I like it. 😳 I can only bring down to Vande Maatram (strange now that I know QTdi's perspective on it 😆), the Banyan Project theme, Ye Haseen Waadiya, Saathiya title, Maangalyam, Kehna Hi Kya ... 😳 This list rarely has an end. I really do like his work ... I find it's unique from much of the things being dished out today. There's something about his compositions that strikes a chord within my soul...something very rare with music in general. Few works are able to do that..

hey, I loved yeh haseen waadiyaan.. the picturization was also very romantic and the music was soft and melodious.. .. kehna hi kya is also good, sounds better in tamil. .. another good one is Snehidane -- (chupkese .. chupkese raat ki chaadar tale - in hindi )

Asian singers i think very rare do eply in india.........i think so.......some of the english song cant perform n sing at a time in stage so they just do lipsynching.. ppls ready to accept that also ..so its not big deal.

Yes yes and yes! I would have included Chupke Se, but as I said, that list is never-ending for me. I haven't heard the Tamil versions, though I don't doubt they are better. Often the original version surpasses the translation... something always gets lost. The lyrics ARR works with has a lot to do with the beauty of his compositions. That these songs are able to retain that soul-stirring quality even in Hindi is, in part due to the lyricist and in part due to ARR.

Have you heard Dil Se (title) in Tamil? The raw feeling in the song is ten-fold in the Tamil version.

I like the raw quality in ARR's voice - they lend a passion and energy to his singing, which is apparent in the clips of his performances. (Trying so hard to get back to the topic 😆)

Question: What draws people to concerts? What makes you want to go to a crowded arena with hundreds of loud people to barely see the performer and listen to him/her through speakers? Why that over a CD in the home theater system?

& in most part due to fans hearing it that way 😆😆.. okay j/k..

i did, it was better than Hindi, I agree, but nothing moved me there :( oops sowwy..

fir himmy pe julm kyon behna? ok.. j/k again..

There goes Simi 😊

Depends on whose concert actually. I would never attend Britney concert, and if ever forced to, i wouldn't care if she was lipsynching or else. Chances are I would be wearing Bose noise cancelling headphones anyway 😉. Same would hold good for any boy bands and such.

But I attend only those where I wish to see the stars perform live SINGING.. that's what i attend concerts for. the crowded arena full of hundreds of fans is for the adrenalin rush. Mega-scale and live is a completely different experience that listening at home, even with amp set at stadium setting!

Also, to me, listening to CD is quiet time when alone, bonding time when together with someone and such.. Arena is Go Crazy-Time!!

oh it's about having a good time. those tail-gate parties are fun- cant go to a pink floyd, rod stewart, rolling stones, john mayer, U2, black sabbath concert and not enjoy all the booze and the wild action. and that when the sound system is great, when the music is actually great and the singers know how to perform and look good on stage, most of which is generally not the case for desi singers. 😉so on top of that, if one has to listen to ghulam ali or ARR sounding repetitive or in their cracked up voice, and one wants to just enjoy the company around, they might as well just get them to lip-synch. cant tell the difference anyway with all that blaring pandal type sound stage, and they'd sound better too. might just be able to fool some of us into thinking they are good singers and performers.😛😆
