Yes, I was really upset abt this when they were holding the auditions and then stating from where they were going

Are they forgetting about the South for a particular reason?? There is as much talent there as there is in the North.. and i am not saying this only because I am a South Indian myself, but look at people like Hemachandra and Karunya.. and i know others have said this as well.. some of the best singers in musical shows, and they forget about them now.. really quite sad, completely taking away Southern India from the entire competition, and they say it's a World affair...

In that way very happy with II2, they went to Hyderabad and got some good singers and don't ignore them...! Only thing, nobody ever goes to Chennai 😆 is it because very few know HIndi?

What a shame we are discussing about it.

Shouldn't we be happy as long as all of them are Indians.

Yes we should be happy as all are Indians but when you're forgetting half of India that isn't right either is it...😳 i'm really happy they've got people from all over the world this time but also sad at the fact that they haven't included the South in this....!

We should be if the contestants were selected from whole India. When division was made based on zones then leaving one zone certainly raises doubts and warrants criticism. If there were no zones then it would have been a fair game at least.

Anyways there is no point in arguing about something which cannot be undone. So I will refrain from commenting on this thread further. 😊

Great Point.. 👏 If there is division on zones, then why did they exclude south?? Now just like how they did for the Pakistani singers asking the mentors to choose one for each gharana, they could have followed the same for the south too.. Conduct the audition, select 4 among them and make them join each Gharana.. That could have been better

Your logic is very good but the truth is Southern part is in India and it certainly deserves first chance before any foreign country.

If anything deserves a first chance, it's talent. And it doesn't matter if the talent is across the border or within it. I'm not saying that they did the right thing by excluding the South - but that has nothing to do with the fact that they got singers from Pakistan. If they felt they could find more Hindi singing talent in Pakistan than in the South, then go for it!

first there is nothing wrong if they want to bring singers from outside india..but to say " that they felt they could briing hindi singing talent in pakistan then south is not right either...they could have done both !!when u divide based on regions u just shouldnt miss one part..period !!!

👏👏👏 Very well said Shady. One more thing we need to remember. Zee Tv is no more just an Indian TV channel. it has become an international channel. but yes what they could have done was followed the Pakistan selection process for every zone and section.Select four from all the sections and then let the mentors choose. that would have made it more balanced maybe. but to say any particular section deserve the first chance is wrong.😊 similarly leaving south was also wrong especially when u are taking from every other zones of India.

I think you have got your geography seriously wrong. Pakistanis are not indians. They are not NRIs if you might be thinking that. But moreover, they went their completely ignoring South India... No true indian can justify that. If you have some reasoning to justify that, obviously you are not an indian. OR you are doing it for the sake of it!!!

I think your concept of a National TV need to think of international audience is seriosly flawed. Any National channel carries certain responsibilities to keep countries interest in mind. No one teaches that OR enforces that. Its just the moral responsibility of the channel.

Now lets fast forward a bit. Aug 15th, Saregamapa -- What would the pakistani singers sing?? Indian Patriotic songs --- OR pakistani patriotic songs on Indian indepence day --- OR they will go totally neutral and not celeberate the independence day!!! That would be even more shame!

The point here is you should never ever prefer non-indians over indians -- no matter if it is art and music has no boundaries bla bla...

Ignoring South India is happening for quite a long time now..whether it's movies or music world...it's been happening....

We do give importance to hindi in south india...and we do watch hindi programs...may be not as much as north indians do....

be it Yesudas or Chitra, they hv shown what they r capable of....but not given the same treatment as other north indian singers...it's a fact...same thing is happening in Sa re ga ma pa.... 😕

Can anyone remember Pradeep Somasundaram? u guys must be wondering who is he?...he is the male winner from Kerala of 'meri awaz suno' which had Sunidhi Chauhan as the female winner....where is Sunidhi now & where is Pradeep?... 😕
