I agree SSR also needs justice but does this case really need 24*7 media coverage as If there are no other problems in India. When ever we switch on the TV all we see is updates relating to SSR case. We has so many problems in India like economy slowdown, job loss, increasing covid, Jee Neet postpone problem ( some students even committed suicide because of this) , A 5 year old girl Gunjan was brutally raped and killed, India China problem. Don't all these problems need attention. Don't they deserve Justice like SSR too. Just because of SSR case is getting them TRP they are ignoring these major problems in India. Can't the India media give equal coverage to all the problems.

The case may not need 24/7 coverage but the media needs this 24/7 to run their shop given the case provides the perfect platform for eye ball trp grabbing sensationalism these 24/7 channels thrive and run on.

Media's interest is profit. Profit is tied to eyeballs. So they have to show something that people are interested in.

Hardly anyone is interested to see news about China conflict, suicides, economy crashing, job losses. People want entertainment and they are turning towards media for it, and media is giving them what they want. In turn media gets TRPs and through that profit.

You just have to follow the money and you will crack most cases.

One of the better channels is NDTV, which has given very limited coverage to this case compared to other channels. But its TRPs are never touching the skies, only because they do not sensationalize like Republic or Times Now do.

Media always play important role. It was media who picked up sheena Bohra case & made sure sheena get Justice, finally she got Varna no one knew sheena died in 2012 & Indrani was living her life freely.

This case is very big which is including drugs & many other things , if media will leave this case SSR culprit will get time to close d case .

Newspaper do have all information it's not like media is only covering SSR case .

No topic related SSR is to open as per mods

It’s a distraction from very pressing issues the country is facing. The threat from China is very real as is the economic downturn and the havoc of this pandemic. Yes SSR case can be covered but it’s just being used to divert from real issues and is now just a heavily politicized pawn.

No it does not needs media attention 24*7

All news channels feel like gossip shows on zoom or filmfare all the time. Every channel has been following Rhea to a point, that they will start reporting when she sneezes.

We have so many issues in the country. Yesterday a covid 19 patient from kerala got raped by ambulance driver. This was shown on a Bengali news channel. No news channel showed it.

Nobody reported anything about Rajnath Singh's sudden meeting with Iran's defense minister. All they are concerned about SSR.

Media channels should understand not everybody life revolves around SSR. I would like to see something else other than Shushant gatha. How about reporting about rising coronavirus or Indo- China issues? .

Now days I love Bengali news channels, Wion and Doordharshan news as they are only SSR free channels.

Ofcourse not lol.

But the ruling government is paying big money to its mouthpieces to keep the country distracted. Republic and Zee News are doing their very best. And even great? There's an audience for Arnab's histrionics. Today, India's Covid cases became the second highest in the world with the last million crossed in 2 weeks time. Who cares? Nobody.

India's GDP strunk by 23.9 percent but media coverage is more concerned about '90% Bollywood druggies ' 🤠 Yeah, you think Bollywood has a drug problem? Cover it. But what about India's growing Corona problem? Shouldn't that need more screaming and yelling? Apparently not. Its all cool.

There's coverage for TRPs and there's coverage for propaganda. But there's barely any coverage to propel sound journalism or to hold the government real. Growing up, I've never seen this kinda morally depraved behaviour from the media. Mainstream media in India has adopted the paparazzi culture and it sickening to it.

Barring very few journalists, who are still credible, Indian Media is dead. Its become rotten to the core.

SSR case is a distraction to deflect from real world issues like dwindling economy, unemployment, china, covid 19. It will only stop after the Bihar elections.
