i had one question ,if Lord Skand was there before Lord Ganesh ,then Parvati can use Skand for guarding the gate nah ?

Why instead she created Ganesh ...

Skand is also her child afterall...he will do what ever she order's ..Is't it?

from the versions i have read Skanda was on his dads side...more or less everyone was hence Ganesh Ji was created!

he became kind of withdrawn after Ganapati came...it is said he didnt like his parents favoring him more

my mom said that Mahadev is said to have been very fond of Ganapati and hence Kartikeya didnt like it,and hence he moved away from the family

however Parvati yearned for years to have her son back(thats one of the stories in the solha somvar vrat katha) and tried many a times to get him back...

what happened in the case of Ganapati was that Kailash was full of men(it may have included Kartikeya as well),and none of them understood Parvatis need of privacy her being a woman and hence she had to make someone who understood her needs!

in ACK they have Kartikeya particiapting in the war that Shiva rages against Ganapati...
