That is my question? If she had the guts to go out and buy petrol and set him on fire then WHY? Why didn't she seek help?

1. Was she afraid that by telling her parents, she would trouble them too----Then why did she kill him? That made things worser for parents.

2. Was she afraid that going to police won't work because he might come back?----Then she could have taken women's supportt group addresses from police and taken their help.

3. Was she deranged after all the abuse?-------possible and in that case she needed treatment. Hope she got one.

This is further glorified in those serials some camps churn out daily and also in some films. 🤢

What is unbelievable is that some guys we have deported from here due to SEVERE ABUSE, have remarried in India and it is not as if nobody knows their history!! There are women willing to marry such 🤢🤢 or perhaps forced to marry such 🤢🤢

In fact, there are several women to yell out "uskee pehlee beewee me gadbad thee, wo GORE ke saath bhag gayee thee" 🤢🤢

( This particular has happened only once in my knowledge among our clients, I am not drawing a general picture, but one is bad enough)

I wouldn't make a sweeping statement like that. Before blaming everything on men it is also upto us women to stand up for our rights.

i think prevention is better than cure so if men wont provoke these women then y would women take such steps. it was a women had it been a man suffering all this he would have killed the culprit in year or two only.men have less tolennce.

would like to hear some men comment on this topic.

Good points made all of you! I agree that unless parents give the daughters the security that she always has an option to opt out of a life in hell, the girls will continue to suffer so that their parents do not have to suffer the shame of their daughter having a broken marriage.

SOME parents ( Even rich / rather loaded ) who marry away their daughters in a grand wedding, often times tell there daughters never to come back even when they know ABUSE is happening. For those of who, whose jaws dropped to the floor, BEEN THERE DONE THAT!😕 Lack of folks's support and in fact a feeling of SHAME in going back😭 is the PRIMARY REASON the women often bare and bare some more and it goes on beyond belief ... There has never been a real goal, a real achievement and the girls tend to be directioless They have way more gold than we have probably, but they have NO WHERE TO GO if they leave their husband. This tends to be MORE PREVALENT in certain communities as opposed to certain others and I will not name names here. Many educated men working in top-notch techy companies grow up thinking " Aadmi hoon, ekad bar hath uthh bhi gayaa to koi gal nahee" .. These parents have failed with both daughters and sons and hence, it is essential to go with the flow and change some age-old traditions.. I concur with raunaq, maya, DB and such that it is GIRL's PARENTS who can take a SOLID STAND and the trend of considering beating to be okay will change some day. Boy's parents will change automatically, knowing that "Dadagiri nahee chalegee 😡"</span>

giving their daughters kilos and kilos wait, since they are NRIs pounds and pounds of gold in dowry does not mean that they have given everything what they had to give as a parent. secondly, those men 😡 who think slapping their wives is the right way, then they need a reality check. being high tech ITs doesnt mean they are showing their wisdom by beating their wives 😡 😡 😡 they need a reality check 😡

The root evil is bad parenting and society.

Parents shouldn't shame their daughters for standing up against abuse. Why fear society? Nothing is more important than your daughter's life.
