Mahadev is a team owner, not a player, so there will be no faceoff b/w them. Mahadev does have his various roops, such as Shilpi or Veerbhadra, in various teams, while Jalandhar is a member of the asura team.

Next, we have our roving reporterette, Sia221 go behind the scenes to see what's brewing in the Amazing, Awesome Asura camp. Sia just landed in Tripura and now joins the Asura captain Vidyunmali, as preparations are underway for them to live up to their image as one of the favorites going in. Sia, who do we have w/ us today?

Sia: Thank you, Vrish! I am here in the amazing Tripura stadium, constructed by Maya Danav w/ the planning of Shukracharya & Vidyunmali. We have both of them w/ us right now, as well as key members of the asura squad.

Sukhi (as in Shukracharya, not our reporter Sukhi), what do you think about the team you have, and its preparation so far?

Sukhi: We have done an amazing job retaining most of our local talent against some pretty high bids from rival franchises. We already had some good homegrown talent in Vritra, Chakri, Vidyunmali, but in the last few days, we have staged a real coup by winning over Bhashmasura & Jalandhar.

Bhashmasura, who is an excellent dancer thanks to Mohini, was someone we just got back from Yamalok, like a lot of our other asura talent, like Vidyunmali. He is about as aggressive as Chris Gayle and Kusal Perera. With him and Rishi Atri opening, we have just the opening batting w/ need, and Vidyunmali gives us a good stability in the middle order, allowing other batsmen like Vasuki and Chakri to play their shots. Sanatkumar and Maya Danav lend stability to the middle order so that we don't have collapses around over# 16.

We also have an amazing fast bowling lineup led by Jalandhar & Vritra, and great all-round talent of Vidyunmali and Bhashmasura. In spin bowling, we will have Maya Danav and Shatabhish.

Sia: This is a great stadium. How is this pitch expected to behave?

Maya Danav: Thank you. I, er we, made this a fortress where we should be invincible. As you can see, pace bowling is our biggest strength, and our pitch augments that - it's like the one in Kochi 2 years ago. Our pacement should really be able to rip off any opposition batting line-up here, while our batting could survive any attack. While my own strenths, and that of Shatabhish are spin bowling, I think our utility will mainly come in away matches.

Vidyunmali: That said, in all matches, we'll try for a balance, since you never know which day a batsman might take the attack apart, so our plan is to have 2 types of attacks at all times.

Sia: Jalandhar, my condolences on the death of your mother, that must have made it very tough for you. How are you handling this?

Jalandhar: Yeah, that has been really ugly, but it's strengthened me and my resolve. There is no way I can better honor my mom than by channeling all my anger against the ene... er opposition.

Bhashmasura: Yeah, there is nothing we're gonna love more than setting the LPL on fire.

Sia: I know you can turn things into ashes, but seeing you set the tournament on fire would be quite a sight

Bhashmasura: Yeah, I'm practicing on that. There is nothing I want more than to be the Shane Watson of this tournament.

Sia: Menavati, how has it been working w/ the asuras?

Menavati: Oh, I had my reservations at first, but especially after seeing Jalandhar, who reminds me so much of my damaat, I am reassured about our chances in this tournament.

Sia: Thank you, everyone

Sia next goes to the locker room, and finds someone fast asleep snoring.

Sia: This must be Kumbhakarna. Is it possible to get his thoughts on this?

Kumbhakarna: Zzz 🥱

Sia: I think I have my answer. Thank you, and back to you, Vrish!

News Room of Akash TV

News Reader Vrish: Hello viewers, it's time for our special edition on the LPL.

While the action has not even started on the pitch, things are hotting up on the WAG front. Yesterday, we brought to you exclusive interview with Urmilla and her kids. Now we hear that the gorgeous Tara- wife of the Devious Devas owner, Brihaspati - has joined the WAG crowd here.

However it was her presence in the Charming Chandravanshis camp that has caused a flutter. May we remind our viewers that a few months ago the CC owner - Mr.Chandra Dev and Tara were spotted together at all the hot' n' happening places leading to the speculation that they were more than just close friends and that Tara's son Budha was actually fathered by Chandra. Brihaspati was however quick to rubbish all such claims

Now, with Tara being publicly seen in the CC camp, speculations are sure to arise once again.

