Hi All😊

My first topic here... i was reading the paper recently and saw a story how many Asian woman in the UK/other countries were killed by family members in the name of honor? My question really is

- What is Honour? Is it so vital that we kill and murder our own blood?

- In the 21st century will we be able to drive this "over protectiveness and Controlling " behaviour from our Asian dominating males....

- Are we right to let the males dicate how a women should behave as no holy scripture have every told dicated this (as i have read)

Love to get everyone input....

Kat

First of all, I dont understand why female virginity is associated with a family's honour.

What is the big deal about it? This ridiculous societal taboo is one which has led about to the retarded concept of honour killing in the first place.

i agree it's so backwards and medieval... yet we women let this abuse continue and nourish it into the next generation... Why? what are we not teaching our sons and daughter?

I have read stories how other women have also agree to the killing of there daughter in laws...and partipate in this act

the question really is was how do we keep our culture and adapt to modern ways?

My question will be what does the family members gain out of honour killing? ridiculous and sad!!

Does the recent story about woman being awarded some kind of award by killing his abusive husband, considered as honour killing (guess movie povoked was inspired by this incidence, not sure though)?

Not indian males alone.. there are women who die to preserve their honor and thats the indian woman and culture .... trying to make it a male v/s female issue is futile... follow it closely and you will know its truly in name of honor and not a covert crime...😊

i think its mostly due to it being the pathway to familial and bloodline maintenance

can u imagine rana manvendra singh who has generations of pride finds his daughter sleeping around with the nukkad ka mucchad paanwala....😆

Not necessarily.. People who value honor and have the ability to have one do so... Its not a common mans trait.. people who kill for such things are deep into acceptance of cultural psyche.. which you might call caged.... I call conformance... so a soldier in the military is also caged in the private cage of the general?.....😆
