forms to perform various tasks & those forms becomes popular for her speciality to accomplish that task, she is then prayed for that special quality.

i was not confused about her being faceless,i was confused why they showed her...cvs showed adi shakti with a face.that was bugging.

Most mythologicals tend to show Adi Shakti in physical form with an actress actually appearing on screen, often sitting on a lion and all. I think one show, but I don't remember which one (likely one of Dheeraj Kumar's productions) continued showing Adi Shakti separately from Parvati - different actresses - with them having conversations and everything. 😆

My opinion was, and still is, that they shouldn't have shown her in physical form but as energy. Use some CGI trickery to do it.

In any case they couldn't use Sona because Parvati hadn't been born yet (and Sona wasn't even cast at the time anyway). So a different actress was used.
