terrorism and stereotypes

Hi, I'm starting this topic because it has really been irritating me and I was wondering what everyones view was on this. Okay here goes-

Terrorism is a sensitive, delicate issue especially as it is linked quite often with Islam. my question to you is do you agree with the label of terrorism put on Islam. Do you think that the 9/11 has eroded the real meaning of Islam and created a whole load of stereotype views on the religions and the people following it. DO you think that muslims are starting to become victims themselves.

Okay my view is that I don't agree with the label put on Islam however it understandable why it has been applied and I think that peoples views are influenced by news stories and the medis.
I also think that 9/11 has eroded Islam alot because Islam is a religion of peace not violence and because of the twin towers and planes etc. The few irrational muslims who had done this are to a certain extent responsible for the erosion of the true meaning of Islam. I also believe that the stereotype view has increased after 9/11 before it wasn't really that bad but has got worse since the tragic event. The last question i am unsure about because I think the innocent muslims are now being labelled for the action of others and I undrstand why it is happening but I don't really think its fair to blame the whole muslim community.

Lets not bring discussions pertaining to a particular religion.. We have had many such discussions in the past and have faced many such issues...
