No shruti, they are not from the same community , but yes,, somewhere way way way back there would have been a connection between all those with the same gothra,.

Shruti 🤗 my sister ...

besides I agree with jayvenk, because I don't have a kuldevta I have a kuldevi which is Chandi-Chamunda from Chotila in Gujarat and my mother tongue is Gujarati. So I am not sure how that works 😕

@pari yeah sisters🤗
oh so there are Kaundinyas in Gujrat as well!thats intresting,i think all the members of the Gotras got dispersed in various areas,hence even if we are from the same Gotra we may not have the same mother toungue etc!
Rishi Kaundinya is supposed to be from North India,Kashmir to be presise hence there is such a possiblity!

ya that is entirely posible as if we look at the history of the part of Gujarat that I am from, we can see that the people who live their orignially migrated from Punjab ... so i am not surprised that my ancestor would be from North India 😳

@ Meena - you are a treasure house of knowledge.
Gotra is quite prevalent in South India too and like Jayavenk said above thats the first question they ask. In arranged marriages, same gotra marriage is never agreed to. And after marraige a girls gotra changes to that of her hubby's.
