There is a build up track to mahishasur story. Ranbha and karanbha were doing tapas to gew swarga. Indra took the form of crocodile and killed Rambha. Karanbha continued his tapas and sought an indraghati putra. He married a mahishi and she became prepnant. But indra invaded their kingdom and killed karambha. The queen ran and gave birth to a son, later known as Mahishasur who later sought revenge from indra. Kab dikhayenge ye sab?

First 45 minutes on 24th of october.
10 minutes shiv will rurn behind parvati
3 minutes for paro to change avtar
1 minute for all devtas to give her the astras
1 minute tada mahishasur dead

But tell me? Aren't they supposed to concentrate on Shakti now? Specially in the Navaratri bit. All the nine avatars of her and yes, the Ramayan bit as well?

They are supposed to be concentrating on Shakti too-but they hardly do..

i guess they may follow a version that Shiv Ji blesses him with a Vardaan that he wont be killed by any Deity or a Man...

and the rest of the story we know!
