Cannot fire workers in India?

Hi everybody:

I heard that employers cannot fire any employee in India. Is that true?

No idea....but sounds very biased if it is the case, even if employees are usually the "David" compared tot he "Goliath" employers.

Nope they can be fired but there used to be a time till the recent past when employers used to be afraid of firing any employee because of Labour Union terrorism. It was most pronounced in West Bengal which is a communist state. Even now, it's not like the US market but still the power of the labour unions is decreasing everyday.

Yes employee's in India can be terminated (fired) too (ofcourse in accordance to employement agreement / rules). Guess you got the answer closing this topic.