Our reporter Speedgal has more news

Speedgal : Oh yes Vrish. Tara's presence has certainly caused many heads to turn. Of course she is a star in her own right- so she must be used to being in the limelight. When we asked her why she was sporting the CC team's shirt rather than her husband's DD team this is what she had to say:

Tara: Well, Chandra has always been a good family friend...And it's fun to say "You see, I am a CC .."...(giggling)

Speedgal: What about the rumors linking you and Chandra

Tara (cutting off) :Absolutely a figment of media's imagination. I don't know where you get such stories from.

Speedgal: So if there's a match b/w CC and DD which one will we see you supporting?

Tara : The winning one!! (walking away, flashing a winning smile)

Speedgal: That's all I have from here. Back to you Vrish.

Vrish : That's something to look forward to in a a CC Vs DD match. Keep watching, viewers. We'll have all the news on what's hot and what's not in this edition of LPL - twenty thirteen.

Smiley visits the AA traiing going on at the nets in Tripura, and joins manager Menavati.

Vijaya is in the field having a fielding practice session w/ the team. Sukhi takes a ball and hits it high, and challenges Jalandhar to catch it w/o stepping outside the boundary. The ball is high above the boundary ropes. Jalandhar takes a flying leap to send the ball back within the field of play and lands just barely within the boundary rope. 👏 He manages to stop himself, run back in and take a diving catch just a split second b4 the ball touches the ground. 👏

Smiley notes that here is someone who's fielding is something to look forward to during the tournament. Menavati, Sukhi and Vijaya are all impressed, and so are teammates like Changu and Bhashmasura. 😆

Hello, and welcome to the next edition of our special feature. Today, we have our special correspondent Shruti.Nil reporting from the pristine beauty of Kailash, where she joins the Glorious Ganas in their preparations for the tournament. Shruti, take it away from here.

S.N: Thank you, Vrish, and I am here today w/ a new up & coming star - dear Bappa! Hi, Bappa, how've you been finding it so far?

Bappa: It's fantastic, Shruti. The atmosphere has been absolutely perfect for some intense practice we've been having, and I've been busy at work making sure that we do what it takes to win this trophy.

S.N: So what have your own preparations been like?

Bappa: Due to my long reach, thanks to my trunk, as well as the fact that I have to stoop generally to talk to my Mushaks, captain Nandi thought that I'd be the ideal wicket keeper for this squad. This is a new role for me, but one that I'm determined to excel at. My goal is to eliminate the need for us to have any slip fielders at all, and give Nandi all the leeway to put all the other 9 fielders everywhere else on the field - mid-on, mid-off, extra cover, wherever. That should give our bowlers like Tarakasksh and Vayu all the field placings they need to take wickets.

S.N: You are also the vice captain of the team - to what extent have you been involved in the strategizing?

Bappa: For me, it's been a learning experience, as I mostly listen to what veterans like Nandi, Markandeya and Nataraj have to say, as well as our manager Sati and coach Jaya. I do hope to be able to bring in new ideas to the team so as to give us an edge over the competition

Nandi: Ganesh has been fantastic so far in all the roles he's been practicing for, not just keeping the stumps. His batting has been fantastic, so we hope to use him as a late finisher. Markandeya lends stability at the top of the batting, and Nataraj is a swashbuckling late order batsman. Mahakal is the team's top all-rounder, and along w/ Tarakaksh, heads up the pace bowling. Shilad lends some stability in the middle, while Shani has an intimidating effect on the opposition.

S.N: This is a great new stadium - what is the pitch like?

Sati: It is a very good track to bat on, and there are plenty of runs. As you know, the team owner Mahadev is fond of the shanshan, and this ground is a shanshan for bowlers - Yamaraj would envy it. Indeed, he once tried to get Markandeya out while he was batting, but Mahadev stopped him. So yeah, it's really a case of who can make the most runs and then defend it.

S.N: Okay, now for the great one himself, who joins us - devo ka dev, Mahadev. Prabhu, what do you feel about the chances of your team?

Mahadev: I feel calm. I don't have any moh attached to the success or the failure of the team - what is important here is the flourishing of the LPL, being as it is Parvati's pet dream. In fact, I do need to leave now to help her regain her memory before today's opening ceremony. So I'll catch up w/ you later.

S.N: Thank you, Prabhu. And that's all we have here. Over to a break, w/ our new sponsors, Nanborghini

Hi, this is ToolConfuser. Today, I am your anchor, and today, our crew went to Mathura to catch up w/ the preparations there. So we go there now and are joined by Vrish, who is playing a different role there. Hi, Vrish!

