Dear Diary,
Udayveer and Rishika!...how weird does that sound? That is just not cute at all. Udayveer and Manyata!..that is sweet and dreamy, but nevertheless only i will be dreaming about Uday, because Uday will be dreaming about my roommate Sanaya. How sad is it, that i love him so much but can only see him loving and dating my roommate. All i can do is keep encouraging Rishika to go on more dates and enjoy with him since she is my best friend. Enough of my complains, but what to do, i can only pour my heart to you my sweet little true friend. Goodnight..
Manyata closed her diary and went to sleep hugging her favourite teddy bear , as it was given to her by Udayveer on friendship day. Manyata Singhal, a 1st year arts student loved Udayveer Singh the famous, hot and dashing 2nd yr friend a lot. Yes he was a friend as many coincidence had brought them together in many occasions, which made them develop a strong liking towards each other, and finally they termed their relation as friendship. Everyday she used to sneak to the college auditorium to see him practise for College plays and smile and drool at him like a 10year old smiling at some chocolates and candies!
Manyata read many books of impressing guys, but finally when the day came of confession, she faced the biggest shock and problem!..Rishika!..Rishika was few steps ahead of Manyata and proposed Uday. Poor Manyata never knew that Rishika was watching over her and took the right chance to be ahead of her in Uday's life. All Manyata could do was watch everything in pain and smile at them. She went with them for movies, and museums and clubs, to see Rishika stick around Uday like some GUM which irritated Manyata and sometimes even Uday. Uday was a soft-hearted guy, and although he had no feelings for Rishika he did not want to hurt her by rejecting her. He could feel the pain in Manyata's eyes, and saw that she really cared for him, but both were torn between friendship and virtues.
It was raining heavily and Manyata ran towards the tree to take shelter but she was completely soaked as the water drops from her wet hair fell slowly on her slim, tender body, making her shiver. Suddenly her heart started jumping as she saw Uday heading towards her at a fast pace and unable to see that Manyata turned to leave but was only stopped by Uday
"Hey where do you think you are going? Its raining heavily. Come let's wait under the tree" Uday replied, as he too was completely wet and he looked hot and mesmerizing in the form, that Manyata dared not look at him. She feared that her intensions might be revealed to him.
"No thanks, but i will be late for the library. I need to go, bye" Manyata tried to sound convincing but Uday was just not ready to listen
"How will you go in such a rainfall, you don't even have an umbrella with you?..Let me take you in my special umbrella.." saying this he removed the coat from his body and without her realising what he was up to, he raised the coat over their heads and replied to her
"Let us travel in my special umbrella today, we will stop in few places when you think you are tired of running" Manyata's blushed unknowingly, thinking she would be that close to him.
They ran with the coat over them, Uday held it tight, and Manyata being quite close to him, their feet running together and their hearts speeding faster with each movement. They laughed and talked to each other, in places where they stopped to rest. Manyata never travelled in such a special umbrella, but she loved it, and Uday could see that, as she laughed and enjoyed like a child. They ran again under the coat and finally reached the library without getting wet, but Manyata was really sad as the happiness was only short lived and Uday waved her a bye. She thanked God that day for the heavy shower, as she would always remember, the sweet memories that she had with the man whom she loved the most.
A few days later it rained again and Manyata and Rishika were having coffee in the college cafeteria, when he lady owner came and handed Manyata a black umbrella. Manyata replied politely that the umbrella wasn't hers and that she had her own with her. The lady unknown, to the fact that Rishika was Uday's girlfriend replied back,
"Of course it's not yours' but of Udayveer who was sipping coffee that day when it was raining heavily. He left his umbrella here purposely to join you under the tree." She winked at Manyata and smiled
This made Rishika furious and she looked at Manyata with a demand for answer expression, but Manyata avoided it and asked the lady in excitement.
"how do you know he left this umbrella to join me? May be he forgot to take it?.." to which the old lady smiled and replied..
"Sweetheart these old eyes have seen a lot, and from my experience i can say that he really loves you, and besides he had himself handed the umbrella to me"...
That was enough for Rishika to boil and go completely mad at Manyata and Udayveer and she sweared at her with various dirty names, but Manyata replied calmly
"Shut up Rishika, nobody like a Chewing gum as a girlfriend" and she ran to find Uday, leaving Rishika shocked and angry
It was raining heavily, but Manyata smiled back to the old lady and handed her umbrella too just like the other day Uday handed his. Uday was rehearsing in the auditorium all alone, when Manyata reached the place all drenched in rain. She was panting as she had really run fast to meet him, and to avoid from getting sick by the rainfall. Seeing Manyata in such a condition he got worried and he held her tightly
"What has got into you?..Why are you so wet and still smiling like this?..You need to change those clothes before you fall sick" Uday replied with urgency evident in his voice, to which Manyata only smiled and replied back
"i am not the only one to get wet in the rain inspite of having an umbrella. Am i?" she looked straight into his eyes, with lot of love and questions evident in those big eyes and sweet voice. She was actually weeping by then which made Uday speak his heart out. He finally closed his eyes and replied
"Yes i love you Manyata, and i don't know when this happened, but ever since i am with Rishika, i only keep thinking, if it would be you instead of her. I wanted to confess my feeling to you, which had grown after we started meeting in the college functions, and cultural nights, but then she had already proposed me, and i could not hurt her feelings. But i can't keep them hidden anymore and can't control myself from loving you"..
Manyata and Udayveer were on the isolated road by then and with the rain gaining its strength with each stroke, their passions increased for each other. They were both wet to the full, but instead of cold, they were heated up by each other's proximity and intense gaze. Both remained silent for a long time, when Manyata finally replied
"Then don't control yourself anymore.." she spoke and Uday immediately caught hold of her hair and lifting her head upwards, devoured her lips to the full. They kissed passionately, Uday's hands caressing her waist, ignorant of the surrounding, of the people around them. They kissed like there was no tomorrow and the rainfall was a perfect moment for them to heat up their emotions when everyone was comforting themselves under their blanket.
