Ok you have a point... since women are born... we have been told about honour and buried in our Subconscious is the word honour and what is aspect from us...

Where does the woman... Honour go when she is confronting an abusive father, brother and husband....??? I have read article recently where a mother in law ... did not want her daughter in law to leave her son ... as she asked for divorce.... Which was totally unacceptable by her family.... Both the son and mother took her to India killed and reported to her family she ran off....

In this case where was the womans honour? as the mother in law is now carrying out a life time sentence in a uk prison....at the age of 64??? Where is the honour in that?

See the way i see it is and this is my point of you it like the cave man mentally! it is a male v/s female issue when you look deeper at the issue....

It's a culture issue...which need to be addressed...as the word honour has been diluted

My question will be what does the family members gain out of honour killing? ridiculous and sad!!

Does the recent story about woman being awarded some kind of award by killing his abusive husband, considered as honour killing (guess movie povoked was inspired by this incidence, not sure though)?

No, Provoked was the true story of Kiranjit Ahluwalia (sp?), who suffered domestic abuse and killed him to save her own life; its not honour killing.

can u imagine rana manvendra singh who has generations of pride finds his daughter sleeping around with the nukkad ka mucchad paanwala....😆

I find the concept of "bloodline maintenance" equally nonsensical.

Would the Rana wish to follow the trend of the Egyptian Pharoahs and legalize incest if he can't find a suitable "blood" candidate?

Not necessarily.. People who value honor and have the ability to have one do so... Its not a common mans trait.. people who kill for such things are deep into acceptance of cultural psyche.. which you might call caged.... I call conformance... so a soldier in the military is also caged in the private cage of the general?.....😆

People who kill for such things should kill themselves instead of their own children.

I have read stories how other women have also agree to the killing of there daughter in laws...and partipate in this act

the question really is was how do we keep our culture and adapt to modern ways?

If there are social evils in any culture, they should be eliminated. Even Sati was a part of culture for a long time before it was made illegal. Keep the good in any culture and chuck out the bad.

Also people need to be educated that this concept does not really exist in their religious scriptures.

As long as we have close minded....people..we will hae such acts...it snot about it being male society or female...

In such act the male and female both are culprits...and the biggest enemy of woman is the woman herself..be it her own mother, sister, mother-in-law, sister-in-law...etc

The only way to change the mentality of peopel is by educating them...in seing the right and wrong of things...the repercussions of their actions...

The sickening part is ..we can't say its the illeterate ...uneducated...poor massess who are committing such henious crimes...but even the most effluential....educated massess....

Who is to blame...except the crap that is feed to a person while he or she is growing up...

Once we as a group...males and females togehter wont take a step in the right direction chucking out the bad from the good, the wrong from the right, and help in the change...nothing will ever put a stop to such crimes....

Until an unless we change we can't change others...adn so something about it...