V: Thank you, Tool, and yes, indeed, it's great to be here on a nice hot day, which is a major contrast from the last 3 venues. Today, I'm here w/ the Charming Chandravanshis, who've had a change in captains even b4 the season began. Yayati has been replaced, since he's not been born as yet, and his future dad, Nahush, has taken over the captaincy. Nahusha, welcome to Akash TV. How has it been so far?

Nahusha: Thank you, Vrish. We are off to a good start, but unfortunately, due to the tragic loss of Matsyakanya, we've been having the blues the last few days. However, we do start off w/ a tough battle - against the devas, and so we do need to be ready for that.

V: Yeah, that would be a very awaited battle. I hear that he's scared to face you

Nahusha: (laughs) Yeah, it's almost like if I caught hold of Sachi right in front of him, he'd be to scared to react. Anyway, we do have to take this seriously, since the devas are a formidable team. Not to mention the rest of the contestants. We don't have a star studded line-up, so our players do need to put in their 100% for us to do well.

V: Nishumbha, you are the vice captain of the side. As Nahusha said, you are not a star studded line up, so what are the extra preparations you have done?

Nishumbha: we've assigned dedicated roles to each player, and asked him to focus on just that. Unfortunately, there are no all-rounders in this side. Ashwin1 will keep wickets (unlike a certain Ashwin Ramachandran) and Vishwakarma, Sesha and Sukarna form the core of our batting line-up. I head up the pace bowling w/ Taare, but he is still very wayward, so I can't use him in the death overs. Bhrigni heads our spin bowling attack.

Bhrigni: We have all taken our roles very seriously, and have been practicing them tirelessly. It's been hot, so it's not been easy. But we are confident of getting there.

V: How about the pitch?

Asokasundari: This pitch is one of those dry pitches that develops cracks, so it's gonna be very good for spin and swing bowling. Since we don't have much in batting, our best chances at home are for opposition batsmen to find the going really to find it next to impossible to bat on.

V: Wouldn't the LPL have problems w/ that?

Revathy: Our groundsmen have been working w/ them to make sure that it's compliant w/ LPL regulations.

V: My condolences to yall on Matsyakanya. So what alternative plans have we made in her absence?

Revathy: Yeah, it's been tough, since Matsyakanya was supposed to help us all in the fielding department. So now, Asokasundari has been doing double-duty, and doing it very well, I might add. So we are still looking for someone who will either be the fielding coach, or if we can't find her, we'll get a batting coach and change Asokasundari to be the fielding coach of the side.

V: Thank you, Revathy, and wish you all the best for the season.

Now, Toolconfuser, I am in the stands to meet what I think are 2 fans, who seem to be here to watch them practice. Except that they seem to be arguing. Hi, ladies, how are you doing here?

Lady1: I don't wanna be here - I'm trying to get her home.

Lady2: I am here to watch some good practice. Leave me alone!

V: You are?

Lady1: Sachi

Lady2: Tara

V: That is interesting. Shouldn't both of you be w/ the DD squad, since both your hubbies are owning and leading that team? 😆

Sachi: That's what I've been trying to tell her

Tara: Shut-up! Listen, you whipper-snapper, I don't know who you are, but nobody, and NOBODY is gonna tell me what I should do, and where.

V: Not at all, not at all. No, I'm a reporter, and covering the team prep...

Tara: A reporter? You mean I'm on TV? Please clip my last part where I...

V: We're live, but what last part? 😆

Tara: Thank you. How do I look?

V: Like a star?

Tara: Precisely! Do you think I could...

Sachi: Tara, will you stop making a fool of yourself in front of the cameras, and come back to Amravati? There will be cameras and reporters there as well, and they won't be surprised to see us! 😡

V: Now, ladies! While you are here, I wanted to get your take on what you think of the practice, and who you are supporting.

Sachi: DD will lift the cup. I'm not here to watch CC's prep, I'm here to get this hussy out of here.

V: Which one - Dave or Mike? They're now in LPL?

Tara: Shut up, Sachi! You want to watch the devas, go ahead, but I want to see these charming cricketers at it. Your Indra doesn't hold a candle to CC.

Sachi: My Indra will just flatten that serpent Nahusha! 😡

V: Ah, I see Chandra & Nahusha on their way. Ladies, thank you for joining us

Tara: Ciao~!

As I leave, Chandra and Nahusha greet me and pass me by. By the time they get to where the ladies are, Sachi is gone, and Tara is just gleeful to see the back of her.

Well, Tool, that was quite a show that I didn't even plan to get you, but that's what happens when we're live. Now, CC vs DD tonight will certainly be a battle to watch 😆
