I never said anything about NRI participation. (I am an NRI myself). I find it just ridiculous that a national television channel doesnt even cover 50% of its country for talent search and at the same time go to a neighbouring country and get non-indians.

as ridiculous as perhaps half the indians not finding hindi to be the national language? and who'd have trouble singing hindi songs without an accent?😉

i am sure zee is not doing it out of spite towards the south. just that it probably does not make good business sense for them given the low-density of hindi singers down south.

it's like the desi NRIs blaming western politicians for not paying enough heed to desi issues. well, duh. when did desi NRIs try to bring those issues to the forefront? were they really active politically to expect any political consideration? similarly, cant expect folks to pay serious attention to singers down south till the south makes a more concerted effort to go mainstream with the language. now dont blame me for this. but there has to be some good business reason for zee to ignore the south, right? after all, they are not about to leave a good trick if they see one, yes? so what else is there?😊

So you are saying that ANY non-indians should NOT be a part of the indian show which comes on an indian channel coz they are non-indians😕, i didn't quite get you there...

You are badly informed 😉. Other than one state no one has an issue with the national language. Hindi is taught in all schools just like rest of India. I recently learnt that in North East, Hindi is banned in states like Manipur. Still they went to that Zone, didn't they? Now for accent, tell me how many non Hindi speaker doesn't have an accent? It is a known fact that even people with heavy accents can sing flawlessly. Have you heard Kumar Sanu talk? Heavy Bengali accent which you won't find in his song.

So business for Zee? Yes. Anything for big bucks. Zee certainly doesn't have a bias towards any state or zone. Tomorrow if whole of India starts lacking talent then they would totally ignore the country and may even go to Mars for revenue😃.

What about the fact that they watch these shows too, and love them...they love indian music and indian movies and want to be a part of that...just cos they are not "indians" does not mean that they can't be a part of an indian show...

And no, it is definitely wrong to have ignored an entire part of India...I'm a Hyderabadi too...and I hated it that they didn't conduct full-blown or even on a small-scale auditions there...

But, it is not the fault of the people who got selected...be it UK'ians or Pakistanis...I would't want anyone to take their anger on SRGMP out on these contestants....

What I mean to say is that yes, Zee wanted TRP's and profits, yes...but the people who did get selected are as good and should be given a fair chance by everyone and should not be BASHED cos of their nationality/origin.

If a singer wanted to be a part of the show, travel to the nearest audition location is not that difficult is it?

Obviously they got a lesser response from Southern part of India last time(in terms of voting and auditions), so they decided not to waste their time in that 😉 if they had gotten such a great response, would Zee(the money first) channel have skipped it?

usme itna emotional hone wali kya baat hai?

There is no personal vendetta against any country. I found the singers from the foreign shores as talented as Indians or some may be better. The comparison occurred because contestants were chosen from another country ignoring a major zone in our own. The main problem was division of zones not any other country. 😊

yes yes. just like they teach spanish and even french here in america as a second or maybe third language😆

point is that by and large people speak their own ethnic languages and in that sense hindi is not accepted as the national language.

I recently learnt that in North East, Hindi is banned in states like Manipur. Still they went to that Zone, didn't they?

well there are enuff states in the east where they either speak hindi or a close derivative of it. not the case down south imo.

Now for accent, tell me how many non Hindi speaker doesn't have an accent? It is a known fact that even people with heavy accents can sing flawlessly.

Have you heard Kumar Sanu talk? Heavy Bengali accent which you won't find in his song.

like hema? or SPB too? sounded fairly accenty if you ask me. which might explain why there've been so few successful hindi singers from the south. of course, there are exceptions. but we do not go intentionally mining for ore in low-probability places, do we?😉

lol. so true.😆
