@ post - I don't understand this whole concept of teachers not understanding students because they are a different colour/race. If that's the norm, then here in the Gulf, most educational establishments would be teacher-less!

Thanks guys for response. Separate school for blacks is still a controversial issue here, many blacks are also against this concept and provincial government is not providing extra funds for it either because it is against their ideology. So lets see what kind of shape it would aquire in future

If I'm not wrong the Conservative Party tried for the whole "faith-based" school system and nothing has come of it. This similarly, most probably won't be going through, as well. As raj5000 said, how many will enroll their children in these schools? It's the step before this, where parents need to "care" enough about these same children, enough to see how well they would do in a public school, that really needs to be the issue.

Rather than trying to form a segregated school, the City Council should be working on how to make "family" and "teachers" help involve students, in education, rather than "giving up" because they don't understand. And to think of what excatly don't these teachers understand? There are thousands of examples infront of them, and I'm pretty sure an honest teacher spends time analyzing these situations. The keyword there being "honest..."

NO, esp when something like that is done by the Govt. What govt should do is to open more schools in Black dominated areas but should never open schools exclusively for them.

If that allows more kids to get into school rather than dropping out. I would say go for it

If I am going to have kids who are at a distinctive disadvantage being in a class, I would prefer those kids be in a seperate class, now that class can be seperated on whatever is the commonality amongst them(and eventually it might turn out to be race)

Many of my grad classes were strictly Indians 😆 , Since we were the only ones nerd enough to choose those subjects 😆

well, I'm with RTH and SJB on this one. I also like jasunap's view as well in case black community itself wants separate schools where they can reinforce their cultural teachings.

I have been thinking. When students come to a teacher saying "Lemme axe you" the teacher will be naturally wary of the students.

Okay I don't know what this guy is thinking but personally I think it's unbeneficial . Kids need to get used to the idea of working with people of all races at a young age so they can work well with them when older. I don't think many would be comfortable "participating in society" when they're working with groups they're unfamiliar with. Society is segregated enough as it is and instead of encouraging people to work together with those of other races and/or alternate chaste, these people are encouraging them to be even more segregated. This is detrimental to the society's future as a whole, IMO.
