Yes, her father endorsed fairness cream.. does that mean others get the license to be call her names for her color or that she gotta put up with it? Why will she be answerable for her father's professional choices? How do you know she didn't address this issue with her father too? She ain't gonna display it on SM for sure.. but these vile comments were made online so she addressed them online.. how's it being pretentious😆

I never said that...it simply means you can't expect others of something and not do it yourself its called hypocrisy..and this is an example of it.

This also got me thinking about how this forum and people outside of it troll actresses for maybe getting skin lightening... have y'all thought that maybe the reason why they felt they had to resort to lightening their skin is because of how bad they were made to feel in the first place? As demonstrated by all these sick comments that people make unprovoked.

Racism and colourism is so ingrained into asian culture it's sad. Which is why I don't feel the need to taunt actresses who may have had surgery/lightening procedures because they're essentially victims. No one who is happy and content with the skin they're in alters their appearance, only those who are unhappy with it do. Most of the time people who resort to lightening procedures do so because it's been instilled in them that their darker skin is inferior.

I really hope she doesn't but if in the future Suhana were to lighten her skin (and again it would not be her fault because look at all the bullying and how bad she's been made to feel) I can bet the same people calling her "kaali" will be like 'omg why did she lighten her skin she used to look better before??'

People bully and harass these celebs into hating their appearance and then act surprised when they go for surgeries....

True.. whatever his reasons were for promoting the brand (money), it's about time he stops it.. maybe now he will realize the implications when his own daughter is at the receiving end

But how is she a hypocrite? Her father endorsed the brand.. not she.. her father did wrong.. not she.. her stance never changed.. so how is she a hypocrite?

My sister used to face the colour related insults and still facing it after so many years. I am so called light skin coloured and my relatives from my dad's side used to mock my sister over it " Dekh teri behen kitni gori hai " It was beyond disgusting and shameful. Used to tell all this behind my father and mother's back. It still breaks my heart.

I can soooo relate to this. My elder sister is fair skinned & I am of wheatish shade & from the very childhood I had to hear from my relatives that I am not beautiful like my Didi. I even heard people lamenting to my parents "your younger daughter did not come to be beautiful like your elder one". Even though, not so surprisingly, we both have similar built, similar facial features etc... We both look a lot like our Dad. It's just that my Di got Mom's colour & I got Dad's.

I used to feel really bad when I was younger. The whispers are still there....but I have developed a don't care attitude over it now.

That’s the story of typical household in India. My best friend was always called by her color instead of the name when we were in school. She grew up to be the biggest badass but it did take a toll in our school years
