Precisely my point. Which is why your comparison of India/USA specifically didn’t make any sense to me when the concept applies to practically almost every country out there. From the Philippines to China to Turkey to Pakistan, there isn’t a single country this doesn’t happen in. Maybe you disagree but I reckon when crunch time comes, human beings (no matter the country) by nature are selfish individuals who put their needs first, it’s just a fact of life.

Why not? I am Indian American. I know the two nations best. I am not Phillipino or Chinese or Turkish or Pakistani. I prefer to make my criticisms based on some of my identities. What is wrong with that?

Having lived in both India and the United States, to me there is no difference between Hindutva and white nationalism. White nationalists march in Charlottesville. Hindutva activists hold morchas in India. White nationalists target and shoot up people of color. Hindu nationalists lynch Muslims and people suspected and eating beef.

They are two different countries. Two different histories. And both have unique complexities. Perhaps that is why some may not see it as the same. But if you strip them down to the core - they are nothing but a dominant majority wishing to keep a subordinate group in its place and perpetuating hate.

Nice try. But that is what Jihadis did to KPs in India in J&K. In fact they did much worse. And are still not satiated killing the remaining ones every other day. If someone started documenting everyday violence against Hindus by the peace-loving, intolerant, second highest majority it would be the biggest thread on the forum. Not that it's limited to J&K.

But since those lives lost are Hindus, it doesn't really matter. Moral relativists and pathological monkey-balancers will go out of their way in whitewashing that genocide/exodus and other crimes by coming up with all sort of muh nuance, muh complexity and other airy-fairy bollocks 😆.

Please go ahead and make your criticisms based on your or John Lennon’s identities. Just don’t be surprised if someone calls out your observations/criticisms for being something that applies outside of your specific Indian American identity. Also fun fact, you don’t have to be Chinese or Turkish to be aware of their current affairs.

They're not 'similar at the core'. There are a lot of nuances behind the rise of Hindutva forces in India. White nationalism is pretty straightforward, a majority wanting to subjugate a forever-marginalized minority.

Not so in India. In India, Hindus and Muslims have had a pretty complicated relationship. The minority today was once the ruling class for 800 years. There have been instances where Hindus have been persecuted by Muslims in certain states/areas. There is no unilateral master/slave or oppressor/oppressed dynamic here. Since independence, most governments and political parties have been following the policy of appeassment.

So, "X marches in Charlottesville, and Y marches in Indian cities" is a very very juvenile and simplistic way of looking at it.

It's not documented because it will burst the Hindutva terror propaganda in no time. Recently, there were riots in Kanpur exactly on the day the PM and the President went there for an event related to investments in the state. The rioting mob is now being labeled the victim.

After killing a man for saying Krishna is supreme, Islamists are advocating it again for two national spokies merely for quoting their own texts. Sar tan se juda is apparently secular. Leftists and seculars who support FOE over obscene jokes on the Indian deities suddenly become slaves to the medieval era blasphemy shit when FOE is exercised against another religion. 🤡
