Okay, I am Vrish, and right now, let us have our behind the scenes look at one of our featured teams. Today, one of our first special features. Dr Varaali takes us behind the scenes and meets members of the Prized Prithvis. Over to Gangotri...
Dr V: Okay, here we are, in this newly built Dharamsala style Gangotri Colosseum, w/ the new team Prized Prithvis. With me now are some of the key members of the team.
Hello, Kartikeya, how does it feel to be a part of this new team?
Kartikeya: The experience is absolutely fantastic, I must tell you. We have had players from a wide range of backgrounds coming together here for the first time. Our coach Ganga has done a great job working w/ us and letting us discover each other.
Ganga: Yeah, it's really amazing how well these players have gelled together. We just had Tarakasura arrive here from Yamalok, and it's amazing how quickly he's returned to full fitness, despite being away for more than a year in Yamalok. Also, our players like Lakshman, Kamalashkh, Agastya and Shilpi lend us a great variety. So we've had Kama & Shilpi practicing their spin bowling.
Dr V: This is a fine new Colosseum...
Shilpi: Thank you
Dr V: ... what is this pitch like, and how confident are you that you will corner at least all your home matches?
Kamalashkh: Yeah, this is as inpenetrable as the fort that was built for me, and since Mahadev is not an actual participant who'd destroy this, I'd say that our prospects here are just as good.
Lakshman: However, we don't need the home advantage. We can cream them anywhere in the 3 loks.
Kartikeya: To answer your question, it has a lot of pace in it, and would be great for our 5 man pace attack Not too many runs to be made unless one applies oneself
Dr V: Tarakasura, the last time you played, you had a historical rivalry w/ Kartikeya. How does it feel to be a part of the same team?
Taki: It feels great. I have got a really good idea of what makes good teams successful. And they are all the things I will be bringing to the table in Gangotri. To think that I will be playing alongside Kartikeya and Kama, some of the guys I have had great battles over the years, and some of the young local Prithvi talent I have come across in the last couple of days is great.* (Actual Ponting quote about Sachin & Bhaji)
Kartikeya: Yeah, in addition to his all-round skills, Taki here has great experience, which we are more than happy to have. He has experience in all conditions, something that would be very handy when it comes to playing in away conditions. And the camaraderie we've had in this team since everybody arrived a week ago has been amazing - rishis, asuras, humans, all practicing together.
Dr V: Lakshman, you've played all your matches alongside Rama, but this is the first time that you are in a side different from him. How does that feel?
Lakshman: Well, any team that has Ram Bhaiya doesn't need anyone else. But I am hurt that SS didn't think it worth its while to even bid on me, although I am flattered that the reason they didn't is that I am not much different from him and don't bring that variety. But I am thrilled to rejoin Rishi Agastya here, and will be approaching him for pointers whenever I need them.
Agastya: Yeah, it's fantastic to be back w/ Lakshman, but also, to be alongside asura players, such as Taki and Tingu. Let's see how the season comes along.
Dr V: Thank you guys.
Later, Dr V is amongst the spectators and has a special guest. Let's see who it is.
Dr V: Hello, and today, I have it, the lovely Urmila, who is here cheering the Prized Prithvis, of which her husband Lakshman is a key player. Hi, Urmila
Urmila: Hi, Dr V. Happy to be here. Last night, we had dinner w/ Kama & the team manager Rati, and it was wonderful!
Dr V: You had been w/o your husband during his 14 years of touring, how does it feel to finally be able to accompany him?
Urmila: It's great. For the first time, since Jethshree Rama is not a part of his team, he does have time for me when he's not practicing or playing, so I am happy to be able to accompany him wherever he goes. And the great thing here - the kids love these mountains. Some day, I think they'll get to rule kingdoms here, that's what I heard from Jethshree.
Dr V: And who are these 2 lovely tiny tots, who seem to be playing a rival match here w/ each other, separate from the main game that will be played?
Urmila: This one here is Angad, and this one here is Chandraketu.
Dr V: Hi, Angad. What do you like doing?
Angad: Balling
Dr V: What was that, bawling? Ok, Chandraketu, what about ya?
Chandraketu: Batting
Dr V: Are you both excited here to see Daddy play?
Both: Yeah
Dr V: What do you think Daddy will do?
Both: Hit a century
Urmila: Erupt like a volcano
Dr V: Thank you, Urmila, & kids, for sharing your insights. Back to you, Vrish!
