Knowing Mahakali
Shiv has returned to Kailash after visiting Mahakali's Loka.
Seeing a glow on his face Parvati asks him where had he gone with Brhmaji & Vishnuji?
He answers this was one of the rare occasion when one gets chance to visit the Supreme power who governs this World.
Parvati: But as far as I know you the Tridevas are responsible for it.
Shiv: Yes we are but we She gives us that power.
Parvati: Who is she, whom I am unaware of ?
Shiv: She is Param Shakti Mahakali.
Parvati is excited to know more about Mahakali.
On her request Shiv starts this discourse.
Shiv: Mahakali is one of the form of Sahkti. There many Shaktis active in running this World.
The Parameshwari Shakti that runs them is Mahakali or Kal-sankashini, who has many names.
Entire World has resulted due to her, who is Parameshwar's Swatantra Shakti, without her the Param tatava is not possible. This Shakti governs Shiv, me, that's why Shiv & Shakti are one.
In Rishyantar kalpa, I & Narayan, in the beginning of the Srushti, did her penaance for hundreds of Divine years in Pushpak dweep.
As the result of our penanace Devi apperaed in her most ferrocious fom infront of us. We closed our eyes as couldn't bear to see her this form.
Mata Mahakali saw us scared, then she appeared in her Saumya form. we touched her feet. She told us to ask for a boon. We asked for knowing her Raudra & Saumya form's mantras.
She answered, there is no end to my forms & mantras. My Raudra forms appear for ParamShiv's Moha & to scares Asuras & Rakshasas.
My Saumya forms are 1 crore & Raudra forms are 8 crores.
In all of my Saumya forms, Tripurasundari is the best.
This way only Shiv knows true form of Mahakali. Among these 9 crores forms 55 are main.
Devi then told Shiv & Narayan about their way of worship, adding.
Since all these forms are part of me, worshipping me is worshipping all of them.
She them gave us her most secretive & powerful mantra & disappeared. which was given by Narayan to Narad & Sanak. I gave it to Durvasa, kashyap, Dattatreya & Kapil rishi. This way this mantra was given by Guru to Shishya. One gets that through Devi's kripa & by Guru's wish.
Parvati feels happy, requests Shiv to teach her too.
Shiv can not deny to his best Shishya, enlightens Parvati too.
